I have this same model of fridge. If your problem is ice buildup back there, then there is an easy way to fix this. You can put the fridge into "Force Defrost" mode which kicks off the defroster and will melt the ice. To do this, first press both the Lighting and Fridge buttons at the same time and hold them down until there is a beep and the display goes blank (this should take between 8 and 12 seconds). Release those buttons. Then, press the Freezer button either two times (to enter Force Defrost of the fridge - you will see "rd" on the display) or three times (to enter Force Defrost for both the Fridge and Freezer - you will see Fd on the display). That's it. Then the fridge will start beeping annoyingly for 15 minutes to an hour - this indicates that it is in Force Defrost mode. Once done, it will stop beeping, and then it will probably take another 15 minutes or so before the evaporator fan starts running again and cooling off the fridge. You might want to set a recurring reminder to run this procedure every month or so.

Just finished replacing the motor for the evaporator fan on the refrigerator side. This video was very helpful. SAMSUNG DA31-00146J MOTOR FAN is for the refrigerator side ($70 on Amazon) , DA31-00146E ($22 on Amazon) is for the freezer side. The two have different RPMs. Like others, my problem was the fridge side was not cooling, freezer side was fine. Removal of back panel on fridge side: to expose the screws under the lens covers for the LED lights, use a plastic or wooden flat blade tool (metal flatblade screw driver OK but be gentle) to "pop" the lens covers on middle side (not the outer side with the three tabs protruding). IF the panel gives you a LOT of resistance when you try to take it off, it is probably frozen on the backside in one or more places. If you use too much force in removing it, you risk tearing off pieces of the styrofoam seal on the back side (yep, I did !). Better to figure out where it is binding and then use a hairdryer on that part of the panel (facing you), hopefully melting the ice on the other side of the panel. OR, if you have the luxury, just leave the unit unplugged for several hours with doors open and let the ice melt. If your fan motor/blade was encased in ice, after you thaw it out, test it, it may still be OK (probably not). One way to test: without putting the panel back on, plug the two connectors back in; close the door; turn the power back on; wait maybe 10-15 minutes for system to bootup and begin the cooling process, you will hear it when it does; if the motor is still good, you will hear a "whine", open the door quickly and peak at the fan blade--if the motor is working, you will see the fan blade as it slows down to a stop (when the door opens, it stops the fan automatically). Or if you can figure out a way to override the "open door" switch, let us know cuz then we could view the fan in action (or inaction). If the motor is toast: when you install the new motor: follow the video: if it has a spring painted green holding the blade cage to the motor spindle, use a flat blade screw driver to pry up/off the spring. When you put the spring back on, if it is too tightly wound to go back on the spindle: insert the needle ends of needle-nosed pliers into the center of the spring, open the handles of the pliers just enough to loosen/widen the spring at one end, doesn't take much, don't overdo--now try putting the spring back on the spindle. As stated earlier, when you are finished with your install and you turn the power back on, it takes a 10-15 minutes for the system to re-boot and the cooling to commence so don't panic ! My theory for my problem is: the motor failed, THEN the blade iced up. I don't think an ice build-up on the blade caused the motor stop, but if you know differently, please advise.
so DA3100146E is not necessary to replace if the freezer works and the fridge is not cooling? i think i bought the wrong part based on service tech diagnosis
@@MENFUSSMIKE I am no expert. My post was merely relating my experience. But it sounds like you are correct, if the freezer is working properly then there is no reason to replace the motor on the freezer side.
I no longer have that refrigerator is so I can't check myself but if you are able to do a visual on the fan blade on the on the freezer side, when you think the freezer motor is running, open the freezer door, if you look very quickly you will be able to tell if the fan blade is spinning. If it's spinning then the motor is obviously working. you have to look quickly though because I think everything shuts down automatically the minute you open a door.

However if you have the refrigerator side exposed, I know from experience that you can check that fan by using the open door technique I previously described.just remember that if you have the unit unplugged, when you plug it back in it will take upwards of fifteen minutes for the refrigerator to reset and start running again, you will hear it when it does.

