for the best scout experience, play Marisa or you can try playing Impossible Spell Card, where Seija has to try and go at close range (or even sit on the bosses’ faces) to beat them before they hit you
Scout would make 99% of everyone in Touhou angry by just how annoying he is. He'd dodge Marisa's master sparks like he dodges Sniper, he'd give Sakuya a run for her money, he'd drive Reisen insane, and he'd be doing all this while insulting you about how much of a force of nature he is, and how badly your aim sucks.
Of all the "pick" classes in the game, I would say scout is the most fair. Spy is frustrating to die to but only because it's rarely if ever a fair interaction. And then sniper pushes that even further by being able to do what spy does better in almost every way. The only thing that makes scout frustrating to fight is what the scout player chooses to do after they get the kill. If they choose to immediately locate the next target or otherwise move on, then everything's cool. It's when the scout player chooses to taunt that things start escalating.
SpaceGuyOnline is such a real dude, I love how humble your videos are, they're very "your friend is talking with you" style of video making. Absolutely love em
I completely agree. I love his videos and can’t get enough. I don’t want him to get the wrong idea (if he even reads this), I do understand that he is a human, and thus, has a life outside of being a video-churning machine, and I don’t want him to become that just because some idiot in a youtube comment mentioned it.
Out of all the annoying classes, scout isn't too bad. I respect what it takes for scout to get in and get kills, and it never feels cheap to die to one
Thx god, almost all comments i see about Scout is too negative. Of course he is annoying, he is a flank class, like a vulture, a playstyle that is "supposed" to take out hurt enemies... But in reality, Scout has a playstyle of runing around, watch which player is most vulnerable to attacks, and strike and if you can kill 1 or 2 more ppl , ur job is done. i main Scout, and yes of course i get a little bit salty when a Scout kill me too, but is like that Scout is desingned to be fast and deadly. Scout is not an easy class to play, it requires skill, movement and pacience. a F2P with 3 or 10 hrs in the game is going to suck as a Scout, like i have 350+ hrs on Scout and i still can master the class that good. While a heavy, soldier ,pyro, demo, are easily the easiest classes to play of course it takes hrs to master those classes as well, but for Scout is different.
Don't worry, I already hate you with every fiber in my being, straight to my core there is nothing but a pure everlasting hatred for you CyberWizard, the man who defended the Cleaners Carbine.
@@SpaceGuyOnline CC is pointless. Jarate exists, why give 8 seconds on mini crits to yourself for a painful 100 damage activation threshold (WITH slower firing speed and an accuracy penalty!) when you can coat the enemy in mysterious kidney liquid for longer, for free, AND help for your team win the mid-fight for free, and is able to extinguish you and your teammates? (Bushwhacka is good on both of them at-least, but jarate is still better because it’s free instead of having to have 100 damage stored)
@@theovermind6041 cleaners carbine falls into the "bad at pubs, great at MVM" category. in pubs, jarate does its job better with less effort required. in MVM, that gun lets sniper shred tanks
Depends on where it's placed. Scout can kill sentries too unless the spot chosen is specifically designed to stop him. FFS, if Engie's not around at all and the Scout has the time and patience, he can kill any sentry. It's moreso that it's rare in practical scenarios that Scout has the time to kill one, but if a Scout goes toe-to-toe with an isolated Engie + Sentry, then yeah, Engie's gambling if he dares leave his sentry nest to try and drive Scout off.
