He said Pitou was more powerful than him to be humble. Morel and Knovv even say so themselves. You can see he was bullshitting when Pitou got intimidated by Netero’s appearance he just blew her away with one hit.

The narrator states that the only reason Pitou was able to stop herself at all is ‘cause her hatsu has two special conditions in that Pitou’s body is perpetually attached to Doctor Blythe and that Doctor Blythe can’t move at all. Otherwise, Pitou would’ve kept going.
If we are talking specifically about the amount of aura, Pitou has much more power than Netero, which is what Netero might have been talking about. And also, that was Netero before meditation. But none of this necessarily means that Pitou's going to defeat Netero in a fight.

Yep exactly, it was more like a burst of Aura rather than an bhodisatva attack and it looked different than which Netero used against Meruem. We can also see Bhodisatvas hand behind the burst of aura if we pause at the right time, it didn't actually hit Pitou. And putou seeing Neteros hands was only because of her "infinitely compressing her awareness and stopping the sensation of time itself" as mentioned in the manga and he still couldn't see Neteros bhodisatva.

Netero was 100 percent stronger than pitou, he is just a humble guy. He said the same thing about Knov and Morel being stronger than him and they were clearly not even in the same league as him. I believe that prime netero would have troubled the king more but in the end would lose.
One of the prime issues with your argument that adult Gon is supposedly twice as strong as Netero comes from the fact that all Netero said to Pitou when he attacked him was, “Fly away, little bug” which implies his attack was to create distance and not to deal destruction, necessarily. It’s pretty easy to ascertain that Netero would defeat Pitou without tremendous difficulty

I wouldn't even consider that Meruem was in his prime besides his analytical skills. He never really developed any unique abilities besides his critical thinking developed playing against Komugi.

While ants do take attributes from the animals the queen had ingested, The King was the only ant able to steal the ability of those he ate directly. Not to mention the manga also states this. When Netero said he was weaker than Pitou, I assume he meant his aura was weaker than Pitou's, not that he was weaker in terms of overall combat ability.
Kinda a stupid point to try and make considering that the word "weaker" in this context was only ever intended to refer to aura, and is the only reason that comment was even referenced.
Netero says that he was trying to keep Pitou away, not kill them. Not to mention Netero was probably trying to conserve as much strength for his fight with Meruem. So he was most likely trying to keep Pitou as far away as possible while minimizing the amount of energy he attacked with.

I think you have to take into consideration that Netero, although not as strong, he had decades of experience, knowledge, training and practice. The man basically lived in mountaints and meditated, which makes him like a personification of harmony & balance. In that aspect, we can say that he's calm like the water and no one is as focused as him. If I remember correctly, there even was an analogy during their fight with a thread through the eye of the needle. So I believe no one could be as precise as Netero, the man is like Bruce Lee. He can make the best out of this and reach his potential like none other. So while Netero is like the water, Gon's transformation is like a fire, an explosion. Definitely more intense and threatening. He might've had a Nen intensity that surpassed that of Netero and was about the level of the King, but even so, it was not polished. It was raw rage, instinct and power. And this is one of the reasons why some of us love HxH, because through skill, technique, experience and even luck, you could defeat those that are much more "powerful" than you.

I feel the reason they made him an enhancer was to sort of elude that enhancers are special in some way and that Gons nen type isnt going to limit his abilities because I mean cmon neteros strongest attack was zero hand which is emitter and conjuration by default yet hes an enhancer
He never used transmutation, 100 type guanyin budhisattva is an emitted construct that he then manipulates in order to attack. He probably also enhances the construct in order to make it hit harder
Netero is an enhancer Transmuter- he changed the aura into a hardened statue Manipulator- he moves the statue by moving his own body Emitter- the aura used in the statue
When Gon fought Pitou, it seemed like he was unfazed by losing his arm, i think that he saw it coming, and later he put his arm through Pitou's chest saying that it was a "Gift", so i think that was his plan, and it seemed like Gon was holding back quite a bit after he smashed Pitou's head.
It is kind of a recurring theme of the ark. The and queen arrives with without an arm, Kite sacrifices his arm to push Killua and Gon away from Pitou, Meruem rips his arm off to apologize to Komugi, Pitou breaks her arm to prove she is telling the truth to Gon, Netero loses his arm to Meruem (also, same arm and leg he wasnt using when training with Killua and Gon on the Hunter Exam Ark) Gon loses his Arm... so everything comes full circle
Also humans arent as durable as chimera ants. Which means he might have significantly more nen then pitou or meruem. But if hes not gaurding himself hes more vulnerable

Most of those are hard to gauge, as few have been in detailed fights. We have only seen one single fight with Silva, and it was with help from his father. Hisoka we can scale with Chrollo. I don't think we have ever seen Illumi fight (unless its in the Manga past where I read, haven't fully caught up). Feitan has only fought Zazan, and how are we supposed to scale her when she herself hadn't fought anyone else? Zazan also kind of came out of nowhere with her strength. She was a squadron leader (who we have seen being anywhere from as weak as Meleoron to as strong as Leol) yet she somehow boasted power to make a Phantom Troupe fighter go all out. Maybe Zazan was also comparable to other Squadron Leaders such as Leol and Cheetu, and Phantom Troupes just aren't as strong as we first thought? Doubt it. Makes more sense that Zazan was secretly the strongest non-Royal Guard Chimera Ant, for the sole reason of giving us a good fight with a Phantom Troupe member.

