    Well we are 6 months later June 2019. My 365 is dated Feb 2019-5000+ rounds through it. No problems. Sweet shooter, accurate. No spring scratch on magazine problem, no striker issues, no FTEs, no cycling problems. Striker drag is common on most mini/micro/compacts. Shield included. Love this piece.

    I have a gen 3 carried it every day have way over 1200 rounds initially when I first got it it would occasionally not hold back on the last round I contacted sig and they asked me what ammunition I was using I told them 115 grain they told me that the 365 was actually meant for 124 grain but it will operate with 115 grain ever since then I use nothing but 124 grain absolutely no problems. As for Tim's broken striker I had absolutely no problem with that but for my own peace of mind I purchased a stainless steel machined striker for only $100 I cannot recommend the P365 enough I carry it with a 12 round magazine absolutely love it . I have no problem recommending the P365 in fact I stake my life on it every day.

    I appreciate the fact that eric & chad kept the footage of the "user error " in there. It's good to see nothing hidden and also the potential of "adjusting grip/hold" is something to consider in different guns. Great content! Keep em coming boys!

    Being primarily an 1911 guy I am completely unbiased here. I own many firearms from different manufacturers and my 2nd gen Sig p365 is the probably the best deep concealment pistol to me so far. Many, many rounds ( I don't usually count) and not one malfunction. Unlike some I use different tools for different applications.

      I love 1911's for range plinking. Love them. Beautiful and generally reliable guns. Tried and true. I've owned several 1911's, the only one I have currently is a Springfield a1 milspec, that I gutted and rebuilt with Wilson combat interals. Tungsten hammer, full length tungsten guide rod, tungsten sear, new springs, polished her up a bit, and so on. It's a fantastic gun. I have never carried it. Doesn't make much sense to me to carry a gun that hold 7+1, that's heavier, and uses a hammer with an incredibly sensitive trigger. I know it has a safety and blah blah but I don't carry guns with a safety on. Ever. My carry is a sig p320. I love it. It's a very reliable and accurate pistol. It feels great in my hands. 17+1. One of the few pistols that I can comfortably and accurately shoot with either hand. I understand that doesn't matter to most people but it does to me. I like mixing it up and practicing with each hand.

    My 365 runs perfectly. I tried other 9MM compacts in this category before I bought mine and the Sig P365 felt best in my hands, shot best, no failures of any kind, and most accurate because of the awesome sights. It also conceals better in my opinion even with just shorts and a t-shirt.

    I called Sig Customer service today I asked how many had been sold and how many had come back with issues. Sold 200000 and .250% have came back for multiple reasons from finish scratched sights FP you name it. That’s a low percentage of returns. Now I am interested in how many Glock 43s have been sold and how many returned for service. I own both.
    I called Glock today. They won’t say how many have been sold or how many have come back. At least sig has the sack to put the numbers out there. I am working up the ladder for an Anser

      This is the crucial thing that people seem to forget. They suppose that Glock early adopters (or any early adopters) had a better time of it. They never did, albeit Sig has not handled the situation gracefully. Sub-par PR, not sub-par QC.

    I live in Atlanta and I’m a Glock guy. However, I have 1400 rounds through mine with no malfunctions. I’ve broken it down, pulled out the striker after every range trip and it is solid. Born date is May 16 2018. I just bought another one three days ago born on December 1st 2018. Once again no malfunctions, no scratched mags , etc. My daughter and my niece shot it as well. No malfunctions and the slide locked back every time, even with my niece that doesn’t shoot often. The pistols are good to go.

    I was having a lot of the problems Matt had. Slide not locking back (my fault) and failure to go into battery. Sent it back to SIG and they got it back pretty quickly. The back end of the chamber had a more generous chamfer to it and was polished up. I was having FTB at least once a mag straight out of the box. Cleaned and lubricated. I didn't even have to take my offhand out of my pocket to count the FTB in 120ish rounds after getting SIG's preservative off it, but that is still too many. After it came back from SIG, 300 rounds of Blazer brass - 0 failures.

    Just picked up a p365, manufactured January of 2022. After about 500 rounds it’s running flawlessly. I’ve put through about 100 assorted hollow points as well with no malfunctioning. Zero primer drag and quite controllable. I may have finally found my new favorite carry option. After trying 4 different micro 9mm the p365 is probably the best fitting, shooting and controlling carry gun I have gotten my hands on.