Not necessarily, he contrasts it with being actually outskilled by a competent scout, so he is neglecting hoe people actually when they get scoped (frustrated and powerless) but in principle he gets it, the victim's skill has little effect
For those interested: Shotgun has a max ramp-up of 150% dmg Scattergun has a max ramp-up of 175% Shotgun also has a first reload speed of 1.0s and scattergun has a first reload speed of .7s And those are the *only* differences that I saw in the wiki
aside from the rampup and initial reload the scattergun and shotgun are equal in damage, spread, fire rate, continuous reload and ammo. you only feel the spread difference because of the nature of scout specializing at close range and probably also the models of the weapons
Very excited to finally see this out!!! I feel like you nailed everything thing about scout that tend to make people frustrated great video and loving the sfm, also getting to see myself perish is always fun
@@ScurvyBoi wdym fakeing your death is running away would it make more sense if the spy would charge you instead? Or are you saying that there are multiple ways of easily knowing if the spy dr or not, (huds, sound, etc)
1:00 I never do this, I think “wow! I love how the sniper can just delete all my health regardless of whatever range he’s at, with no way to counter it other than going sniper as well!”
Sniper is however, a class forever condemned by map design. I mean, all classes are, yes... but most classes have a method of handling the map. Spies can turn invisible and thus work around problematic locations. Soldiers and demomen are very fast and able to move around the map swiftly, scout is just.... reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally fast, pyro can airblast most problems away (and even HE has mobility now), and engineer is a backliner that effects the map via his own choices, rather than the map effecting him. Sniper, heavy, and medic are very much dependent on their teammates. And a Sniper who is covered by his teammates, is indeed a nightmare to behold. But... a Sniper who isn't secured? He's easy pickings. Even the most aware snipers let their guards down. Heavy is just bad in just about everything but performs his one job very well, and medic is a class that's always with someone who can make up for their short comings. Therefor, most maps require snipers to either be in predictable positions, or vulnerable positions. And the only time a sniper is unfair is if it's a bot, or if it's a really poor map design (A lot of the old maps for example).
@@aickavon The thing that I dislike about sniper is the fact that a good sniper with a team defending around him really has no counter play. Yeah sure you can use the vaccinator but that needs a medic to switch off their current medi-gun to arguably the weaker one of his options. Otherwise you just have to sit and accept that you don't get to play anymore until your medic either builds uber, has the vacc, or a spy somehow manages to avoid the entire enemy team and kill that one good sniper. Even then you only get maybe a brief grace period during the time it takes for the sniper to respawn and get back into position. This issue only gets amplified by a second or even third sniper. But like is said, on contrast if a sniper is just bad or his team doesn't defend him, it's effectively a wasted character slot.
@@grimms8783 while its true a good sniper with a responsive team is a nightmare, the same can be said about an engineer, demoman, or soldier. A team that will support them will make them almost demi-gods to deal with. They all have very power heavy weapons/kits that make them sticky to take down. Now there are ways to handle those snipers... and one of them is a Pyro. With a specific secondary. One which encourages rage beyond anyone's reckoning. One that torments snipers anywhere and everywhere. The scorchshot.
@@aickavon pyro is a close/mid class and the scorch is mostly going to just annoy the enemy sniper, not going to be very effective in killing him, especially if he’s is using the jarate/ darwin’s danger shield/cozy camper, and if you are distracted trying to shoot a scorch shot at the sniper you can easily get killed by a spy or basically any other class, and if appear again, the sniper will most likely be waiting for you, and as a spy, even if you manage to pass trough the enemy lines you risk getting yourself killed by either a random crit or the jarate + bushwaka combo
@@ahedgehog9297 The point of the scorch shotting a sniper is that he's forced to A) Jarate himself which... Scorch shot has a better reload than Jarate. And B) get scorchshotted again. If he doesn't have jarate, well... he now has flinch. The point isn't to kill him but to put him out of action and he will most definitely be shut down and out of action. Everytime he runs for a healthpack, he's not sniping. Thus your team is able to make a push. As for being killed by a spy... that requires a really unaware pyro. the scorch shot is one of the most brainless weapons to use, and thus you just lob it into the sniper's corner and dive back into cover, checking your 6. Unless you are the only one diving out of cover, the Sniper is pretty busy (on a well designed map). Being on both ends of the scorchshot spectrum, I can tell you. A simple lob or two of the scorch shot will shut down a sniper and thus, effectively take him out of the fight. A pyro can easily switch back to his main flamethrower weapon and either play defense against explosive classes and keep an eye out for sniper to be ready again (and make his life pain), or be more aggressive and take a push while the sniper is away. The best part of the scorch shot is it works on multiple snipers too, if they're huddled up, you've given them all that lovely, annoying, flinch. And the scorchshot just... works in teamfights over all. It's really just that powerful. The only way to really stop a scorch shot... shot from hitting, is by having a pyro stand next to the sniper, and really... if there is a pyro that dedicated to protecting a god tier sniper, then you're fighting against some weird fucking premade team.