Thanks for posting this. Once I got mine apart (per your excellent instructions) I found mine was iced up into the fan housing, preventing the fan from turning. Once defrosted, it turns fine. Reassembled and cooling down nicely. Thanks again.
I have Two things to say: 1st... I'm glad you posted this "How To" video. My father-in-law is having trouble with his Samsung fridge. He might have other problem of frost and ice build up in the fridge because of the plugged drain hole. We'll see. I going over tomorrow armed with the knowledge you just shared. 2... What a Piece of crap fridge. I own one too and in the two years I have owned the stupid thing it has frozen up twice. The first time it was under warranty and the manufacturers rep came out and fixed it. Now it is not under warranty and this video saved the day!!!! Thank you very much. Thanks for this video! I have a different model, RB215LABP, but this was close enough for me to find out that my evap coil was completely frozen. A few months ago, I had to replace the circuit board because the whole refrigerator was not cooling. This time it was just the refrigerator, but the freezer was fine. Thanks a million!!!! Samsung rs25h5111sr/aa: The upper half of my freezer was not freezing while the lower half stayed frozen. (Note this was the 5th time the refrigerator broke!) Crazy Samsung! First, I checked the voltage to the fan motor and even used a 9 volt battery to make sure the fan motor was working. Since it was working fine, I dug deeper and found your video! After fixing the evaporator fan on the freezer side by following your worthy advice, I took the repair one important step further. In order for the stupid Samsung refrigerator to continue to work properly, it is super important to thoroughly remove every bit of moisture from the condenser coil area before reinstalling the back panel. I cannot stress the importance of this step enough! Use a blow dryer to melt any frozen areas. Check the drain to make sure there is no ice and no clog at the drain beneath the coils. Take towels and dry up every bit of water. Go back and blow dry again removing as much moisture as possible from the compartment, then reattach the back panel. This holds true for both the freezer and refrigerator sides, though it is detrimental to the freezer side of these lousy units. Once the fan was set in the correct position (I said from the beginning the blade was too tight, but instead, they replaced the entire back panel. Unfortunately , the new panel obviously had the same fan problem as the first!!! Of course, It worked for a while after their repair, but eventually broke again after they “guaranteed” it wouldn’t break again!) At any rate, thanks to this video, and with moisture removed, it worked! Woohoo!!! Thank you for sharing your experience! I was ready to chunk the two year old fridge and buy a new one! They are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to consider replacing every two years for us common folk!

I have Samsung RS265TD fridge (4.5 y/o). The fridge digital number was blinking, it turned out the fridge not cooling, but the freezer was fine. I called the local repair shops and was told by 2 reputable shops that they don't want to repair Samsung, and suggested me to call Samsung directly. Then the service dept. of SS connected me to a repair chain located 60 miles away, they will come in a week. Thanks for your video, we unplugged the fridge for 12 hours and able to remove the cover. After using hairdryer to melt all the ice, put back the cover, plug the power line. The fridge returned the light and digital screen, but completely quiet. We were panic for 10 minutes and didn't know what to do. Then it come back alive after 10 min. by itself. And the warm fridge back to the set temp. in one hour. Thanks again.
Apparently, after it has been unplugged, when you plug it back in, it takes a few minutes for it to re-start. Same thing with mine. Maybe 4 minutes to re-start.

I have the same exact issue, did you resolve it? My fan was making a noise and then stopped working altogether. So, now, I have to fix that, any thoughts or advice on what is was?
Back when it happened the first time, I unplugged the fridge, let it thaw out, opened it up and tested the voltage. It showed to be good. I didn't know what more to do, so I reinstalled it and plugged it back in. It worked. So, I let it be. Then it happened again a few months later. Again, I unplugged, let it thaw out. This time I just plugged it back in after it thawed. Again, it worked. Just a few weeks ago, it did it again. I had had enough, hired a repair service. They came and replaced... the evaporator motor. So far it's been working fine.
thank you! I was trying to open it up myself and couldn't because I didn't know there were two additional screws at the light behind the light cover. Mine was also stuck with lots of ice so I had to blow it with a heater for a while and use a little bit of force. Finally managed to open it up and see lots of ice. The fan of cause was stuck as well.
Happened to us again, thank you so much for this video (again) - I'm tempted to not put the screws back in, LOL. Velcro would be quicker and easier for dismantling/reassembling. p.s. this time, I had to take the little metal spring off so that I could pull the fan upon the spindle.

Thank for the video as my Samsung dual cooking system stop coolimy in it's 2nd time in it's life. While be trying this to see if it works. I bought my first Samsung french door and it lasted 2 month and both dual cooling systems died simultaneously. I lost $300 worth of food as I had just stuffed the fridge 2days before. Samsung never paid me for it either.The repairman took 5hrs to fix it, smh. Now I see videos on line a see it takes 30min to an hour to fix something. it's ridiculous what they charge at that $475 to repair also thank God it was still under warranty. now I fix it all myself.

