Honestly, I've had worse.
Once went on a first date. She suggested a restaurant. I said sure. Turns out, it was where her ex worked and she was violating a restraining order. There was yelling. Police. She got arrested. I got questioned for 30 minutes about "my role."
😂 That’s pretty bad date. I’ve had friends who’ve had worse. I had one where the guy bragged about beating his ex when she got out of line.
That was a real stinker for sure. I've had my share of horrible first dates too. One was a woman who agreed to go dancing with a group of 6. When we go there she wouldn't get out of the car because she was sure we would get mugged. One of the guys was a black belt in Kung Fu, and I was a NCAA wrestler. When we finally got her inside, we started the first dance and she walked away and stood with her back to a corner of the room, because "the floor was shaking" and she was convinced it would collapse. Then she told me she was a virgin and wanted me to have sex with her. That was not going to happen. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was, "Never stick your dick in crazy."
Sounds like that 80s Bruce Willis movie "Blind Date"!

@@daverhoden445 I'm revealing my age but it's not like I hide, that I'm in my 60s now. I saw it back in the day, but it was just on a local channel a few months ago. You can just about place the month because when they're on the beach at the end, instead of champagne in the ice bucket, it's "New Coke"!

I seriously confused a date with a follow up question to "favorite color" with "for what object?" Then tried to explain I don't have a favorite color. Now I just say orange because it's easier than explaining that again.
but your concept is something interesting about you! Just saying orange is easier but doesn't show who you are. Btw i have a favourite colour for clothes, one for flowers, one for furniture etc ;)

You are my type of people! "It depends" is my answer to so many of these seemingly simple questions, and it annoys the asker EVERY time!
@@lb5368its because the purpose of the question is not to learn what your favourite color is. It's because they want to start a conversation. If you just say 'it depends' they have to say 'it depends on what?' and now its already starting to feel like a drag so your awnser should be real interesting for a good conversation.
You could say something like 'well, my furniture is mostly blue, but I like to dress in red. How about you?'
Then why are they already arguing like an old married couple ?

If black is a shade, then what is grey? My closet is basically 50 shades of grey. That totally got me. Brilliant.
If white is a colour then I guess grey=dark white is a shade of that colour.

It's white in shade.
The theory is basically just that black -> white are shades; and red, green, blue are colours; and when you mix the 3 colours with a shade (50% black for example), we get what WE call colours. I'm not sure what Julie would call that construct though.
Black is a pigment and the presence of all colors, or the absence of all light.
@@rahul9704 Except that's only how it works in paint pigments. Shades as a seperate application to "Color" doesn't exist when dealing with light. That's why we have an RGB gambit and not an RGBB. In printing, due to how paint pigments work they do use either an absesnce of pigment or a block to darken or Lighten but that has more to to with how paint pigments mix and less with how color generally work. In light, white is a combination of all visible wavelenghts, and not at all a tone.

That distinction is entirely misguided. A color can have any hue, saturation, or value. A shade is always a shade *of another* color, and is a variation of that other color with lower value, equivalent to an interpolation between that color and black. Similarly, a tint of another color is a variation of that other color with lower saturation, equivalent to an interpolation between that color and white. And a tone of another color is a variation of that other color with lower value *and* saturation, equivalent to an interpolation between that color and a grey, which is a tint of black, an interpolation between black and white. Every shade, tint, and tone is itself still a color, including black, white, and all the greys in between.

As someone who played with paint as a kid I can tell you that all the colours mixed together is a very sht brown, definitely not black

Brilliant. As a graduate in perceptual psychology, this was so satisfying. The perception of color is one of the most misunderstood and argued issues in vision/perception because each discipline has a way of sounding dogmatic in their textbooks when the question is far from answered.
Great example of this is the “checker shadow illusion” by Adelson. This illusion does not use a real shade over the checkered squares, but our expectation of a shadow being cast based on a schematic drawing, and it will make two squares of exactly the same RGB value on your screen look vastly different.
Brown is not in the visible light spectrum, and its existence as a perception is influenced by factors from real stimulus influence to expectations.
I think this episode explains why my dating life was awful for many years and reminds me of what happens when you put a Visual Neuroscience student and a perceptual psychology student in the same room to answer basic questions… like why do we see in 3D.

This is fairly relatable since when I'm asked about my favorite color I always say "black if that counts, otherwise green".

Ah, but that is the physics perspective, which is correct, black is the absence of colour, or more specifically, the absence of light reflecting back to our visual inputs.
However, in an artistic sense, black and white are shades that augment colours.
Then again, to the lay person, black is a colour, and us weirdos are just being pedantic.
Black is the absence of color only when speaking of the light spectrum, with white light being every color. If you are talking about pigment, ink, paint, whatever, black is every color. In other words, the topic needs to contextualized to give a correct answer. However in a everyday use and for the sake of simplification, it is accepted that black is be both a shade and a color.
To add to to the pedantism: a black hole is black, no? Unless you consider the secretion disk to be part of the black hole. Or unless you consider the Hawking radiation.

My worst & only blind date was when my 1977 Punk Rock self was set up with a California cheerleader type Frail who made a living as Bugs Bunny’s grandmother at Six Flags over some suburban wasteland of San José. It went as well as you might imagine.

This is basically every blind date to some degree. Speaking from experience.
All the weird facts about "colors":
- Black, Grey and White are not colors because they don't exist in the visible spectrum of light, they only are a very dark shade or very light shade of a color in the spectrum.
- Brown is not a color, it's actually Orange in a light context, try to make an orange square surrounded by black, it will look orange, then do the same exact orange surrounded by white, it will look brown, brown is not a color, it's a way of perceiving orange (a bit like "the dress" color dilemna).
- Magenta actually doesn't exist as we see it, Magenta is not in the visible spectrum of light. Meaning we see Magenta differently than the actual way it is. To perceive a color, the human brain computes the informations from the cones in our eyes that it gets when looking at an object. The problem with Magenta is that it activates the exact same cones as Green but the problem is our brain knows it's not green because the green cones don't activate, therefor OUR BRAIN creates this Magenta color we see.
- It's possible to create new colors by crossing your eyes in a certain way looking at colored squares, these are called chimerical colors but the experience can be dangerous and have long lasting effects so get more infos about it before you try.
Spectrally, magenta is a double peak of light distribution, in blue and red bands, with suppressed green. So it is a mix of blue and red. If you have a magenta film or ink illuminated by white, what it does it blocks green from incoming white. That is how ink printers work (cyan transmits a wide band over blue and green, cyan ink blocks red, and yellow is a band from green to red, yellow ink blocks blue), which is a subtractive system (rather than additive RGB, where you add red green or blue in different proportions)

you have the primary colors RBG being red, blue, green, and then you have the secondary colors being YMCK. Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black. Printers use YMCK because you get a wider range of colors. Adding white to the mix lightens a color, adding black makes it darker. If you mix all the colors together you end up with black, making black a color... and not a color at the same time.
