For those of you that missed the note I had put in the description box regarding the woman at the end: 🛑 NOTE - There is no surviving photograph of the Italian Prima donna who went down in the last moments of the sinking, so Lulu White, the famous black owner of New Orlean’s most notorious brothel “Mahogany Hall”, which was at it’s height later on in the 1890’s, has made a special appearance for us to stand in to help portray that final fateful moment.
My God. The man fell into the crack of the sinking ship that cracked in half, the lifeboats that were sucked into the sea as the ship sunk, the woman who knows she will drown... How horrible. The sound effects of your story were excellent - all that wind! The cemetery was very well kept - and then, sadly, the cracked plate of the subject of your story - the Gallier Monument. Thank you for the telling of this story. 🙂
We just can't begin to imagine the terror they must have felt in those desolate, angry seas, while awaiting their imminent fate. 😞 May they rest in peace.
Love watching your channel! I learn something new every time I watch. Your narrations, pace, and tone are top notch. I enjoy your humor, and audience interaction. Your wealth of life experience and knowledge of history. Keeps me coming back for more. Thank you so very much! 💖
I've enjoyed this series so much Ron. I live near Baton Rouge now and never really get down to New Orleans anymore, family has either died or moved away, so this was a treat.
I've watched (tried out) a lot of similar channels and I must say I always come back to yours. Everything is perfect. I understand the difficulties one sometimes faces with weather and wind, etc. But you manage to make it work better on your channel than any other channel I've personally watched. If you ever tire of doing this, a lot of people will be sad. Hopefully you will have continued inspiration to provide us with these wonderful and knowledge filled videos. So much gratitude is sent to you, from me, for all your hard work and extensive travels. You are very much appreciated.
Very sad but informative history..so many shipwrecks and their victims don't get remembered as do the big stories like Titanic..a touching tribute to a great man and the beautiful city of New Orleans.. I have only been there once, but really want to go again..I will visit Royal street and this monument if I do..thank you Ron for all that you do.
From watching your videos, I have learned that every cemetery is different and special in its own way. As always your presentations are beautifully done❤
This was a wonderful rendering of a very tragic story. You helped to make it feel like I was there watching this disaster unfold. These journeys can be painful at times but are so important to be undertaken in order to understand the past.
Hello Ron I'm watching you from Tucson Arizona it's sure sad about all those people dying in the sea. Couldn't imagine how scared and terrified they all were. May they all rest in peace. Thank you for this story
Just a riveting story, and to think of all of those souls who lost their lives, just traveling from New York to New Orleans! And I agree about the dismay. People would feel when the captain told them, I was lost! The captain obviously thought they deserved to know the truth. In my mind, it was a heroic decision to make. . Blessings to them all 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Fantastic presentation as always, Ron. I always look forward to new episodes and I’m still discovering older ones as well. Fascinating, and beautifully told! ❤️
WOW Ron what a fascinating story. Considering that I watched this episode while on a cruise ship. We are heading down to the southern Caribbean our final stop will be Aruba. Loved your editing you did 👍
I just came on TH-cam haven’t been on it before and I found your faces of the Forgotten your stories are so good and sad Thank you for doing this I’ve learn a lot by you, your narrated is just awesome keep it going ❤❤ Thank you from Oregon
I cannot imagine being on that ship. Let alone waiting for it to go down. 😱 🙀 😢 What a story. Some of the crypts looked so beautiful and white. One you passed was such a shiny black. It's a shame some are falling apart. But with that weather it's amazing anything remains. 🙏
When my husband and I first met, we discovered that we both enjoyed dawdling in cemeteries, though he had more reason to like them, since he was from New Orleans. Your choice, here, of St. Louis N° 3 is where he first showed me the local cemeteries, since his grandparents are there. Their spot was one of the many labeled in Greek.
It can be fixed if city officials would take the time to repair the Gallagher monument, looks like a clean break of the stone. RIP to the husband and wife. Love how you bring your stories to life, thanks Ron 😊
That is the house they use for the LaLaurie house in "American Horror Story." They also used it the new series for "Interview with the Vampire." The real Delphine LaLaurie house is on the corner (you passed it)... every time I go to New Orleans, I stay on Royal. I never knew this was an actual museum you could go in. I will have to check that out when I go back this summer!
I loved the story. The way in which you told it created some very lifelike pictures in my mind. Death at sea is not the way to go. Thank you, Ron, for traveling the country for us and keeping so many souls alive. Blessings from Michigan.
Hello Ron just watch your video New Orleans is just beautiful I enjoy so much listening to your stories of people past lives! Thank you Ron for your caring heart for all faces of Forgotten! God bless you always!❤️🙏👏👏