I'm sitting here listening to my fridge's evap fan rattling inside the fridge once more as it cools back down from 62 f@#$% degrees. I followed your steps exactly and I may need to replace my fan motor. Thinking the bearings might have been compromised by ice. $%%##@#$%÷ I hate it when engineers build in failure points to make certification. Samsung totally screwed up their appliance game in putting the cert before the durability. They did a similar pooch screwing with the previous owner's dishwasher too. Putting a delicate circuit right next to the exhaust port. I will never buy a major appliance from them. They deliberately made the refrigerator defrost a very short cycle just to get Energy Star certified. This means after a few years, the consumer (who is less than perfect) might store an open liquid, or a kid leaves the refrigerator door ajar slightly overnight. Boom. The short defrost heating cycle can't possibly keep up with all the moisture. Your evap fan is frozen solid in the Greenland ice sheet. Will it work when you thaw it out? Who the hell knows? We are going to swap this weak ass fridge for an OLDER side by side from Frigidaire. It's 11 years old and has never, not once, acted up. We will retire this steel to the garage. That way, next time the Samsung screws the pooch, we won't lose a couple hundred bucks worth of food. We'll lose a case of beer at most. Amateur hour, Samsung. You got some hapless previous owner's money for this. Stick to display screens.
Very helpful but my fan and everything was frozen behind it. It took me a long time to pull it off because it was frozen. After I got it off I got a hairdryer, took it to the garage and it took 5 min. Put it back on and my fridge works great. Thanks!
washer, dryer went kaput. Washer stopped working and dryer heating coil went bad a couple of times and thermostat did also. My tv has 8 vertical lines going across the tv which is annoying. and my all my samsung phones(note or S series) had bad cameras, doesn't focus good, and performance was subpar. Never again samsung!

PLEASE READ!!! Had to do this every 6 months until I read that if you spray "Pam" on the coils it will prevent ice buildup. So I tried it and haven't had a problem since. 5 years and still no ice build up!
I have the same fridge, had it since 2012. This was the first issue, fridge compartment not cooling, bottom shelf however was freeing everything.. It was of course ice buildup blocking the fan you showed how to remove... Just a word of advice, if after removing the six screws, the panel still seems attached tightly in places, in my case if was the ice buildup stretching from the fan into the evaporator coils keeping everything tight. 12 hours of unplugging w door open was not long enough to defrost that chuck of ice..
It appears the fan was stuck for sitting too low, if you unstuck it there's a chance it could be stuck again. The root cause would be to find the problem causing the fan sitting too low🤷♂️. I'm thankful for this video why the fridge stop cooling
If this doesn't work for your fan.. Try: Pulling the top cover off of the motor case, place a 'thin' o-ring (or rubber washer) on top of the motor and snap the case back together. It will push the fan blade away from the housing, freeing it up .. My fan blade only needed a few millimetres to free it up & it spun very smoothly after doing this.
Thanks for this video turns out I had the same problem. What gives with this fan rubbing in the first place. Crisper drawers being shoved in to hard or what? Oh and unplugging after the repair is a must other wise the fan does not start took a few to figure out why after freeing up the fan. Yes I did the repair with it plugged in :-P