You think 2x damage would still be "hardly anything"? If you want to use numbers, Meruem has a damage resit value of 10k, and Netero hits for 9.5k, its not enough to crack his defense but it bangs him up a little bit after quite a few hits -- DOUBLING that is insane, that would be in the realm of potentially 1 shotting. Doubling power and doubling speed is also quadratic, any other traits you can add to that are beyond simple 2x even if you're underestimating what 2x really is.
I dont think even then netero could one shot the king. However I bet he could win when the time it takes to kill the king is reduced by at least half and the Buddha is twice as proficient/much harder to get through the defense. He could just kinda kill him through attrition
Everything Netero did under his own power hardly even inconvenienced Meruem. He wasn't even actively trying to hurt him and when he did he broke down Net's ultimate technique in a few minutes and took away two of his limbs within seconds. That technique's ultimate offensive barely fazed him. Netero had amazing skill and nen techniques that let him put in a good showing but in terms of raw power he was like an ant himself next to the king, I got the impression he would've had to have been a whole lotta leagues higher than he was to do any kind of meaningful or significant damage. No idea how prime Netero would've done, any answer is purely speculatory because we barely know anything about him, but personally I seriously doubt he could win and I'm pretty sure he would've had to have been hitting with far more than double the force to properly hurt Meruem. Power scaling is fake and Togashi definitely didn't have any of this numbers shit in mind when he designed the characters and wrote the fight. Our takeaway was supposed to be: Netero is insanely strong but pretty much nothing compared to even an immature chimera ant king. Hence Netero going psycho and triggering the bomb, he realized there was literally jackshit he could ever do to Meruem with his own strength.
Akachukwu Nnamdi twice as many hits plus twice as fast equals 4x the damage. Or in other words not nearly enough to kill meruem and at best land a cut or two. The only reason the original went on as long as it did (still about a minute) was because Meruem was actively avoiding killing Netero. In a full fight, even prime netero is catching a fade.
this is actually incorrect and an error in translation, what she really said is that he has the power to reach the king basically saying he has a chance at killing him but not an equal to him, which is obvious if you think about how insane meruems durability is gon had his arm cut off by pitou meanwhile meruem took a point blank zero hand and only had minor wounds. not even counting his insane intelligence and strategy gon would have to be a quite a bit stronger and faster than him to negate his strategic mind also post-rose meruem would thrash him easily
I think the full quote was "his fangs could reach the King" which is really ambiguous. "Fangs" could mean attacks, as in Gon can hurt and fight Meruem but not necessarily kill him. Alternatively it might be more "fangs" as used by large cats and predators, meaning the killing blow. "Reach" might even just mean he could get past the three Royal Guards. Basically assessing Gon as being comparable to Meruem based on that statement alone strikes me as being a bit irrational. That being said Gon was able to increase his Nen from sustaining Ren for 55 minutes to over 3 hours in just ten days of training, considering his adult state would've taken decades for him to achieve naturally I think it's safe to say he'd be dozens of times stronger, certainly far above powerful Hunters like Morel or Kite. Gon and Killlua are insanely talented, Killua's great grandfather was apparently so skilled that Netero was praised for surviving a fight with him. Not being equal to him, surviving. If Killua's considered the most gifted Zoldyck in history when THAT guy is still alive, I think it's safe to say he and Gon have the potential to be far above Netero at their respective peaks. Since even an old and decrepit Netero could fight and harm a restrained Meruem slightly, I'd argue that Gon as an adult probably could kill him.
Gon was caught off guard by pitou when his arm got cut off, meruem does have good strategy and his really smart but gon doesn’t think, I mean he does but you know, he’s simple minded, which makes him really unpredictable. Plus “Plot Armor”

That kick by Gon on Pitou was definitely enhanced by Nen my dude, just cause it isn't a literal usage of Hatsu doesn't mean that Nen isn't being used to power the attack.
Wouldn't that still be called Hatsu? AFAIK hatsu is the 'expression' of nen, Wing breaks a wall and calls that Hatsu, so Gon's kick would too as he was using aura in his whole body equally
Nen isn't just quantifiable in size, but quantifiable in the amount of power inside of it. It is powered by the user's aura. En is what defines the amount of quantifiable size, volume, and mass for one's nen that translates outside of their body in Hunter x Hunter. Ren is also another application similar that explosively projects this energy, but En allows the user to feel anything that walks into the proximity of their aura. It can be assumed that Gon was just normally applying his aura in the form of Ten during the battle with his massive nen reserves in the transformed state.

