Wow, Jay! It's true that you have a collection of cool tools and toys but your imagination and eye for style are your best assets. Truly blown away with this redo❣️
I’m struggling with my mistakes so I’m so very glad you told us about yours. Most of these flipping videos are so slick and then I mess up and I think .. what’s wrong with me ? Nothing. Mistakes happen. Fix them and move on. Love your videos !
Cannot believe it's the same piece you started with. What a fabulous transformation for this little cabinet. The use of the shoe rack -- WOW! Just beautiful.
You nailed the design-it’s stunning! Your re-use of the shoe rack is worth copying. I’m happy to see you acquiring more of the tools you need. Your neighbor is very lucky to get this piece!
If your paint is clogging the paint gun, try filtering your paint first(use the large "v" shaped coffee filters, while pouring the paint in)...works beautifully every time....no more issues if you do this EVERY time!!!....the cabinet came out super!!...love the added touch of the legs....
Beautiful piece, wouldn’t believe it was the same one that you started with, just shows that even the ugliest things can be turned into something gorgeous, well done👏🏻👏🏻
I started watching this last week and then we brought home two 9 week old kittens. Hadn't a chance to watch again until today. Holy moly Jay, such a transformation. It's gone from tat to treasure. You have blown me away again. Love the engraving and the brass pieces really elevate it. I think the brass trim is starting to become your signature and a fine signature it is. Well done. Hope you're feeling much better now.
@@Flippingdrawers We used to hate cats and loved dogs. I was brought up to hate cats. Then a little black kitten came home with my son one evening and he was so sick and hungry and we just fell in love. After 7 months here he walked out of the house last august and never came back. Then we got a little tortie kitten - Trixie. She died after a horrible fall in the kitchen when chasing a fly. We haven't had much luck with kitties. Hoping we have better luck with these two guys. I think they have an issue with their voice boxes. One never mews and the other one is so quiet although it sounds like she's trying to scream out. Unfortunately they're the product of inbreeding. The house they were in had 15 cats none of which were neutered. Started with 3 cats and then cats had litters and litters were kept. Such a mess. Someone intervened and got all 15 cats neutered, took the kittens and offered to get them homes. So we took the last two. They're so funny and they're great wee buddies. So glad we didn't split them up.
This transformation is stunning, your imagination is so broad and creative! I always watch for the before & after contrast. The process is also fascinating.
I'm a bit late, but wow, what a beautiful piece! So much originality, with the reuse of the shoe rack, btw, love the wood grain on the spindles, perfection! As well as the ingraving, great design, the brass trim, the legs, the choice of paint and clear coat, I can't say enough, truly a beautiful piece!
Great job🙌. I was a bit sad you didn't keep the glass doors, but the shoe rack replacement fitted really nicely! Very creative! I love that you are so creative with upcycling things 👍👍. Love it!
Really nice, very creative upgrade. I do think just a little darker tone on the bottom slide doors and the legs to more closely match the shoe rack color would have really brought this piece together but it's a stunning improvement.
LoL There's the unicorn again, 🦄 😍, I'm so thrilled this didn't go green, it would've been too dark, but maybe that's why you changed your plans. I'm soooo jealous of the Lazer cutting machine you got they are a real game changer for anyone
W O W! This is a stunning piece doesn’t even look like the same one you started with. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me, Jay. Love the new legs, what you did with the rungs of the shoe rack and the laser design you chose is perfect for this beautiful piece (I’m seriously considering getting this for my husband for Father’s Day). The addition of the brass totally elevates the look. That electric scraper is so cool and amazing how fast it works. I’m loving your new shop, it’s so functional and the fact that you have a window to look out while working at your workbench.💜
Jay, where do you call home? I love watching whatever it is that your videos present. You have been given a gift, like an artist with an easel. You are amazing to watch. I agree that leaving the mistakes in the video makes it real. Best wishes have a blessed weekend.❤
When i was a child(1960/1970) my parents had a forniture like this in the kitchen. I remember very well! I like too much the transformation you has done! ( Excuse if my english is not good!). Very very beautiful❤
Just lovely, as always. I so enjoy your creativity. Never would I have used a shoe rack, but it was the perfect touch. This piece could easily have come from a 1950s home. I love it, and thank you for all the time and TLC that go into your projects. Fantastic!!
This is crazy!! You started with an ugly thing and turned it into a beautiful piece!! The addition of the shoe rack pieces, the brass and the engraving are the cherries on an already delicious Sunday.
I’ve just come across your channel and immediately subscribed. What a unique and creative transformation, your neighbour is very lucky. So many wonderful design elements in this piece - the brass really finished it off.
I love seeing you working in your new space. You have so much more room and your workroom is so efficient. Congratulations on the growth of your channel and videos, looking forward to many more uploads!
I wish you were my neighbor 😅 haha! Watching your videos make me kinda want to tackle my coffee table where spilt acetone has ruined the varnish (I should really pick a better place to do my nails... 😳😬🥴)... But I'm notoriously clumsy and would probably ruin it by over sanding a spot or something. Maybe I should "accidentally" spill acetone over the rest and pick a varnish colour I like (or wax if it's proper wood and the grain is ~*~aesthetic~*~ 😅)
Absolutely wonderful work of artistic transformation...oh, that was graciously honest of you to share your mistakes...thank you for "flipping drawers with all of us! Bravo, Busy Man!
My daughter who is 6 yrs old watches your videos with me when she's struggling to fall asleep because she says it's very calming to watch you work and she loved this one especially because of the unicorn. 🦄😊
This is a bathroom cabinet. We had one on the wall above the toilet my whole childhood ( late 60"s thru mid 80's). In fact it looked exactly like this, except the glass was frosted. Wow. Memories...... 14 yr old Me locked in the bathroom doing my hair/ makeup, blasting REO Speedwagon, Journey, Foreigner, & Styx, getting ready to go to the skating rink 💗💗💗😏
I love the fact that you have a nice workroom now and you are collecting some really nice tools. Would you like to do a few tutorials on how to use these tools?
@@Flippingdrawers I think you might be surprised how many people would love those tutorials. There's nothing on u tube showing anything really properly. You'd have to do close ups so that we can see properly etc. I for one would be ecstatic. My hubby always took everything out of my hand instead of showing me so now I don't know how to do anything properly.
The cabinet is wonderful. And it’s very enjoyable just watching you go through your process. You are truly a cabinet maker and a master at your profession. It is gorgeous.
Oh that turned out so good, I grew up with a grandma who had these tilted cabinets but her doors where solid wood. Fun to see them come back alive again.
Nicely done, as always! My only suggestion is that you edit your videos to be louder. I love the soft quiet mood of your videos, but since I have to turn them up to hear them, when the ads come on they are so loud it's jolting. If your videos were louder, I could keep the volume much softer and the ads wouldn't make me jump!
I have a hutch that is Burl Walnut veneer and I was unsure how to finish it and it is just been sitting in my shop for me doing research and studying on the best way to do it. I just watched your video and you have helped me out. Again thank you so very much for making these videos for us to watch
Oh my gosh I just love that retro look! Doesn’t look anywhere near the same what it was, it looks 100 times better! I like the geometric design. I also like your recycle of your rack. Wonderfully creative! Take care!
I'm not sure how I missed a comment so long ago when I watched this video so I thought I would watch it all over again. I'm glad I did as I picked up on some more little things that you did that helped make it the stunning success that it was. I am sure it has stood proud since you performed your magic on it & I am sure it will continue to stand proud for a long time. Cheers, Don from South Australia.
Thanks!
That is very kind of you! Thank you so much
Beautiful mid-century look. Not trashy anymore!!
I’m not really into retro style but you do such an amazing job I cannot stop watching.
Wow, Jay! It's true that you have a collection of cool tools and toys but your imagination and eye for style are your best assets. Truly blown away with this redo❣️
Wow, thanks! you are too kind ;-)
Totally agree❤
My nan had a unit like this in her kitchen. I love how you've turned it into a beautiful cabinet.
I’m struggling with my mistakes so I’m so very glad you told us about yours. Most of these flipping videos are so slick and then I mess up and I think .. what’s wrong with me ? Nothing. Mistakes happen. Fix them and move on. Love your videos !