    My P 365 has 3000 rounds thru it flawlessly! It has primer swipe which is not an issue with a properly manufactured striker. A striker is many times harder than a primer and only is an issue if the hardness on the striker is manufactured incorrectly.
    Ammo used: Sellier & Bellot 115 gr. FMJ
    Frame manufacture date: 11/17
    Manufacture Date: 04 Feb 2018
    Purchase Date: March 5, 2018
    Purchased from: Bass Pro Shops
    Model on box: 365-9-BXR Pre-production release (T&E) & Early release had 365-9-BSS
    BSS model was Siglight sights - BXR model is X Ray sights same used on Legion Pistols
    My P 365 has never been sent to Sig for anything and was purchased over the counter at Bass Pro Shops. In 3000 rounds I had 2 shooter errors Thumb Riding Slide stop which I knew I did.
    What is noteable is my pistol had X Ray sights and barrel and slide mill work done in March before the internet reported all the issues and fixes.
    I carry it with confidence and would purchase another P 365.

  • @glockoholics7512
    @glockoholics7512 6 ปีที่แล้ว +42

    Shooter #3 his riding the slide stop with his thumb. It happens with subcompacts pistols frequently with different hand sizes.

    • @mohawk3371
      @mohawk3371 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You're assuming this, and you don't know this for a fact. Also riding the slide release would explain the slide not locking back on the last round, it does not explain the pistol repeatedly failing to go into battery.

    • @Banshee365
      @Banshee365 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      He’s also riding the slide with his thumb, guaranteed. When you put pressure on the slide with your thumb you can cause FTE’s, failure to return to battery and all sorts of stuff. You can really tell he doesn’t shoot very much.

    • @mohawk3371
      @mohawk3371 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Banshee365 it may be true that riding the slide is contributing to the malfunctions. However, not every pistol react the same way to the same level of pressure being applied to the slide. How much slide pressure is required to cause a malfunction depends on the slide velocity, the recoil spring, and excessive internal friction due to tight tolerances, or something obstructing the movement of the slide. From the number of people experiencing these types of malfunctions with this pistol, it seems to me that it is much more sensitive ti pressure being applied to the slide, then other pistols of that size. I have quite a few pistols, including several small subcompact and even pocket pistols, and I tend have a high grip, and ride the slide a little bit on all of them, yet never experienced these types of malfunctions.

    • @glockoholics7512
      @glockoholics7512 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      mo hawk: I have over 1,800 rds through my P365 & I’ve had ZERO malfunctions. Every shooter is different as this video proves. Two of the 3 shooters had no problems whatsoever. When shooting these small subcompact pistols I think a modified grip is best. Thumb placement is key to running them smoothly. Obviously the 3rd shooter was doing something different in the video & he even admitted he was riding the slide lock in the video. The P365 has gotten a bad rap but not all the issues are gun related. This video proves my point.

    • @mohawk3371
      @mohawk3371 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@glockoholics7512 when you have that high percentage of pistols on the market having failures, and that high percentage of people that have a problem with this pistol, it is not likely that it's just the habits of the shooter that's the problem. As I said it's quite possible that pressure on the slide is contributing to the malfunctions, but given the number of people having these types of issues with the p365 it seems evident that it is more sensitive to that sort of thing than other pistols and its class. Every gun is physically different and I'm glad your example works well for you, but there's clearly an issue with either the design, or Sig's manufacturing process for this pistol.

    7 out of 10 of the P365s I sold when they came out have gone back to Sig for repair. Not a good ratio. If the trigger reset spring issue (spring that drags on mag) hasn't been fixed then it's still no-bueno. We've seen that spring break from fast mag changes and the lip of the back of the mag catching on that spring and breaking it. The result is a gun that only fires when held upside-down. Sig, get your act together. This is the third gun in a row that has major issues (the others being the P320 drop safe issue, and the MCX bolt issue)

When I go to train or shoot for fun, it's an all day thing and can go anywhere from 500-1000 rounds combined on the lower end. I normally don't shoot less than 350 FMJ 124g 9mm rounds, 150 rounds of HST 147g +p 9mm(carry and HD guns only), 50-100 rounds of .380 for my pocket gun, 250 5.56 rounds for my HD rifle; that's weekly/bi-weekly(I get antsy if I miss a week and still take my carry pistol indoors for 250 rounds if I get a couple hours) 120 birdshot, 50 buckshot, 25-30 slugs in my HD shotgun when outdoors, slugs only indoors. I may skip the shotgun and only take it monthly if inconvenient. Any less than this, and I feel a small decline in my performance...I'd assume the same with other people whether they realize it or not. I'll forego luxuries before I forego practice time, dry firing is NOT enough: buy cheap Tula/Wolf and clean more frequently(after every trip) if it means being able to still shoot. It was returned fairly quickly and have had not one problem since.I looks to me that you are using quality ammo, you are seasoned shooters. This is a clear example that this device needs the attention of a Sig professional. It is free shipping both ways. I do not think you want to waste any more time until Sig had corrected the problems that exist. I had the "Voluntary upgrade on my Sig 320. I could not belive the amount of work that Sig performed. Interesting. I'm not a hater or fanboy of any firearm manufacturer. I have a P365 and have better than a 1000 rounds through mine. NO PROBLEMS. In fact. I left my P365 in the rod locker of my bass boat during July Alabama heat and humidity by accident for about 2 weeks. The damn thing did have rust on the front and rear sights. And had about 300 rounds through it without a cleaning. Shot about a 100 rounds through for kicks and didn't have a single problem. Yeah. afterward I showed it the love and gave it a full spa day and it looks as good as new. Perhaps I got the golden nugget of the bunch and got lucky. But I refuse to be a hater. I respect the research and development process. What I find very interesting is that US Army is investing mega millions in the P320 (M17) and several countries around the world have placed great faith in the Sig product line. And yep the 320 had some issues as well. And truthfully, I think it was a bad idea for the US Army to reject the M9A3 that would have been a much easier transition for the armories and soldiers over the M17. And that is not a rip on Sig or Beretta. Perhaps, just perhaps Sig did not fully vet the firearm before marketing. But the M16 had a boat load of problems in Viet Nam. But not too many people 50yrs later would say the AR platform was a failure. And Sig has lost and spent a boat load of money honestly trying to rectify the problems. Instead of being haters, be developers. The world would work better that way.