That, too. Gon had formed a contract, or in more specific terms, a VOW. His building up anger over the course of many adventures and building up rage had been driven to the point where his conviction was strong enough to form a contract granting him immensely enhanced and refined power that would otherwise originate from years and years of training and preparation. With the contract administered, he gained power that, in Neferpitou's words, came near or rivaled the power of the king (Mereum) and he also took Neferpitou out in a few hits. The contract had essentially transformed Gon beyond his regular limitations.

#1 Key factor that helped Meruem beat Netero is Komugi. Oh, don't tell me ya'll forgot about Komugi? Komugi taught him the art of anticipating enemy actions and finding rhythm. Meruem even brought it up himself during his fight with Netero. Meruem & Netero's full fight didn't even last 5 minutes in real time, and during that time frame Meruem started feeling pain. Prime Netero was stronger, which means he would've done more damage to Meruem, quicker. Those Bodhisattva slaps are powerful, Meruem made it look like nothing because he's that OP. However in due time, it'll wear on him and slow him down. Netero on the other hand can do that all day. So to circle back to my point, If Meruem didn't know how to figure out Netero's bias to take advantage of the opening, he would've died before he could land 1 hit. The brunt of Netero's attacks will gradually slow Meruem down, weakening him, and eventually killing him.
lol so lets maximize netero and minimize meruem. giving netero every advantage and stripping meruem of any skills he had so hes just a dumb brute with an incredible body.. yeah put it that way it makes it a more even match.. but lets be real meruem would not only adapt eventually he would grow his nen too. you forget hes a natural born genius. he beat masters of other strategy games shortly after his first time playing the games. we have seen other characters develop their nen mid combat and hes no exception. he could take many many more hits from netero even in his prime. he felt very slight pain after thousands of hits. he had a ways to go.

Netero landed thousands of hits before Meruem could even touch him. He began to feel pain within a few minutes. When swatted away, Pitou is visibly worried that Netero and Zeno would locate the King before she could reach him. So was Pouf when Zeno showers Dragon Dive. Which might suggest that Pitou and Pouf actually considered that Zeno and Netero might pose a risk to Meruem. Just a thought

Double the speed, strength and knockbacks of the attack means it hits way way harder and would prolounge and possibly even negate Mereums ability to get close to Netero. Mereum eventually started feeling pain and obviously that would happen much much faster with a prime Netero. Additionally, I believe Netero was only being humble when he said that Pitou was stronger than him. He even said that Morel was around as strong or even stronger than him, but when he released his nen, it made Morel literally shit himself, and then when Netero trained up a bit to get rid of the rust, he smacked Pitou so hard that she was panicking for the King and wanted to get back there asap. She may not have been too damaged by it, but you have to remember, earlier in the arc Mereum tries to kill Pitou and commends her as she survives the attack
Don’t also forget that netero wasn’t even trying to injure pitou or kill her, he was trying to send her far away so that she couldn’t come back in time. If he used his third hand or first hand on pitou, she’d easily be injured heavily

There's also the fact that when Netero was in his prime, he fought Maha, zeno's grandfather and was simply praised for surviving against him. I find it pretty terrific that there is a human who could rival 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva.
Actually Netero might win because the amount of force his Guanyin bodhisattva would be exponential given he has twice the acceleration and twice the amount or mass of nen output. Actually the premise clearly states that when nen is activated, it surrounds the host with a layer of force which introduce a coefficient of 0.2 which is applied to all force input and output. With nens added effect of its user that adds a power bias of about 80~100 pascals, the final formula equates to about e=mc^2 🤓

Yeah, also nobody mentions the fact that the damage he sustained from the zero hand was no more than shallow cuts and scratches, he wasn't even bleeding from the cuts! Thats not how nen works, if the attack does any damage that means it reached his body and made a couple of little openings in his nen armor (the aura protecting him ), which means that any more power increase after that point will have a bigger result than it normaly would. I think that double the power might remove his nen armor taking all the damage thus a critical hit or killing him

It's coming back in anime form eventually. They production company already copyrighted some noticeably being Hunter X Hunter titles and names plus they've been doing voice acting listings in Japan that seem to be for Hunter X Hunter. So it's pretty clear it'll make a return it's just he takes breaks from the manga so often for other projects it takes forever to have enough material to adapt into a new anime season since I'm assuming they want at least double the episodes what the initial run had in order to properly secure a spot in active anime series and grab a wider audience to have a reason to to continue making them after this, hopefully, next batch of episodes. Basically what was once niche has had an extreme impact on anime and the fan base is gigantic now compared to when it was new so they have a profitable world wide series they're just waiting for more material so the anime can run long enough to make current fans happy while bringing in new ones. With such a large established fan base right now, the new anime series will be suggested by the established fans to people who haven't watched or read the series so that's the reason why they need to be able to make about 2 full seasons.

