What ive managed to gather, rehydrated took about only 10 months of development and Nick only gave them that time since the new spongebob movie was coming out this year but since the movie was pushed back due to covid, Nick told them to still release it on the same date and gave them no time to push the game back plus Nick only gave purple lamp a bunget for this remake so this was a budget remake and Nick told them to do spongebob with the bright shade of yellow to co inside with the movie and told them to reuse the music and the voice lines and told them that they connot use brand new voice lines plus since their was no voice lines in the original for the spongebob ancor arms and robot sqidward boss fight, they couldn't bring them into the single player and decided to do a multiplayer mode so that way the stuff that was suppost to be in the original got to see the spotlight after so long, Nick basically screwed over purple lamp studios hard and i feel bad for purple lamp, i honestly enjoyed rehydrated and im honestly shocked of how purple lamp managed to make a functional game on time since like i sayed that they only had 10 months of development and nick basically screwing them over
Too matter makes worse is that Nickelodeon doesn't care about their games not ever get a chance to some developent cycle for 1 or 2 years. Nickelodeon make rushed games for make easy and extremely boring and repetivive IF not worst Nick Games all of them years,please play the other classic or violence games or you are fan of show or remakes if you enjoy the game.
People keep blaming this game's development on the Coronavirus and the third movie's release date being delayed in most countries except for Canada and Czech Republic.

Season 4 is just as good as seasons 1-3 and season 5 is decent seasons 9-11 are also decent a bit overrated imo but still has so really good moments seasons 12 and 13 aren’t very good tho however I don’t get why people say call everything after the first movie trash
Clancy Brown is a god damn legend. I also am dumbfounded that they couldn't get Clancy Brown to voice Mr.Krabs in the remake. It wouldn't have been that difficult to get him on board. But because of the COVID-19 pandemic, maybe they didn't want to risk it.
Actually, Rehydrated's soundtrack is slightly remixed, I don't blame you for not noticing it's very subtle and it's mostly higher quality instruments with slightly different compositions at points. I feel it's the most obvious with Goo Lagoon's track
While visually I do like the art style of rehydrated, I kind of wish some of the character models (specifically SpongeBob) were based off of the original games designs rather than the modern seasons
Purple Lamp Studios noted that the original game was based on SpongeBob's season 2 design for his 3D model. In this remake game, SpongeBob's 3D model is based on his season 12 design. The developers have stated that the 3D model change was due to how SpongeBob's shape and color have changed slightly between season 2 and 10 seasons later in season 12.
i dont really see why they would base the models of an old version of the show different eras it makes perfect sense to have a new game base the models off the newer versions of the show instead of the older version that would seem outdated but thats just my take

Agreed, seasons 1-3 and the first movie were so good, but the seasons and movies after that are cringy as hell and just uncomfortable to watch and sometimes even boring. Hell some of them are just reused plots of the old episodes like the imagination paper and box.
While I do believe there has been a high point in 9B onward, the fact you don't really see discussions or big topics about it anymore on reviews just showcases how its become a Simpson's case where its pretty much ran its course. (Like name a review who has reviewed or still reviews the show? Even Enter just mostly brings it up in passing and PieguyRulez stopped his every episode review series, Cosmodore was outed as a predator, not to mention the occasional rehashed episode) The first 3 seasons were notable for a reason, despite Season 4 and parts of 5 having some charm (though 5 started to introduce issues into the show) That being said this is the best licsened game by far and a solid game all around and represents the prime of Spongebob well.

I actually enjoy that because in the original game, it drove me nuts when the Robot Plankton wouldn't stay deactivated, especially when trying to deal with all kinds of other crap going on at the same time like avoiding the karate chops.
You talk about the inversted cruise bubble controls alot do you know that you can change the controls in the settings? there is an option in gameplay settings that inverts the controls if you mess with it you can make the cruise bubble controls not be garbage
Probably the reason why Spongebob hasn't ended is because Nick is using the cartoon as their money cow (A.K.A. Milking it), which it explains why there was 24/7 of Spongebob in the past years... and how many shows were cancelled because Nick thought those cartoons weren't successful as Spongebob (like El Tigre, for example)...
The problem of Nickelodeon themselves is because they want only a money as that really dont care about 90's classic cartoons and didn't reboot or a spin-off series for many years,that always why they ruining Spongebob Squarepants so much and i was never see ever again for 2 years but i actually THQNordic may bring Spongebob games or a brand new Spongebob for the future.
The kelp slide was the part where I think it was the downside of this game to me. In the original, there's many openings that you take shortcuts to make your life easier, but Rehydrated has none of that. Its stressful, its stupid, and I wish the kelp walls were not an addition.

Heck, the player only needs 75 spatulas to unlock the final boss.