I've been trying to get better at scout for a while and, as an engineer main, it is quite the jump in mentality. With any power class YOU are just as much in charge of the battle as your enemy. They fears your rockets, you fear their Heavy. With Scout it's not that. You cant just engage an enemy that has twice your HP pool and more equal damage output unlike a Soldier or Demomen can. Learning to pick my fights, bail when it turns sour, and gets my hits in quick has been quite the journey and there are many more matches to test my mettle in, but it's a blast when things go well.
i disagree. i'd say that with scout, youre in charge of every fight even if its a class with double your health. you can easily force any enemy to play by your rules and kill them as scout because of scouts mobility. the only fight you should really be avoiding is a fully overhealed heavy.
As a huge Fan o War fan, something it does well is combo with your secondaries. Long range pistols are nice, but how about the potential to do over 125 damage with a guillotine(,and have mini crit sound ASMR to boot)?
Fan o' War definitely underrated if you know you can't easily get a finisher, such as when you're facing a well coordinated team covering each other. However, double jump in, stick a nice debuff on their main power class and let your team have a better time taking them down. Absolutely can play havoc with heavy / medic pub stompers or eyelander demoknight cheesing.
I'll never forget. I always liked to play Scout, but at the same time I always felt like I was never good at it. There was this casual match where I took down an Engi, and he said in the chat: "Too much jump, too little skill". The moment I read that I laughed to myself, and said: "Yep, I'm getting good"
Honestly? I haven't encountered nearly any Scout hate from both around me, or personally. He can dodge projectiles like a madman and do insane head to head damage, but he's always in the thick of the fighting while being made of paper glass; there's so much risk yet so much reward that even as a Medic main who is constantly screaming to the sky about not getting 2 shot from behind, I can't help but think "Well that was a ballsy flank" after dying to a Scout while in the middle of my team. Sniper on the other hand is one I can't really tolerate since unlike Scout, he controls so much space for free; at least Scout and Spy both have to stick their necks out not just for a kill, but to be anything beyond a minor nuisance. Even if he isn't hitting his shots, crossing his sightline is effectively just a pure gamble of whether or not this is the time he clicks on my head, while no one on our team can contest him since he's safely tucked behind his own team. As a Medic, having to watch my back and juggle healing is fun, but having whole sections of the map cut off while I wait for our own Sniper to try and kill the one shutting it all down is honestly... boring.
Honestly the only time it feels cheap dying to a scout is when they spam the guillotine down a choke or they catch you at low health anyways and one peppered shot picks you off. Otherwise, well shit man you earned it.
I can respect good scout players. Good sniper or spy classes less so. They're cheap surprise gimmicks compared to solid movement and scattergun aim. You know where you stand in a match up with scout, and the other offense classes.