Yuo. Mistakes are part of the creative process.
Cannot believe it's the same piece you started with. What a fabulous transformation for this little cabinet. The use of the shoe rack -- WOW! Just beautiful.
Thank you Arlene😉
I really like how you don't leave any detail on each piece undone. This was another amazing flip! Great job ✌️
You nailed the design-it’s stunning! Your re-use of the shoe rack is worth copying. I’m happy to see you acquiring more of the tools you need. Your neighbor is very lucky to get this piece!

Thanks Emer. I do like brass but will definitely experiment with other materials. Glad you enjoyed it. I love 🐱

Every time I watch one of your projects, your skill and imagination just amazes me!
I just love the added slats, and engraved doors❤❤❤. Those legs, make it such a stand out gorgeous piece now😊😊😊
Amazing transformation, you have a great imagination or rather artistic eye.
Thank you 🙏

Another fine job by the world,s most famous Furniture Restoration man , and his name is JAY.

Love this very "art deco" that you used, looks great. Thanks for sharing this video. 😁👍🇺🇸

Awesome transformation, your friend is going to be so shocked when he sees this!
I hope he pays you for it. It’s so worth a high end price!
I love the engraving on the doors. You’re right, the brass does make it look more posh.

I remember freestanding kitchen cabinets where the upper portion had glass sliding doors and drawers for utensils and napkins/tea towels.
My mom and dad had one of these in the 70’s but it never looked that good, once again flippin’ marvellous
Ha ha thanks🥰
All these small refinements along with the big changes redoes this to be almost unrecognizable. Thank you for your care to the details.
Just wow ❤, such imagination and beauty. Nothing is ever wasted with that imagination. I love this piece.
I love the fact that you have a nice workroom now and you are collecting some really nice tools. Would you like to do a few tutorials on how to use these tools?