During the fight it was narrated that Meruem started to feel a numbing from the attacks. The real question is would Netero's nen outlast Meruem's. If Prime Netero could knock Meruem back further and deal more damage, the question would be whether or not Meruem's full speed could counter the difference. If yes then Meruem definitely wins, if not then it's a battle of attrition on who's nen could outlast who's.
I wonder what Meruem's plan would be if he wasn't in that tomb environment for his fight against Prime Netero. The presence of so many pillars definitely helped his strategy of rushing at Netero from all angles at max speed, so if the fight took place in, say, a barren, flat wasteland, I'd like to see what sort of plan Meruem comes up with to avoid just being smacked away for miles each time he gets close.
Hard to say because Meruem never showed us whatever abilities that he got from eating human. Or maybe he will just keeps attacking until Netero lost his stamina.

He was the strongest human in Moebius (the LAKE surrounded by the Dark Continent in which the entirety of HxH's plot took place so far, which mistakenly is called an ocean) and the fact that he and a few others had permission to go to the DC are testament of his strength. However, Netero himself said that there are now at least a handful of stronger people than him, some 60 to 80 years after his prime. I firmly believe one of them is Ging.
It was stated that Ging is a top 5 hunter. Isaac stated he's not in the top 5 anymore. So clearly Ging could beat him now, while Isaac in his prime would have been much stronger than the Isaac we saw fight Meruem. Although I wouldn't put too much stock into the Dark Continent exhibitions, beyond that it validated his status as a top 5 hunter in his prime. There were only 2 exhibitions. He didn't conquer anything there; he just fought for survival. That could mean anything. He certainly was unlikely to have been encountering opponents of Meruem's caliber there, because otherwise he wouldn't have said he felt unsatisfied by his ventures for mere survival. More likely he was outclassed and laid low in order to return alive. I think prime Isaac could have defeated pre-nuke Meruem, assuming Meruem gave him the same handicaps. He probably would have been slightly weaker than Ging. I'm convinced the Freecs family is the strongest lineage in HxH. Don is the only hunter who's been long-term on the DC, Ging being the youngest hunter in his era (implying younger than Netero) on top of everything else he's accomplished, and Gon matching the strongest Zoldyck in his generation in spite of having vastly inferior combat training.

I agree completely. Even if we put his CLEAR raw nen advantage aside, Mereum purely physically is on a completely different level then Netero, even the prime version. Hell even base Pitou would probably kick Neteros ass in a non-nen fight at his prime. Now, admittedly Meruem was a specialist, so his aura would be 40% as effective at enhancing his physical attributes, vs Netero, who is an enhancer. This being said, the sheer amount of aura again PITOU had over Netero was ridiculous, non the less Meruem, and would more then compensate for this disparity.

I think people in general are underestimating how much stronger the RG were because Youpi wasn't a very competent fighter even though he was monstrously strong, Pouf didn't even try and their only skilled combatant was Pitou who didn't get a chance to show anything. Pitou's aura should be around 5 time Netero's aura. Pitou's raw physicality should be several time stronger than even Netero and we've seen her cross a distance of a mile in a mere couple of seconds. She would annihilate Netero in a normal fight without technique. Netero's only weapon that can compete with the RG and the King is the technique created from his madness, the hundred arm Bodhisattva. It's not a normal technique, it's not proportional to Netero's strength, that's why the king considered him special, because his technique was so much beyond what his actual power was, like he broke some kind of limit. That's the reason why each time he shows his aura to someone, they not only say he's weaker than the RG but that he's so much weaker than them he doesn't have a chance. For that to be true, he needs to be waaaay weaker, and recovering a healthy adult body, as well as training his nen like he did it before the fight isn't gonna change that.

Though all of this is with the use of nen. I'd say the thing that gives Pitou a much larger advantage would just be defense more then anything. A full power Omni-Gon jajakken would have pretty much disassemble almost any hunter on an atomic level.... and it like.... caved her face in and caused her to pass out, rather then obliterating all traces of time and space in a 40msq radius as one may normally imagine it too. The insane thing is that Netero is a born enhancer and martial artist, but his ability is emission, manipulation, conjuration and transmutation to summon a giant stand while he only considers the best strike like it turn based combat. Prime Netero would have been giving Meruem hands in between each of his bodhisattva attacks, but still his zero hand had little to no effect, and even the rose couldn't do it without fall out. Meruem likely wins regardless, but I can see zero hand in his prime doing way more damage. The thing is, I think Netero would've won if he had opponents to train on that were Pitou level. It seems after he went to the DC, he took over the hunter association to raise up the next generation and found the zodiacs so he could have sparring partners that could survive his attacks.
Maybe the difference between *Netero* and *Adult Gon* are the intention. I guess, it's not really fair to compare their strength. That time, *Netero's* intention is not to kill *Pitou* but to cast her away. So probably, the power he used is just enough to hit her/him while *Gon's* intention was to kill.

