    Is it possible to reach advanced level speed of shredding by using this type of holding pick? I use this standard holding of pick however sometimes i have difficulties with right hand speed. So just wanted to now is it because of picking hand or i just need more practice?

      Hi. I learned this method watching a number of 80's shredders back in the day. There are other options but this one fits my style as it allows me to use my fingers for hybrid picking techniques. My videos are geared toward beginners. To learn about speed I would look up videos dealing with speed bursting or "chunking". You can also check out some of the "cracking the code" videos on YT as well...that guy is nuts. Thanks for watching.

    @levelsforguitar I have a question on how to play scales or fretting the notes of melodic lines. I noticed that if I fret the 1st note using mere finger strength the other fingers aren't in ready position therefore I have to curl or draw back and manouver each of the other fingers to fret the following notes. This is tedious especially when we have to do fast runs. However when I fret the 1st note together with a grip hand strength the other fingers seem to curl along in somewhat ready position so much so that I just have to focus on the 1st note and land the rest naturally. This work well especially if you are doing 1234, 124, 134 patterns on the string. So what is the proper way to fret the guitar? 1) Manouver each finger to desired frets or 2) Focus the curl and grip on the 1st note to get the others to curl along and land the rest naturally? Which is the proper technique that should work best in the long run?

    The point of attack, with the picking hand, is actually a form of tone control. As you move away from the bridge, you change the tone to a less harsh sound. I even find myself strumming close to the neck when I'm looking for a full bodied rythem tone.

    Hello, thank you for your lessons! I have a question regarding finger placement on the strings. Lets say I’m practicing a scale on the A string, my fingers sometimes slightly touch the D string. Is that okay, or should I aim for my fingers to only touch the string I’m practicing on?

    • @LevelsForGuitar
      @LevelsForGuitar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is nothing wrong with blocking a neighboring string when playing scales. In fact this is a common muting technique. The important thig about the scale exercise is to aim for the fingertips and play near the frets. When playing chords you will want to roll up more on the fingertips to avoid blocking notes. Hope thins helps and thanks for watching.

    If you have a wammy bar, you should NOT rest your hand in the bridge because it’ll cause the bridge to move. This is because the bridge is floating. Thus the sound will be negatively impacted and discordant.

    • @LevelsForGuitar
      @LevelsForGuitar 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Many great players perform and teach contact as well as non contact with the bridge. Both work well. If you are getting a discordant sound then try using lighter pressure. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

It is designed to facilitate the playing positions described here, and in fact many more. It's highly adjustable, fits practically any body size, and allows one to keep both feet flat on the ground. Many believe this is better for our backs, especially for those playing many hours, and years. Check it out! And thanks for the great video, Jason!