What secrets lie within those ancient walls, What spirits linger in its hallowed halls? Part 22 of the journey, a chapter unknown, In the annals of history, its mysteries sown. So let us venture forth, with courage and might, Through St. Louis Cemetery's eerie night. For in the Tomb of the Doomed, secrets reside, Waiting for those brave enough to abide.
Hi Ron. Such a tragic story. Hope you are well. it's absolutely freezer hear. mostly the wind. it cuts straight through you. b safe take care. from uk,,🇬🇧👍😄
FANTASTIC RON LOVE THE IRON WORK AND FRONT DOOR ON THIS STUNNING VICTORIAN HOME LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JOURNEY AND STORY RON. SOUNDING DEVASTATING 😮😮😢 HOW TRAGIC , WHAT ASAD DISASTER . THANKS RON ,I DONT KNOW HOW YOU DO IT ,BUT IM SO GLAD YOU BRING US THE HISTORY . DI DOWNUNDER🇦🇺🥲
I love these videos. I learn a lot of interesting things from watching them. The crypts look so white and clean they actually remind me of tiny houses.
I wish I could repair all these broken monuments. Ron we really enjoy watching these with your narration. You said before you wouldn't do one that someone else has done. My wife and I think no matter who else may have done a location before yours will still be better.
Ron, I'm originally from Hammond. But, in Ponchatoula there is a grave known as the witches grave in Whitmore cemetery. Next time your passing thru, stop by. I live in Sevierville Tennessee now, but I grew up there and all my life I was "raised" there.
Fantastic story and a fantastic channel! I'm quite a new subscriber and have been going through all the past videos and loving every one. Exceptional storytelling!
This made me feel so sad, I can't imagine a more horrific and petrifying situation to be in, I have a fear of big waters so this was hard for me to watch but I did watch because I love the compassion when telling these stories of people that truly deserve to be remembered. Rip everyone who perished in this tragedy 😢🙏⚘️
A fascinating story Ron from start to finish. The account of the sinking of the Evening Star was riveting , what a scary scene!! They went through terror for hours and then an awful end. You just hate to think of what they endured. Mr. Gallier was an accomplished man and I pray that he and his wife and all the victims of that tragedy are resting peace. Great story Ron thank you! 👏 👏 😊
Wonderful story. Beautiful cemetery. Thank you. Even today I will not get on a ship. The sea is treacherous and the ships can always fail even if by contaminating illnesses. I have a horrible fear of masses of water and height. Just looking at the drain lid of a pool brings up this fear. I don't know if we reincarnate since the Catholic religion says no but I feel my fears are from a past life. Today's ships look so beautiful but I just can't do🤷🏼👍🏼
Not that I know of. Since it was made it would it’s going to be very hard to find. And I don’t think motivation for treasure, I don’t think it was caring much in the way of value.
Such an interesting but tragic story. My sister and I are taking a trip to Savannah and Charleston in a couple of weeks, and among our plans is a dolphin boat tour from Tybee Island. (Also touring Bonaventure Cemetery and the Hunley Museum).
cool. make sure you don't miss Magnolia Cemetery, it right up there with Bonaventure. you may have seen this - th-cam.com/video/PI72NLsL5IU/w-d-xo.html
Wow. That cemetery when you entered reminds me of alot of cemeteries in Ireland with the rock or cement around them. I think I heard you call them cradle graves What a beautiful place.
Since i started watching your channel, i am so intrigued. I must ask though, respectfully, are you not afraid to be among the dead? Some of the grave yards seems to be kind of lonely and spooky. Please be safe. God bless❤❤
The cemetery is basically a library of books with stories waiting to be uncovered. The names and the dates: with today’s ancestry Internet tools - you can find some amazing history and stories, which I have proven in the last two years many times over. I think a lot of people miss that point
What is there to be afraid of…Its the living, those who can actually inflict harm upon you that should concern one the most. I find walks in the cemetery very peaceful and therapeutic. Excellent video!!
For those of you that missed the note I had put in the description box regarding the woman at the end:

