I think you need to consider it more like a limited edition Monster or Samurai because you have an updated movement and quality materials, rare looking components, etc. So $600 isn't unreasonable.
Thanks for the inspiration Rob. I think I'm going to turn an SRP773, which seems slightly too big for my wrist, into my dream SKX with winding and hacking. Great job on your build and thanks for the videos
I have to say thats a very nice mod, and I agree with doing the swap like you did... Not having to disassemble hands dial and all that seems worth it. Very nice.
The SKX is my favorite case design of Seiko's. Building out dream SKX is hard to put a price on. Glad to see you have yours now.

I like it. The monotone blue, fully minute-ticked bezel insert is fantastic, WAY better than all the bi-color bezels that just look imbalanced and imprecise. If it was mine I'd put on a Bonetto Cinturini strap & deployant - easy to take on & off and just looks clean.
Rob, another great build with quality parts! Every component of the build looks like it belongs together. It’s an awesome watch. Those Seiko blue dials are mesmerizing. I’ve been wearing my modded SKX every day since I got it in the mail! If you ever want to sell this watch.....
I would have no idea what something like this should sell for. Sadly I am guessing less then the parts. Lol

Awesome build, looks great. I took a standard 009 & put a Namoki navy blue ceramic bezel with a navy blue crafter blue rubber strap which fits perfect.
Nice build, take the leap and do the nh35 swap sometime, it’s easier than you think
Nice! I’m 100% the type of person that would pay an additional $50 for a drop in hassle free build. Hell I’m the kinda guy that will pay retail for a watch only to find out ten minutes later I could have saved a good $100 shopping around....🤷🏼♂️
Great build Rob. Looks like it could have come from the factory that way...which is how I prefer my builds.

Beautiful! The namoki bezel is killer! man all the little parts that don't come with the CT case add up quick! No minute track on the dial or chapter ring doesn't bug you?
Hasn’t so far, I just use the dots on the insert.

Tempting. For better or worse I started wearing my turtle again to see if I wanted to do this exact swap. But then I fell in love with the turtle again lol. I have the original save the ocean turtle and I think I'm just gonna put in a sapphire insert and maybe a new bracelet to spice it up

Rob - I'd be interested in your thoughts on the ease or lack thereof in making a bezel insert switch. It seems from what I've seen, removing the bezel is easy but removing the insert is not. So does it make sense to buy a bezel and install the insert and then install the combo on the watch? I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
I think heating the insert up to get the adhesive to soften and then remove should work.

I sold that awhile ago.
Calling it an SKX mod wouldn't exactly accurate since it never was an SKX to begin with. At best you might call it SKX inspired, but really a dog of a different color so to speak.
