Any one wants to know what the African backing is it's They're saying "Jabulani siyashada namhla". It's Zulu, a southern African language, and it's from the song "Sesiye Hamba". These words translate to "celebrate we are getting married today". That always fills my heart with such joy
Seattle native here. I love this song so much and it was wonderful to read your comment. I remember when this came out back in the 2000s. I was blasting it in my UW dorm 😂
The love of my life loves this song. I met him online when he came into my DMs. I didn’t even know he existed until he appeared out of no where and said hey. Ever since that one message, we’ve been boyfriends for a bit now. He said he loved me from the beginning. I never once found the love I have for him in anyone. Never thought about relationships, any of that. But he changed everything. He made me feel so happy, made me feel confident, made me love myself. I love him so much. I can’t wait to marry him one day. We are perfect for each other. We truly are. We both never felt such a deep connection before. I love you so much, Raymond ❤
i remember like 7 years ago since my parents were divorced one of our parents would drive my sisters and i to the other parents house and we would switch houses every friday, whenever my dad would drive us to our moms house we would play this everytime. we called it the friday song and are still listening to it to this day. and we love it, thanks for making fridays a bit less difficult.
I want to thank my dad for introducing me to this absolute banger when I was little, I randomly thought of it today and coming back to listen to it again brought back so many happy childhood memories we had together. I'm gonna ask him if he still remembers it! ☺️
I remember that time in Mexico. That beautiful night when the music roared at my ears, and this song playing. That special time where I just stared at the sky listening to this song, and all of the tough times it has pushed me through. Just listening, and thinking, what a beautiful world we have. Thank you for this music. Just thank you.
Danny Macaskill brought me here! Do a wheelie! Used to play this a lot when I was at uni... Then I forgot about it, and was reminded recently by that video. So good.
Holy Moly, this just popped into my head after maybe 15 years. I used to listen to this to pump me up to face school many/most days. Been needing that energy again, lately! Thanks Mint Royale, and De La!
Makes me try to think of ones that night beat it. Thought of: Steal My Sunshine (LEN) - maybe?? If I find another one I'll see if I can find this comment and edit it (might be hard to find though).
I really loved this song too! Another one that pumps me up in a similiar way is A-OK by Tai Verdes, and Sunshine Time by Coast Modern. Hope you enjoy those too!
@@y44ctt Just goes to show difference of opinion can be really massive. The way you phrased your comment was so bad that it made 'Show Me' by Mint Royale sound worse than before knowing that it was tainted by your comment.

I remember being 20 yo and messaging Neil for advice on music production. Couldn't believe he took time to respond in great detail. Huge Mint Royale fan!
Awesome story! I wrote in to a BMX parts maker over 20 years ago now and was amazed at the lengthy hand written response, it's seriously cool when you get back so much more from your heroes than you put in.
I sadly do not remember the first time I heard this song, likely on Pandora or something. But I am glad it's in my life and I'm also glad to see it in the lives of many others. :)
I discovered this song the day my meticulously loved car was totalled in a hit and run. It was with me for school, work, 3 moves, car shows, and even when I proposed to the love of my life. Re-listening to this has been hard, but I can't help but smile remembering over 100k miles of adventures. ♡
Back in the early days of highschool I found this while watching snowboarding vids with my bro before we hit the slopes the next morning.this song was the music for an epic pow vid....I always get nostalgic when this plays
I found mint royale randomly in 2006. I was a car thief and it was stuck in one of the CD players. We ended up enjoying it so much that we spent an hour trashing the CD player retrieving the disk. Tragedy struck when my best friend overdosed in a police cell aged 17 and I left that life of crime. A lot has changed since then but I've never stopped listening to your music. Luckily the owner of the car had good taste. All the best for your future ❤️
@@naebae9127 It was 'See you in the Morning' We were actually caught through cctv a few weeks later and had to apologise to the owner face to face as restorative justice. He never asked for his CD back. He told us if it had taken 2 mins longer to steal the car he would have caught us and beat us black and blue 😂
My teacher plays this song every Friday at the end of class, just calling it the “Friday Song” and I’ve spent almost an hour trying to find it, I’ve finally won.
My grandmother and I used to jam out to this ❤ the joy and tears I feel and experience is something I would fight to protect! So thank you! Have a beautiful day and do something that scares you 🤘

Wey. Fue lo mismo que sentí cuando la escuché en el radio hace unos meses!
Era como el 2000 o 2001 por ahi, esa rola pasaba en RA
2001, yo estaba en la prepa. Que buenos recuerdos.
Pos is underrated as a rapper and this track is perfect at evoking that Daisy era vibe.

Such a fun edit!
De La Soul's collabos with non-rappers are always mind-blowing
For real! Seriously. Gorillaz too.
Check out rocket fuel with dj shadow. Very fun track too

One of the top 1000 maybe (still top less than 0.1%)
I believe you're right
I've never really forgotten this song but I've just rediscovered it and I'm absolutely rinsing it. And I love it.
