If you use the flat head screw driver to wiggle the compression spring off of motor shaft the fan blade comes off more easily.
When I changed my motor I just removed the whole plate assembly and then took off the impeller, much easier for me.
How to test motor fan still work or not ?
You can test for power at the motor. If you have power at the motor and it doesn't come on then you will need to replace the motor.
how did you know the motor was bad?
The refrigerator will ice up quickly because there is no circulation