Such a sad story thank you for sharing Ron😊
Ron, thank you for another wonderful "faces of the Forgotten". Your photography and narrations make us all feel we are part of the story.
well we are rall walking down the sidewalk with Ron so... hey ron get me a cup of coffee will ya?
As I said before, Ron, this is truly your place to shine, your storytelling is wonderful ❤
My God. The man fell into the crack of the sinking ship that cracked in half, the lifeboats that were sucked into the sea as the ship sunk, the woman who knows she will drown... How horrible. I absolutely love New Orleans. The food is my favorite. I love the music, architecture and the culture.
That city is pure enchantment! Loved it when we visited there!!
I love NOLA! I read about the Gallier house that was very modern for it's time! Love your tour! 💖🙏
We just can't begin to imagine the terror they must have felt in those desolate, angry seas, while awaiting their imminent fate. 😞 May they rest in peace.
Oh my goodness, I know what you’re saying I would have been terrified. And on a personal note to you you have my mom’s name.
Love watching your channel! I learn something new every time I watch. Your narrations, pace, and tone are top notch. I enjoy your humor, and audience interaction. Your wealth of life experience and knowledge of history. Keeps me coming back for more. Thank you so very much! 💖
Thank you for the very inspiring note, it makes a difference to hear back like this. Thank you again
Same feeling here❤
I love the stories providing the background and history of those passed. I truly love your channel!
I Love history and that's why your channel is so Great!!!

What a sweet comment! I agree..👏🏼👏🏼♥️
The wrought iron porches and columns are so pretty. Vicksburg, MS, has some of that, too.
Very sad but informative history..so many shipwrecks and their victims don't get remembered as do the big stories like Titanic..a touching tribute to a great man and the beautiful city of New Orleans.. You are the best storyteller! Thanks again for a great video!!

Great story Ron but very sad too. Ty for all you do Ron....Hope you are having a great vacation in Mexico!! 💕💕
Ron once again thank you for another fascinating story!! may they all RIP 🙏
Seriously only one passenger survived, the rest was crew and the captain 👩✈️, wow. Another great story Ron, tragic though. RIP ato all that perished.
This was a wonderful rendering of a very tragic story. You helped to make it feel like I was there watching this disaster unfold. These journeys can be painful at times but are so important to be undertaken in order to understand the past.

Sad story, but very interesting!!!

Thank you for telling this story. This is one we never have heard about. Such a tragedy. Beautiful memorial to them.

Just added this to my list of places to visit in November! Thank you Ron! Let the adventures continue.
That was the most beautiful cemetery I have ever seen!
In the heart of NOLA, where spirits roam free,
Lies St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, a sight to see.
Amidst the tombs and the whispers of gloom,
Stands the Tomb of the Doomed, a tale of doom.
Part 22 of the trip, an eerie affair,
As travelers tread with cautious care.

In search of tales that make hearts ponder.
The Tomb of the Doomed, a sight to behold,
With cryptic symbols and stories untold.
Legends whisper of a curse so dire,
That lingers around like a funeral pyre.

What spirits linger in its hallowed halls?
Part 22 of the journey, a chapter unknown,

I wish I could repair all these broken monuments. Ron we really enjoy watching these with your narration. You said before you wouldn't do one that someone else has done. My wife and I think no matter who else may have done a location before yours will still be better.
I was there with my daughter a few years ago. Very interesting place, full of History. Regards from Tampa, Florida.

Great another Sunday evening with ya'll while in Arizona!
4:18 Woodmen of the World monument. It's very distinctive in the wall of mausoleums surrounding it.
Sad and terrifying at the same time. Thank you.
I love your travels to New Orleans. One of my favorite cities ❤
I been missing you but trying to get caught up enjoy watching

I can't even imagine the horror of knowing that this is the way you're going to die. Ron, no one can tell a story the way you do, very captivating!
Beautiful place. Crazy story. What did they think would happen sitting on a lifeboat as the ship went down? Stay safe down south❤️
Wonderful story. Beautiful cemetery. Thank you.

Hi Ron, I enjoy you channel. You do a fantastic job. Always looking 👀 forward to your next ones. Greetings from outside Boston. 0:00
Wow what a story! Way to go, Ron. Great job! 👍🏻👍🏻

I love watching your videos.
Didn't make it to the debut but watching replay!
I'm learning a lot from your channel. Thanks.
I wish i still lived close by New Orleans. Still lots of popular stories there.
I learned something, thanks!

They say it's not the dead we should worry of but the living.
It isn't the dead that you need to be afraid of....it's the living. Cemeteries and graveyards are the most peaceful places.
Very interesting story, guess a ship like that has not much off a chance against a hurricane.