Zero Hand managed to do only superficial damage to Meruem, scratching up his skin and giving him some light bruises but he didn't take any serious injuries. Even if we doubled the damage, that would only amount to cuts that bleed and some bigger bruises.

Still not enough to kill Meruem, maybe he would be able to destroy part of his limb. To kill him Netero's Zero Hand would have to be at least 3 times stronger based on the damage that old Netero's Zero hand did. Which is impossible because Netero even in his prime wasn't that strong.

The narrator states that the only reason Pitou was able to stop herself at all is ‘cause her hatsu has two special conditions in that Pitou’s body is perpetually attached to Doctor Blythe and that Doctor Blythe can’t move at all. Otherwise, Pitou would’ve kept going.
If we are talking specifically about the amount of aura, Pitou has much more power than Netero, which is what Netero might have been talking about. And also, that was Netero before meditation. But none of this necessarily means that Pitou's going to defeat Netero in a fight.

We can also see Bhodisatvas hand behind the burst of aura if we pause at the right time, it didn't actually hit Pitou. And putou seeing Neteros hands was only because of her "infinitely compressing her awareness and stopping the sensation of time itself" as mentioned in the manga and he still couldn't see Neteros bhodisatva.

@Brandon Piperjack nah dont think too hard. pitous natural base stats are above neteros and likely have always been above his even in his prime. tho netero is close enough to pitou in stats that his ability would most definitely be effective enough to kill pitou.
I think you have to take into consideration that Netero, although not as strong, he had decades of experience, knowledge, training and practice. The man basically lived in mountaints and meditated, which makes him like a personification of harmony & balance. In that aspect, we can say that he's calm like the water and no one is as focused as him.
If I remember correctly, there even was an analogy during their fight with a thread through the eye of the needle. So I believe no one could be as precise as Netero, the man is like Bruce Lee. He can make the best out of this and reach his potential like none other.
So while Netero is like the water, Gon's transformation is like a fire, an explosion. Definitely more intense and threatening. He might've had a Nen intensity that surpassed that of Netero and was about the level of the King, but even so, it was not polished. It was raw rage, instinct and power. And this is one of the reasons why some of us love HxH, because through skill, technique, experience and even luck, you could defeat those that are much more "powerful" than you.

I feel the reason they made him an enhancer was to sort of elude that enhancers are special in some way and that Gons nen type isnt going to limit his abilities because I mean cmon neteros strongest attack was zero hand which is emitter and conjuration by default yet hes an enhancer
He never used transmutation, 100 type guanyin budhisattva is an emitted construct that he then manipulates in order to attack. He probably also enhances the construct in order to make it hit harder
His Enhancer status very likely increases his praying speed, which means it increases the speed of the bodhisattva. I don't think his type is wasted

Manipulator- he moves the statue by moving his own body

When Gon fought Pitou, it seemed like he was unfazed by losing his arm, i think that he saw it coming, and later he put his arm through Pitou's chest saying that it was a "Gift", so i think that was his plan, and it seemed like Gon was holding back quite a bit after he smashed Pitou's head.
It is kind of a recurring theme of the ark. The and queen arrives with without an arm, Kite sacrifices his arm to push Killua and Gon away from Pitou, Meruem rips his arm off to apologize to Komugi, Pitou breaks her arm to prove she is telling the truth to Gon, Netero loses his arm to Meruem (also, same arm and leg he wasnt using when training with Killua and Gon on the Hunter Exam Ark) Gon loses his Arm... so everything comes full circle
Also humans arent as durable as chimera ants. Which means he might have significantly more nen then pitou or meruem. But if hes not gaurding himself hes more vulnerable

Most of those are hard to gauge, as few have been in detailed fights. We have only seen one single fight with Silva, and it was with help from his father. Hisoka we can scale with Chrollo. I don't think we have ever seen Illumi fight (unless its in the Manga past where I read, haven't fully caught up). Feitan has only fought Zazan, and how are we supposed to scale her when she herself hadn't fought anyone else?
Zazan also kind of came out of nowhere with her strength. She was a squadron leader (who we have seen being anywhere from as weak as Meleoron to as strong as Leol) yet she somehow boasted power to make a Phantom Troupe fighter go all out.
Maybe Zazan was also comparable to other Squadron Leaders such as Leol and Cheetu, and Phantom Troupes just aren't as strong as we first thought? Doubt it. Makes more sense that Zazan was secretly the strongest non-Royal Guard Chimera Ant, for the sole reason of giving us a good fight with a Phantom Troupe member.