Thanks for the great video. Mine however is freezing back there causing the fan to stop turning. At first it happened every 6mo or so. Now I'm lucky if i get a month. I know the defrost cycle is working because i burned my finger on the heater twice while repairing. And after remove the ice the fan turns freely. This unit made gurgling and popping noises since day one, but Lowes and Samsung repair told us it was normal. Your thoughts?
Thanks for this video...I took the panel apart and defrosted the build up of ice around the fan and put it all back together. However, the fridge still is not cooling....thoughts? I'm 24 hours from buying a new one....this is the 3rd December in a row this Samsung RS265 has done this to us...
Keep panel loose.... plug fan in and then press the door contact that makes the light switch off....wait a few seconds the fan should turn on and keep turning..... once you release the door switch the fan stops.....do this before you put everything back...The fan works on 12 volts so it's safe to test with a multimeter to see if you get 12 volts on the plug if so then one motor is faulty.....There is a kit that you install behind the fan and this prevents Ice build up.....One can use a hair dryer if you see lots of ice at the bottom of the panel to melt the ice behind the panel... it will drain out the back of the fridge.... In future you can press buttons on the display panel and it will indicate what is faulty...in the manual are the fault codes... This fridge is easy to repair.... It's a good product as far as effciency goes...one must reliase that the parts are freely available in China so it's not a big deal to repair as to we staying in USA or Europe. One must accept when its electrical and has electronics onboard it will break down that how things go in this world today.
About a year ago, my SAMSUNG refrigerator (same as this model) quit cooling. I had extended warranty so I called SAMSUNG and they sent a repair tech out. I watched what he did just in case it happened again. Well, low and behold, it did last week. First sign was hearing the fan rubbing, and what it was rubbing was ice build up. I did notice the digital display for refrigerator side was flashing. I opened the door, and found the thermometer (I put on in after last time) was 74 degrees. Yeah! there goes more food in the trash! Anyway, IF it happens again, I'll replace the defroster line. Easy fix for anyone with a screwdriver and some confidence.
Most likely not. Just be careful after removing the screws for the cover as if there is ice build up, it maybe frozen onto the Styrofoam on on the backside. I used a hairdryer on low setting to help the thaw process. Careful not to get too close to the plastic cover vent as it will distort and melt it. Good luck!
Just had to order one because my fan didn't have continuity when I checked it. It was 58 and some change shipped. cheaper than a service call. Samsung was less than helpful and I still have 4 years left on the warranty.
They are difficult to get through to. The first time they put me in touch with an appliance store that handled Samsung. The guy had to drive near and hour. Now I know what to do if it happens in the future. I took the extended warranty and glad I did, but now expired. Good luck!
I've had this happen twice and I think I figured out why. Both times it was after putting warm food in fridge. I looked later that day and saw condensation and then the freeze up next day. Try avoiding putting warm or hot food in fridge
How can do u know if u need to replace this part? I have taken the panel apart and it was mildly frozen over once I put it back I noticed the fan was not turning but it is freely spinning when I do it manually I read in another post to close the door let it start up again then open the door quickly and check if the fan is spinning which is not, this means I should replace this part you did here right?? My screen says SE idk if it like an error code or something is messed up electronically. I already took off ice from fan and doesn't spin or work

What a Piece of crap fridge. I own one too and in the two years I have owned the stupid thing it has frozen up twice. The first time it was under warranty and the manufacturers rep came out and fixed it. Now it is not under warranty and this video saved the day!!!! Thank you very much. I now know how to maintain this piece of crap. Samsung makes some good TV's, but Fridges not so much. Thanks again for making this video.

Thanks for this video! I have a different model, RB215LABP, but this was close enough for me to find out that my evap coil was completely frozen. A few months ago, I had to replace the circuit board because the whole refrigerator was not cooling. This time it was just the refrigerator, but the freezer was fine. Thanks a million!!!! (I have never had a refrigerator with this many problems before.)
Samsung rs25h5111sr/aa: The upper half of my freezer was not freezing while the lower half stayed frozen. (Note this was the 5th time the refrigerator broke!) Crazy Samsung!
First, I checked the voltage to the fan motor and even used a 9 volt battery to make sure the fan motor was working. Since it was working fine, I dug deeper and found your video! After fixing the evaporator fan on the freezer side by following your worthy advice, I took the repair one important step further. In order for the stupid Samsung refrigerator to continue to work properly, it is super important to thoroughly remove every bit of moisture from the condenser coil area before reinstalling the back panel. I cannot stress the importance of this step enough! Use a blow dryer to melt any frozen areas. Check the drain to make sure there is no ice and no clog at the drain beneath the coils. Take towels and dry up every bit of water. Go back and blow dry again removing as much moisture as possible from the compartment, then reattach the back panel. This holds true for both the freezer and refrigerator sides, though it is detrimental to the freezer side of these lousy units.
Once the fan was set in the correct position (I said from the beginning the blade was too tight, but instead, they replaced the entire back panel. Unfortunately , the new panel obviously had the same fan problem as the first!!! Of course, It worked for a while after their repair, but eventually broke again after they “guaranteed” it wouldn’t break again!)
At any rate, thanks to this video, and with moisture removed, it worked! Woohoo!!!

