Having the guitar headstock close to eye level at 45deg is optimal position similar to what classical guitarist do. However, some strats or most les paul body shape guitars tend to be heavier and fall naturally in a lesser angle while playing standing up. Hi. In the video you can see that my strap allows me to preserve the steep angle without issues. I simply adjust the guitar and it sticks into position. I suppose you could tape or safety pin rug padding to the inside of the strap. That would provide some cushion and stick to your shirt at the desired angle. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