      Good point on the M16.. gives some perspective for sure. It is interesting though that a major brand such as Sig would have so many little issues with a new pistol. I guess that is the result of pushing the envelope with what's possible in a subcompact.

I have also experienced the problem of the slide not locking back, and I know it's because of my grip . . . I attribute this problem to the fact that it's so much smaller than my other pistols. The P365 requires a commitment to train with it. GREAT VIDEO!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your follow-up videos on this gun.

    I have 2500 plus hundred rounds through my 365 without a single issue firing every round. Mine is a second gen and was purchased in May of 2018!
    My front sight broke off while firing at around 2000 rounds or so. I called Sig and they sent me another one out and I received it just a few days later and have continued with zero issue.
    I love the gun.
    FYI- I think it is important to understand the uniqueness of the magazine capacity in relation to its size. Yes it is a double stack however, it is much thinner than a any other double stack made. It’s just a slightly thicker than a glock 43 single stack mag.
    My glock 42 mag with the SI extension on it giving it two extra rounds for a total of 8 in the mag is taller than the 365 mag holding 12 rounds. My point is that the Sig365 holds way more rounds than the glock 42,43 or even the 26 and it is smaller than all of them!
    As for recoil, in my opinion, it is less snappy than the G43. It’s less angry of a snap and very very manageable. I promise this to be true! I carry it with the Sig 115grain defense ammo and practice with a variety of 115grain ball ammo and it shoots super great. Interesting idea on the porting though and I think I will try doing that to mine!
    Did I tell you that this gun is smaller than my Glock42 and holds 12+1 rounds! Pretty fantastical! HA!
    Biggest negative in my view is Sig’s lack of addressing the issues with the first gen of the P365 publicly!
    They should have made a solid TH-cam video talking about it openly and telling everyone what they were going to do to make the situation right and then kept us up to date as they solved it. That to me would have been superb integrity. Other than that, Sig makes sole of the best firearms out there.
    👍🏼

    Ive owned this gun for 2 months and have 1500 rounds through it(all 1500 have had primer drag). Ive not encountered any issues with its passed 350 rounds. I had the same issue with the gun not going into battery caused by the firing pin assembly sliding the backplate down. But like i said after the first 350 rounds i never had an issue with going into battery, or any other issues at all. Other than the slide not staying open when newer shooters handle the gun i havent been dissapointed in this product and have really been enjoying taking it to the range.
    About 350 of the rounds ive shot through the gun have been factory loads other than that the rest have been handloads. Once i encountered the issue with it not going into battery i lightened my handloads and i like to think that may have been the reason it has been fine since. Every time i had the battery issue (which was 3 or 4 times) i was shooting my reloads.
    I hope this info is helpful to other shooters out there!

I am having to learn to rest my weak thumb on the accessory slot and not higher on the slide. The real problem is my big hands using a small gun. My P365 is a Gen 1 that's had over 2000 rounds through it without a problem. Does the striker drag on the primers? Yea but then again I've seen the striker drag on my Shield. Personally, while I think the P365 is working its way through growing pains, I think the bigger problem is that there are too many "drama queens" looking to knock competitors to their preferred pistol manufacturer. On the other hand, I think companies like SIG need to get more of these pistols out into the field for detailed and high use testing BEFORE they release them to the public. Better to work out the bugs using someone OTHER than the end user.