You think 2x damage would still be "hardly anything"? If you want to use numbers, Meruem has a damage resit value of 10k, and Netero hits for 9.5k, its not enough to crack his defense but it bangs him up a little bit after quite a few hits -- DOUBLING that is insane, that would be in the realm of potentially 1 shotting. Doubling power and doubling speed is also quadratic, any other traits you can add to that are beyond simple 2x even if you're underestimating what 2x really is.
I dont think even then netero could one shot the king. However I bet he could win when the time it takes to kill the king is reduced by at least half and the Buddha is twice as proficient/much harder to get through the defense. He could just kinda kill him through attrition

Everything Netero did under his own power hardly even inconvenienced Meruem. He wasn't even actively trying to hurt him and when he did he broke down Net's ultimate technique in a few minutes and took away two of his limbs within seconds. That technique's ultimate offensive barely fazed him. Netero had amazing skill and nen techniques that let him put in a good showing but in terms of raw power he was like an ant himself next to the king, I got the impression he would've had to have been a whole lotta leagues higher than he was to do any kind of meaningful or significant damage. No idea how prime Netero would've done, any answer is purely speculatory because we barely know anything about him, but personally I seriously doubt he could win and I'm pretty sure he would've had to have been hitting with far more than double the force to properly hurt Meruem.
Power scaling is fake and Togashi definitely didn't have any of this numbers shit in mind when he designed the characters and wrote the fight. Our takeaway was supposed to be: Netero is insanely strong but pretty much nothing compared to even an immature chimera ant king. Hence Netero going psycho and triggering the bomb, he realized there was literally jackshit he could ever do to Meruem with his own strength.
Akachukwu Nnamdi twice as many hits plus twice as fast equals 4x the damage. Or in other words not nearly enough to kill meruem and at best land a cut or two. The only reason the original went on as long as it did (still about a minute) was because Meruem was actively avoiding killing Netero. In a full fight, even prime netero is catching a fade.

this is actually incorrect and an error in translation, what she really said is that he has the power to reach the king basically saying he has a chance at killing him but not an equal to him, which is obvious if you think about how insane meruems durability is gon had his arm cut off by pitou meanwhile meruem took a point blank zero hand and only had minor wounds. not even counting his insane intelligence and strategy gon would have to be a quite a bit stronger and faster than him to negate his strategic mind also post-rose meruem would thrash him easily
I think the full quote was "his fangs could reach the King" which is really ambiguous. "Fangs" could mean attacks, as in Gon can hurt and fight Meruem but not necessarily kill him. Alternatively it might be more "fangs" as used by large cats and predators, meaning the killing blow.
"Reach" might even just mean he could get past the three Royal Guards.
Basically assessing Gon as being comparable to Meruem based on that statement alone strikes me as being a bit irrational.
That being said Gon was able to increase his Nen from sustaining Ren for 55 minutes to over 3 hours in just ten days of training, considering his adult state would've taken decades for him to achieve naturally I think it's safe to say he'd be dozens of times stronger, certainly far above powerful Hunters like Morel or Kite.
Gon and Killlua are insanely talented, Killua's great grandfather was apparently so skilled that Netero was praised for surviving a fight with him. Not being equal to him, surviving. If Killua's considered the most gifted Zoldyck in history when THAT guy is still alive, I think it's safe to say he and Gon have the potential to be far above Netero at their respective peaks.
Since even an old and decrepit Netero could fight and harm a restrained Meruem slightly, I'd argue that Gon as an adult probably could kill him.
Gon was caught off guard by pitou when his arm got cut off, meruem does have good strategy and his really smart but gon doesn’t think, I mean he does but you know, he’s simple minded, which makes him really unpredictable. Plus “Plot Armor”

Nen isn't just quantifiable in size, but quantifiable in the amount of power inside of it. It is powered by the user's aura. En is what defines the amount of quantifiable size, volume, and mass for one's nen that translates outside of their body in Hunter x Hunter. Ren is also another application similar that explosively projects this energy, but En allows the user to feel anything that walks into the proximity of their aura. It can be assumed that Gon was just normally applying his aura in the form of Ten during the battle with his massive nen reserves in the transformed state.

That, too. Gon had formed a contract, or in more specific terms, a VOW. His building up anger over the course of many adventures and building up rage had been driven to the point where his conviction was strong enough to form a contract granting him immensely enhanced and refined power that would otherwise originate from years and years of training and preparation. With the contract administered, he gained power that, in Neferpitou's words, came near or rivaled the power of the king (Mereum) and he also took Neferpitou out in a few hits. The contract had essentially transformed Gon beyond his regular limitations.