I'm a scout main and this video is so true. Scout really is hated. I don't taunt on people, I don't even talk to people, and yet people will get angry and salty at me just for playing. Everyone hates a good scout. Once you are good, it doesn't matter how you act, they will call you a scunt and harass you for playing the class regardless. Once you reach a certain skill level, it's impossible to not see how much scout is hated.
idk I feel the exact opposite. When I die to someone solely because they literally just outplayed me I’m like “ok, that was my fault, my bad.” For example as a heavy if I’m dying to scout or demo or soldier, that’s because I took confrontations I shouldn’t have or they are just way better than me. That’s fine. When I walk out of spawn and get headshot by a dude hiding behind the wall who just shot me through a 10 pixel gap in the wall, I don’t feel like I got outplayed. I feel like I got fucked by something I literally have no counterplay to. The counterplay for sniper is “don’t get hit” which is not really ample counterplay when it’s basically impossible to disrupt snipers a lot of the time. Spies, though, I give serious credit to. I don’t LIKE being backstabbed, sure, but spy risks a hell of a lot more to get that kill and I can acknowledge like “okay, I need to be more paranoid than I have been.” I prefer getting fucked over because of my own mistakes rather than dumb shit that’s basically outside my control.
Met a very good scout today on Altitude He had 2 deaths and 54 kills, so he was definitely something But I never felt bad or angry, I was just "oh this guy is very good"
as a scout main, i think the fact that the class kind of enourages you to get in character and be an annoying little shit is part of what makes him so special. like i could play the midfight and use my high dps and mobility to help my team out, or i could use it to get into some annoying spot nobody would ever check and just terrorize the enemy snipers
has anyone seen scouts on deathrun maps, they ruin EVERYTHING else for the deathrunners team, losing a respawn coin, hogging special easter egg items and blocking the firstperson view during hard traps or pits
Force-a-Nature doesn't hurt less, it hurts more. The highest meatshot damage with FaN that I got throughout my plays was about 130 (stock scattergun deals 10 less damage at max) which is enough to oneshot any light class, it's problem is that it deals a meatshot at a closer range than the stock scattergun. In other words Force-a-Nature is basically just a melee weapon that requires bullets and hurts more than the stock scattergun.
You're referring to the meatshot that is impossible to get because the bullets pushes away the target therefor ensuring less bullets hit and thus hurting less?
I’ve been watching from the shadows for a month or so, and seeing this sick video and the amazing growth in quality of your content is what I needed to finally sub. I wanna be in on these videos when they happen. Top notch man! Please keep it going.
I think that gimmick scouts are the most respectful kind of scout, like the crit-a-cola fish strategy or the sniper-scout (launching ornaments at a far range) or one of my favorites the Simpsons hit and run (running over to the enemy, hitting them with the fan o’ war once or twice and running away leaving then to your team’s mercy) The fact that these are more absurd ways to be killed gives an initial shock factor that only leaves respect afterwards.
Note, Bonk is only bad when used to approach. What makes it really busted is it's ability to guarantee a scouts escape, no matter how bad his positioning.
I know of one strat with bonk. If you have an enemy Sentry that is giving your team a hard time and your team's medic has no Uber, you could use Bonk as a makeshift Uber and run ahead and draw the sentry(s) fire while the rest of the team wreck it
@@derrinerrow4369 Yep true, I've seen this strat several times both with or without medic. Distracting the sentry is very situational because most of the time a Lvl 3 Sentry rocket would just knock the scout farther into the air than nearer (luckily if the scout can be pushed into a ceiling corner and not change target) Bonk went from an escape/infiltrating enemy lines tool to a straight-up distractor. Speaking of Ubers, the Boston Basher farming strat works, but that's practically 2 kinda "afk" players until they fully charge it
@@derrinerrow4369 ooooor.. you could get behind the engineer, and force his own sentry to *annihilate him* So, no more engi, no more infinite sentry health :).
The ability to meat shot players from the next postal code using a crit-a-cola short stop combo never ceases to amaze me. Until I meet the enemy Scout and immediately get mulched because they exploited my medium range nature. But I can never get tired of deleting the other teams medic combo with up to TWELVE blasts of 64 damage unrestricted by damage fall off. Its just the highlight of my day when it happens.