I have Samsung RS265TD fridge (4.5 y/o). The fridge digital number was blinking, it turned out the fridge not cooling, but the freezer was fine. I called the local repair shops and was told by 2 reputable shops that they don't want to repair Samsung, and suggested me to call Samsung directly. Then the service dept. of SS connected me to a repair chain located 60 miles away, they will come in a week. Thanks for your video, we unplugged the fridge for 12 hours and able to remove the cover. After using hairdryer to melt all the ice, put back the cover, plug the power line. The fridge returned the light and digital screen, but completely quiet. We were panic for 10 minutes and didn't know what to do. Then it come back alive after 10 min. by itself. And the warm fridge back to the set temp. in one hour. Thanks again.
Apparently, after it has been unplugged, when you plug it back in, it takes a few minutes for it to re-start. Same thing with mine. Maybe 4 minutes to re-start.

My online research leads me to believe the evaporator fan is the culprit. I wanted to see someone else work on theirs before I tried cracking mine open, so thank you for the example!
I have the same exact issue, did you resolve it? My fan was making a noise and then stopped working altogether. So, now, I have to fix that, any thoughts or advice on what is was?
Back when it happened the first time, I unplugged the fridge, let it thaw out, opened it up and tested the voltage. It showed to be good. I didn't know what more to do, so I reinstalled it and plugged it back in. It worked. So, I let it be. Then it happened again a few months later. Again, I unplugged, let it thaw out. This time I just plugged it back in after it thawed. Again, it worked. Just a few weeks ago, it did it again. I had had enough, hired a repair service. They came and replaced... the evaporator motor. So far it's been working fine.

I was trying to open it up myself and couldn't because I didn't know there were two additional screws at the light behind the light cover. Mine was also stuck with lots of ice so I had to blow it with a heater for a while and use a little bit of force. Finally managed to open it up and see lots of ice. The fan of cause was stuck as well.
DA31-00146J is the part number for the replacement evap fan on this exact model.

Happened to us again, thank you so much for this video (again) - I'm tempted to not put the screws back in, LOL. Velcro would be quicker and easier for dismantling/reassembling. p.s. this time, I had to take the little metal spring off so that I could pull the fan upon the spindle.

Thank for the video as my Samsung dual cooking system stop coolimy in it's 2nd time in it's life. While be trying this to see if it works. I bought my first Samsung french door and it lasted 2 month and both dual cooling systems died simultaneously. I lost $300 worth of food as I had just stuffed the fridge 2days before. Samsung never paid me for it either.The repairman took 5hrs to fix it, smh. Now I see videos on line a see it takes 30min to an hour to fix something. it's ridiculous what they charge at that $475 to repair also thank God it was still under warranty.

I hate it when engineers build in failure points to make certification. Samsung totally screwed up their appliance game in putting the cert before the durability. They did a similar pooch screwing with the previous owner's dishwasher too. Putting a delicate circuit right next to the exhaust port. I will never buy a major appliance from them.
They deliberately made the refrigerator defrost a very short cycle just to get Energy Star certified. This means after a few years, the consumer (who is less than perfect) might store an open liquid, or a kid leaves the refrigerator door ajar slightly overnight. Boom. The short defrost heating cycle can't possibly keep up with all the moisture. Your evap fan is frozen solid in the Greenland ice sheet.
Will it work when you thaw it out? Who the hell knows? We are going to swap this weak ass fridge for an OLDER side by side from Frigidaire. It's 11 years old and has never, not once, acted up. We will retire this steel to the garage. That way, next time the Samsung screws the pooch, we won't lose a couple hundred bucks worth of food. We'll lose a case of beer at most.
Amateur hour, Samsung. You got some hapless previous owner's money for this. Stick to display screens.

Very helpful but my fan and everything was frozen behind it. It took me a long time to pull it off because it was frozen. After I got it off I got a hairdryer, took it to the garage and it took 5 min. Put it back on and my fridge works great. Thanks!
i have a samsung tv a samsung washer n dryer n fridge..the tv is the only thing that hasn't messed up..samsung should stick to tvs
washer, dryer went kaput. Washer stopped working and dryer heating coil went bad a couple of times and thermostat did also. My tv has 8 vertical lines going across the tv which is annoying. and my all my samsung phones(note or S series) had bad cameras, doesn't focus good, and performance was subpar. Never again samsung!
And stick to PC monitors and Mobile phones. I thought buying a Samsung fridge would be a solid buy, B/C it's Samsung. 3rd time in 5 years on this evap fan

PLEASE READ!!! Had to do this every 6 months until I read that if you spray "Pam" on the coils it will prevent ice buildup. So I tried it and haven't had a problem since. 5 years and still no ice build up!

