Midlife runner at the age of 40 and after over 7 years of running I’ve come to conclusion I’m just not a super fast person when it comes to running sub 750-7 min paces…. My body burns out when I go below 825-8 min paces for longer than 10 or 13 miles max…. I can go 945-10 min paces for hours and hours and hours 20-23 plus miles at low heart rate. But no matter how much I train or work I put in 8 min to 750 paces always feel fast and burn me down . So I’ve just accepted I’m long endurance guy if I can one day run easy 3 45 marathon I be happy with that it is what it is. Everybody’s genetic limits are different in distance running and every time I try get faster always hate running and don’t enjoy the journey. So for now on I’ll e just running to get my long run pace faster and just enjoy it for running long and at low heart rate. What’s point killing yourself if your body just gets injured and shutdown . If I can run solid marathon without hitting wall that make me happy at end day just glad I can run long distance healthy.
Timely reflections. I just cracked open Matt Fitzgeralds’ Racing Weight. Need to keep it simple in 2025, not aggressively make changes but my diet most def. needs to be my key to improving on the road complimenting my plans etc. I know I should really just eat alongside my wife who is flawless in that department….uhhhhhh…bye.
I love the cloudeclipse. It is wonderfully unremarkable. A great everyday shoe for racking up the km's while protecting the legs. i did get mine for a steal at 120$ Cad... at that price, amazing, probably not worth it at full price however.
Short sleeves and gloves?! I wear two layers in 25F and 2 miles in I have to take off my gloves because my hands get too hot. It’s so freeing to taken them off too! It’s kinda like losing those extra lbs.
Love these running videos. It's more entertaining than classroom discussions. Always here for the jokes.
That last strategy is excellent Andrew 👍🏼. Have a great family Christmas 🎄.
You too, Luis! Thanks for the support over the years. I will have to step up the joke game in 2025
😂 loved that #1 strategy! I am entertained
Save the best one for last, always
More runners need to bring up weight IMO.
Also- “I never ran in high school or college, all I did was drugs” 😂relatable

next video should be the click bait " how many minutes a day do you need to do chair yoga to run a sub 3 marathon?"
The one on Sunday, the annual Rundies AWards has plenty of sitting. lol. I can squeeze out a sub 3 for sure
Rooting for midlife mobility in 2025❤

I'm so looking forward to my completely unremarkable run tomorrow on Xmas Day in the On Cloud Eclipse.

They're shitty gloves lol. Not sure how good they would be in actual cold weather
A minute in...with a poptart in hand...