Tbh the scout is perfect, everything from the look to the noises to the gameplay style just wants me to take that f*cker, smash him into ground and taunt, He fits perfectly, fighting against good scout might take ages, and spies are terrorized by them. There is nothing I would change, maybe change baby face blaster cause it kinda sucks, but other than that, Scout is perfectly Balanced, he runs like annoying fly, he kills, he taunts, and he dies.
To be fair, the BFB is just hard to use, moderate rewards for higher risks that that's just outshined by other weapons; the others giving more for les risk. BFB makes scout an even more powerful punish class with only a slight mobility reduction. You can just equip the winger, the atomic bat or the FoN and be more effective. Make the boost lost on damage less punishing and it's pretty good.
About a year ago, I was being dominated by a wallhacking scout who would camp at our intel (2fort) and taunt after every kill and his FON was cheat boosted by shooting both shots at the same time thus to one of the reasons I hate scouts to this day, also almost any scout I encountered would taunt after every kill and it gets annoying really quick
Well, I guess you can advance slowly like how you advance against a demoman as engie in class wars. Idk I've never dealt with something like this before. Though it is interesting what kind of outcomes come out with strategies. Sorry if this is coming out in an aggressive way.
You forgot to talk about the bfb and backscatter (which fair enough are regarded as the worst scatterguns but let’s be honest you can succeed with any scatter gun) the baby face makes the class that already is fast even faster with the caveat that he can’t double jump and the back scatter is just spy lite mode and also he’s very mobile with a good secondary and melee that aren’t relegated to last ditch effort weapons.
Baby's Face is kinda a write off, like yes it can make Scout faster and technically harder to hit but being unable to double jump really outsets that. As for the Backscatter "it's like the Stock Scattergun... but only better if you're behind them and worse every other time." Pointless to bring it up when it would just drop disregarded so quickly
the backscatter isnt bad per se, the real issue is the stock scattergun is just that good, personally i would honestly jsut get rid of teh ammo penalty as the inaccuracy penalty hurts enough as is.
@@SpaceGuyOnline i have tried double jumping with the bfb and in my experience it isnt such a problem as long as you can bakc it up with another meatshot in short notice.
@@SpaceGuyOnline You can still double jump, you just need to be doing 50+ dmg each time you do soo. besides, its rare to see on the battle field and as such not many people are consistent in hitting you and sense you are moving faster than even a 4 head demoknight you are finally able to grab those other scouts that after every kill run for the hills. a really S***** time. the cleaver helps with collection of SPEED so does the rappassasion with its bauble of guaranteed crits due to a bug or code oversight.
@@Rammkommando oh no don’t get me wrong I love the back scatter, I used my name tag and item description from Christmas on it. But it’s definitely not up to par, and by par I mean the scattergun since every other scattergun that is it either that or the soda popper blows in comparison. Thankfully this makes the weapons still able to be playable since they are outclassed instead of broken bad. Personally what I’d do is either A. A decrease in damage in the front and remove the other 2 negatives or B. Make it so only a non mini crit shot reduces clip size and remove the accuracy rebuff.
scout isn't as annoying as sniper, at least scout needs aim and practice and to be close to the enemy, sniper is instant delete from anywhere on the map with no warning, sniper is 100000000% worse
the difference is that sniper has plenty of counters, although not all of them apply to all snipers since it's loadout dependent. the vaccinator, scorch shot, detonator, direct hit, demospam (both pills and stickies), wrengled sentries, scouts, good spies and other snipers all counter sniper in most cases and even heavy can hold his own unless its a really long range spot or sniper has the cosy camper. what makes scout more annoying than sniper is that his only counters are sentry guns, other scouts and demoknights with enough heads to chase him down, with the later two still being a 50/50 shot on who wins that exchange and even the sentry only works when its in a spot where scout gets pushed into a corner the moment he walks in so he can't just run back out of the sentries line of sight.