I have the same fridge, had it since 2012. This was the first issue, fridge compartment not cooling, bottom shelf however was freeing everything.. It was of course ice buildup blocking the fan you showed how to remove... Just a word of advice, if after removing the six screws, the panel still seems attached tightly in places, in my case if was the ice buildup stretching from the fan into the evaporator coils keeping everything tight. 12 hours of unplugging w door open was not long enough to defrost that chuck of ice..

It appears the fan was stuck for sitting too low, if you unstuck it there's a chance it could be stuck again. The root cause would be to find the problem causing the fan sitting too low🤷♂️. I'm thankful for this video why the fridge stop cooling

If this doesn't work for your fan.. Try:
Pulling the top cover off of the motor case, place a 'thin' o-ring (or rubber washer) on top of the motor and snap the case back together.
It will push the fan blade away from the housing, freeing it up .. My fan blade only needed a few millimetres to free it up & it spun very smoothly after doing this.

Thanks for this video turns out I had the same problem. What gives with this fan rubbing in the first place. Crisper drawers being shoved in to hard or what? Oh and unplugging after the repair is a must other wise the fan does not start took a few to figure out why after freeing up the fan. Yes I did the repair with it plugged in :-P

would low gas also stop it from cooling on really hot summer day's. my fridge struggles to cool and the digital panel starts to flash.
Thanks for the great video. Mine however is freezing back there causing the fan to stop turning. At first it happened every 6mo or so. Now I'm lucky if i get a month. I know the defrost cycle is working because i burned my finger on the heater twice while repairing. And after remove the ice the fan turns freely. This unit made gurgling and popping noises since day one, but Lowes and Samsung repair told us it was normal. Your thoughts?

Keep panel loose.... plug fan in and then press the door contact that makes the light switch off....wait a few seconds the fan should turn on and keep turning..... once you release the door switch the fan stops.....do this before you put everything back...The fan works on 12 volts so it's safe to test with a multimeter to see if you get 12 volts on the plug if so then one motor is faulty.....There is a kit that you install behind the fan and this prevents Ice build up.....One can use a hair dryer if you see lots of ice at the bottom of the panel to melt the ice behind the panel... it will drain out the back of the fridge.... In future you can press buttons on the display panel and it will indicate what is faulty...in the manual are the fault codes... This fridge is easy to repair.... It's a good product as far as effciency goes...one must reliase that the parts are freely available in China so it's not a big deal to repair as to we staying in USA or Europe. One must accept when its electrical and has electronics onboard it will break down that how things go in this world today.
About a year ago, my SAMSUNG refrigerator (same as this model) quit cooling. I had extended warranty so I called SAMSUNG and they sent a repair tech out. I watched what he did just in case it happened again. Well, low and behold, it did last week. First sign was hearing the fan rubbing, and what it was rubbing was ice build up. I did notice the digital display for refrigerator side was flashing. I opened the door, and found the thermometer (I put on in after last time) was 74 degrees. Yeah! there goes more food in the trash! Anyway, IF it happens again, I'll replace the defroster line. Easy fix for anyone with a screwdriver and some confidence.

Most likely not. Just be careful after removing the screws for the cover as if there is ice build up, it maybe frozen onto the Styrofoam on on the backside. I used a hairdryer on low setting to help the thaw process. Careful not to get too close to the plastic cover vent as it will distort and melt it. Good luck!
Just had to order one because my fan didn't have continuity when I checked it. It was 58 and some change shipped. cheaper than a service call. Samsung was less than helpful and I still have 4 years left on the warranty.
They are difficult to get through to. The first time they put me in touch with an appliance store that handled Samsung. The guy had to drive near and hour. Now I know what to do if it happens in the future. I took the extended warranty and glad I did, but now expired. Good luck!

I've had this happen twice and I think I figured out why. Both times it was after putting warm food in fridge. I looked later that day and saw condensation and then the freeze up next day. Try avoiding putting warm or hot food in fridge

How can do u know if u need to replace this part? I have taken the panel apart and it was mildly frozen over once I put it back I noticed the fan was not turning but it is freely spinning when I do it manually I read in another post to close the door let it start up again then open the door quickly and check if the fan is spinning which is not, this means I should replace this part you did here right??