#1 Key factor that helped Meruem beat Netero is Komugi. Oh, don't tell me ya'll forgot about Komugi?
Komugi taught him the art of anticipating enemy actions and finding rhythm. Meruem even brought it up himself during his fight with Netero.
Meruem & Netero's full fight didn't even last 5 minutes in real time, and during that time frame Meruem started feeling pain. Prime Netero was stronger,
which means he would've done more damage to Meruem, quicker. Those Bodhisattva slaps are powerful, Meruem made it look like nothing because he's that OP.
However in due time, it'll wear on him and slow him down. Netero on the other hand can do that all day.
So to circle back to my point, If Meruem didn't know how to figure out Netero's bias to take advantage of the opening, he would've died before he could land 1 hit.
The brunt of Netero's attacks will gradually slow Meruem down, weakening him, and eventually killing him.
To add to that, mereum had the environmental advantage as well
lol so lets maximize netero and minimize meruem. giving netero every advantage and stripping meruem of any skills he had so hes just a dumb brute with an incredible body.. yeah put it that way it makes it a more even match.. but lets be real meruem would not only adapt eventually he would grow his nen too. you forget hes a natural born genius. he beat masters of other strategy games shortly after his first time playing the games. we have seen other characters develop their nen mid combat and hes no exception. he could take many many more hits from netero even in his prime. he felt very slight pain after thousands of hits. he had a ways to go.

I'm not undermining Meruem in any facet of my assessment, just simply did the obvious math. Netero landed thousands of hits before Meruem could even touch him. If he didn't have the prior experience that Komugi taught him, at the least, it would take him longer to figure out Netero's rhythm. Increasing Netero's chances.

Double the speed, strength and knockbacks of the attack means it hits way way harder and would prolounge and possibly even negate Mereums ability to get close to Netero. Mereum eventually started feeling pain and obviously that would happen much much faster with a prime Netero. Additionally, I believe Netero was only being humble when he said that Pitou was stronger than him. He even said that Morel was around as strong or even stronger than him, but when he released his nen, it made Morel literally shit himself, and then when Netero trained up a bit to get rid of the rust, he smacked Pitou so hard that she was panicking for the King and wanted to get back there asap. She may not have been too damaged by it, but you have to remember, earlier in the arc Mereum tries to kill Pitou and commends her as she survives the attack
Don’t also forget that netero wasn’t even trying to injure pitou or kill her, he was trying to send her far away so that she couldn’t come back in time. If he used his third hand or first hand on pitou, she’d easily be injured heavily

Actually the premise clearly states that when nen is activated, it surrounds the host with a layer of force which introduce a coefficient of 0.2 which is applied to all force input and output. With nens added effect of its user that adds a power bias of about 80~100 pascals, the final formula equates to about e=mc^2 🤓

Thats not how nen works, if the attack does any damage that means it reached his body and made a couple of little openings in his nen armor (the aura protecting him ), which means that any more power increase after that point will have a bigger result than it normaly would.
I think that double the power might remove his nen armor taking all the damage thus a critical hit or killing him

It's coming back in anime form eventually. They production company already copyrighted some noticeably being Hunter X Hunter titles and names plus they've been doing voice acting listings in Japan that seem to be for Hunter X Hunter. So it's pretty clear it'll make a return it's just he takes breaks from the manga so often for other projects it takes forever to have enough material to adapt into a new anime season since I'm assuming they want at least double the episodes what the initial run had in order to properly secure a spot in active anime series and grab a wider audience to have a reason to to continue making them after this, hopefully, next batch of episodes.
Basically what was once niche has had an extreme impact on anime and the fan base is gigantic now compared to when it was new so they have a profitable world wide series they're just waiting for more material so the anime can run long enough to make current fans happy while bringing in new ones. With such a large established fan base right now, the new anime series will be suggested by the established fans to people who haven't watched or read the series so that's the reason why they need to be able to make about 2 full seasons.

During the fight it was narrated that Meruem started to feel a numbing from the attacks. The real question is would Netero's nen outlast Meruem's. If Prime Netero could knock Meruem back further and deal more damage, the question would be whether or not Meruem's full speed could counter the difference. If yes then Meruem definitely wins, if not then it's a battle of attrition on who's nen could outlast who's.
I wonder what Meruem's plan would be if he wasn't in that tomb environment for his fight against Prime Netero. The presence of so many pillars definitely helped his strategy of rushing at Netero from all angles at max speed, so if the fight took place in, say, a barren, flat wasteland, I'd like to see what sort of plan Meruem comes up with to avoid just being smacked away for miles each time he gets close.
Hard to say because Meruem never showed us whatever abilities that he got from eating human.

In his prime, Netero could go and come back from the Dark Continent without major injuries and with relative ease. He was the strongest human in Moebius (the LAKE surrounded by the Dark Continent in which the entirety of HxH's plot took place so far, which mistakenly is called an ocean) and the fact that he and a few others had permission to go to the DC are testament of his strength.
However, Netero himself said that there are now at least a handful of stronger people than him, some 60 to 80 years after his prime. I firmly believe one of them is Ging.