      Many of the users "knocking sig" love Sig Sauer. They just call it how they see it. To write their criticisms off as "drama queens looking to knock competitors" is disingenuous and asinine. To be clear, the issue with the primer drag and broken strikers is one of engineering, it cannot be completely fixed with rolling updates. The barrel begins to drop while the striker is stil in contact with the primer, putting vertical wear and stress on a part designed to deal with horizontal stress and wear.

Just saying. I hope sig gets it together because I want to love this gun. As was stated by OP, it’s ridiculous that sig is relying on customers to perform the bug testing for them.

      @@user-vv7fc4sj1r Yes because I am just dying to convince YOU! My world is just incomplete without Juice206's approval... Sig has 100mil+ contract with the army, they don't care about the pennies they scrape up on the civilian market; their reputation is already trash and they know it. They designed the p365 as a backup if they didn't get the contract, which they got, now they are just trying to get the money they spent on designing the p365 back, and THAT'S IT. They aren't trying to compete with Glock or anybody on the civilian market anymore.

      @@danielhesse8600 Gotta love all these "White Knights" who feel compelled to defend these isolated incidents with P365's. Aside from my P365, I know 5 or 6 other people in my local community who own P365's and have no major issues with them. Odd that none of these P365's are problematic yet the firearm is somehow considered to be bad because a bunch of anonymous people on web forums "claim" to have problems (along with a few TH-camrs). Making negative comments about a firearm based on anonymous reports and opinions, to quote you, is both disingenuous and asinine. What I find most entertaining is that there are numerous reports online about primer drag with Shields and G43's yet nobody complains about primer drag on them, only on the P365. The issue is well known with many sub-compact striker fired pistols.

    Once upon a time I was a hater of this pistol. I spewed the same ignorance of many on comment boards across the gun channel community. I'll admit, the first ones gave me a very R51-Esq manufacturing vibe which fueled my hate. I patiently waited for Sig to work out all the bugs and bought one born on November 18, 2018 and I'm here to tell you that I have never been so in love with a handgun. 351 rounds deep without any malfunctions OF ANY KIND. Am I going to keep my Shield? You bet. Do I trust my G19 more? Absolutely, but if this P365 continues it's flawless streek, those others will become safe queens. It took almost 2 years to get it right, but Sig wins with this pistol.

    I believe the p365 is a game changer in the ccw world. Regarding primer drags, Glock 43, S&W Shield and some of the other sub compacts exhibit primer drags. I believe this is a non issue and inherent on small platforms. Springy trigger maybe a break in thing. Broken firing pins was a quality control issue that resulted in the pins be brittle and breakage occurred due to dry firing, Sig has addressed this issue. Some carry guns will never see 500 rounds.

    Perfect example of not every gun fits every shooter. I've been keeping my eye on the P365 videos to see if Sig is working out the kinks. I love shooting steel, love to see people demonstrating safety as well. That being said, put your eye pro on Matt. Especially when shooting steel. Very rarely is there splash back, but I've seen it happen several times. Sometimes the shooter gets it, sometimes the range safety officer.

    Mine is a sample size of only one, but I have 1500 rounds through my P365 with no problems so far. Some folks are happy shooting just one box of ammo, and others could shoot 5 or 10 thousand rounds and still be sure that the very next round will be the catastrophic failure. I still shoot mine regularly, and I am satisfied enough to carry it daily. If you think it's a trash gun, then don't buy it. At the end of the day, it is up to YOU what you buy, and it is also YOUR call as to when it has been tested to satisfaction, whether that is a with single box of ammo or 10 thousand plus rounds. It's all personal preference.

    I think I speak for everyone who is considering purchasing this gun, we would love to see a burn down. With the striker redesign, I believe that the broken striker issue has been resolved and, being cognizant of the trigger return spring protruding into the magwell and reducing its profile, if it needs it (like you did), to prevent it from disconnecting takes care of all the major problems people have been having with it. That said, the best way to know for sure would be to sling a lot of lead down range and see if the design is inherently flawed or if the rolling changes allow it to perform as intended. I know seeing how it fares under the extreme conditions of a burn down would help me make a final opinion of this potentially awesome and very innovative micro!

    You guys keep saying 12 rounds... The P365 holds 13 rounds. One in the chamber and twelve in the 12 round magazine. This tiny gun holds 13 rounds of 9mm ammo... I went from carrying a Glock 30 (45ACP), for the past 20 years, to the Sig P365. It felt like I went from carrying a brick to, at times, not even realizing that I was even carrying. That's how huge of a difference there is in weight and size. So far, I love this piece and definitely recommend checking it out at your shooting range... Thumbs up on the video and a sub from me... Stay safe... Rico

      Ricovette - I could’t have said it better. I too carried a Glock 30s for years and felt the need to carry something easier to conceal during the summer months. I’m a .45 fan but the Sig365 won me over and it’s my first 9mm pistol I’ve owned after 25 years of shooting .45 pistols.