It was stated that Ging is a top 5 hunter. Isaac stated he's not in the top 5 anymore. So clearly Ging could beat him now, while Isaac in his prime would have been much stronger than the Isaac we saw fight Meruem.
Although I wouldn't put too much stock into the Dark Continent exhibitions, beyond that it validated his status as a top 5 hunter in his prime. There were only 2 exhibitions. He didn't conquer anything there; he just fought for survival. That could mean anything. He certainly was unlikely to have been encountering opponents of Meruem's caliber there, because otherwise he wouldn't have said he felt unsatisfied by his ventures for mere survival. More likely he was outclassed and laid low in order to return alive.
I think prime Isaac could have defeated pre-nuke Meruem, assuming Meruem gave him the same handicaps. He probably would have been slightly weaker than Ging. I'm convinced the Freecs family is the strongest lineage in HxH. Don is the only hunter who's been long-term on the DC, Ging being the youngest hunter in his era (implying younger than Netero) on top of everything else he's accomplished, and Gon matching the strongest Zoldyck in his generation in spite of having vastly inferior combat training.
It's very obvious that Gon is not some random kid and we will learn that his blood line is very very special like Naruto's was.
The problem is, this evidence is weak. It only amounts to "Netero said he isn't a top 5 hunter anymore". In no way does this mean "Ging could beat Netero in a fight".
I agree completely. Even if we put his CLEAR raw nen advantage aside, Mereum purely physically is on a completely different level then Netero, even the prime version. Hell even base Pitou would probably kick Neteros ass in a non-nen fight at his prime.
Now, admittedly Meruem was a specialist, so his aura would be 40% as effective at enhancing his physical attributes, vs Netero, who is an enhancer. This being said, the sheer amount of aura again PITOU had over Netero was ridiculous, non the less Meruem, and would more then compensate for this disparity.

Probably? I think people in general are underestimating how much stronger the RG were because Youpi wasn't a very competent fighter even though he was monstrously strong, Pouf didn't even try and their only skilled combatant was Pitou who didn't get a chance to show anything. Pitou's aura should be around 5 time Netero's aura. Pitou's raw physicality should be several time stronger than even Netero and we've seen her cross a distance of a mile in a mere couple of seconds. She would annihilate Netero in a normal fight without technique. Netero's only weapon that can compete with the RG and the King is the technique created from his madness, the hundred arm Bodhisattva. It's not a normal technique, it's not proportional to Netero's strength, that's why the king considered him special, because his technique was so much beyond what his actual power was, like he broke some kind of limit. That's the reason why each time he shows his aura to someone, they not only say he's weaker than the RG but that he's so much weaker than them he doesn't have a chance. For that to be true, he needs to be waaaay weaker, and recovering a healthy adult body, as well as training his nen like he did it before the fight isn't gonna change that.

I don't think Iitou moved that fast jumping to kite... though jumping to Meruem, I'm fairly certain they do show her/him creating multiple sonic boom's while doing so. I'd say the thing that gives Pitou a much larger advantage would just be defense more then anything. A full power Omni-Gon jajakken would have pretty much disassemble almost any hunter on an atomic level.... and it like.... caved her face in and caused her to pass out, rather then obliterating all traces of time and space in a 40msq radius as one may normally imagine it too. Soooo yea.... kitty kat is one tough nut for sure.
As for Youpi... He seems like, in a straight up fight hed easily lay the smack down on Pitou sooo, never really had the impression the royal guards were in any way weak, especially not due to Youpi... the Enhancer tank who legit never once took any real damage that wasn't from poison.
Outside of these things, I don't disagree, nor do I believe I said anything to suggest otherwise. I do agree a lot of people do underestimate the RG for some unfathomable reason though.

The insane thing is that Netero is a born enhancer and martial artist, but his ability is emission, manipulation, conjuration and transmutation to summon a giant stand while he only considers the best strike like it turn based combat. Prime Netero would have been giving Meruem hands in between each of his bodhisattva attacks, but still his zero hand had little to no effect, and even the rose couldn't do it without fall out. Meruem likely wins regardless, but I can see zero hand in his prime doing way more damage. The thing is, I think Netero would've won if he had opponents to train on that were Pitou level. It seems after he went to the DC, he took over the hunter association to raise up the next generation and found the zodiacs so he could have sparring partners that could survive his attacks.
Maybe the difference between *Netero* and *Adult Gon* are the intention. I guess, it's not really fair to compare their strength.
That time, *Netero's* intention is not to kill *Pitou* but to cast her away. So probably, the power he used is just enough to hit her/him while *Gon's* intention was to kill.

Zero Hand managed to do only superficial damage to Meruem, scratching up his skin and giving him some light bruises but he didn't take any serious injuries. Even if we doubled the damage, that would only amount to cuts that bleed and some bigger bruises.

Still not enough to kill Meruem, maybe he would be able to destroy part of his limb. To kill him Netero's Zero Hand would have to be at least 3 times stronger based on the damage that old Netero's Zero hand did. Which is impossible because Netero even in his prime wasn't that strong.

Thing is that everyone forgets that Netero trained before fighting the king in order to get some of his original power back. Of course, Im sure that its not as powerful as his prime however, his prime was not necessarily twice as strong as he was when fighting Meruem