In my opinion sniper is far more infuriating to deal with. Scout needs to get close to you since his mid-long range capabilities are pretty bad. Sniper however can oneshot you from anywhere on the map and you can't really do anything about it other than just not being in his sightline. But even when you get close to him he can still oneshot you with either a quickscope (which happens more times than you might think), a jarate+bushwacka combo or just a random crit with any other melee. That class is in a dire need for some nerfs because the moment any relatively skilled sniper enters the server - it's game over. Just leave. There is nothing you can do to this jackass.
Haha that's so true, you can't really blame anything when you get killed by a scout, you just got outplayed and theres something infuriating about this class in particular. They're so cocky, so bold, jumping everywhere taunting you. You see them coming, trying to defend yourself and yet they still get you somehow dodging all of your attacks or killing you faster than you could kill him. When you get killed by Sniper it's very frustrating but you know why. You don't have to blame yourself for any mistake since there is nothing you could have done anyway except hiding the whole game. But when a scout get you, there is a reason, you have to ask yourself a question: Where did i fucked up? Was it luck? Is he just better than me? No i can't accept that this bragging arrogant piece of ***** just outplayed me, that's gotta be my teammates, yea, it's their fault, they screw up by letting him getting this close.. i ain't getting outskilled pff no way. But it's still in your head after the game, you're feeling less secure about your own skill, the scout is already inside your mind, you can almost hear him laugh at you. Now you want to start huting for them, to prove yourself it was just a lucky kill that has nothing to do with skill. You want the next scout you meet to be dead meat, you're starting to hate this class and at the same time it's fascinating you. You're starting to play scout, scout and only scout every single game, abandoning all the fun of a pyro wm1ing around, or a demo spamming or a soldier rocket jumping around. And then you get your ass kicked, especially by other scouts, which makes you hate this class even more. And eventually you're just giving it up, not giving a crap about scout, not scout, whatever kills you, you don't care anymore... or do you?
There is one problem as scout. Since you are fast and can dodge bullets and stuff, you are fast so most of the time you might miss. I have this problem. Without proper training that will happen. It mostly happens to new players or players like me who are decent, but not good at the game and have only been playing tf2 for 3 years.
Might respond to his tierlist of items, his argument for why Sniper is OP is horrible but I do agree that there are issues with Sniper, none which he properly mentions or understands.
@@SpaceGuyOnline i honestly just think sniper is annoying because you can't do anything against him exept avoid him and flank him Not OP tho, maybe does need an extremely miniscule nerf
@@InsertFunnyThingHere Already made a video regarding Sniper anyways, although I do agree that his annoyance comes from your inability to do anything, with Spy you can turn around and be paranoid/develop game sense. With Sniper the game sense of "There's a Sniper standing there" is present but you can't actually act on it like with Spy.
I don't think giving Sniper double the ADS Speed would do anything because then they'd just charge and still kill you in one shot. What can be done is more weapons to counter the Sniper such as flashbangs, increased range on weapons. Or the Sniper can be given a longer reload because the default Sniper rifle and most others don't have a magazine you have to put the bullet in yourself yet he doesn't need to do it. What this will is make missing much more punishing as Sniper.
Scout is also pretty much immune to spies As long as he moves constantly, social distances from his teammates and spies, doesn’t leave his back to a wall he hasn’t looked at and just move forward and back constantly shooting at someone, letting me.. I mean a potential spy backstab them
With Scout's speed and jump it's really difficult to take them down as Soldier, so I just avoid them or maybe try to do some splash damage and then run away
I always found it weird how much hate Scout gets given he’s probably the class with the most counters say for Spy. Seriously, what the hell is a scout supposed to do when there’s 3 engineers on the other team?
I mean any lone class will lost to 3 Engineers all packed up. ...but in a fair comparison they can use Bonk drawing Sentry fire as their team all pushes up and cleans up. He does effectively counter Soldiers and Demoman due to mobility hence being much harder to hit with a slow moving projectile and low skill snipers will be helpless. He can outrange/escape a Pyro and a Medic is still helpless. A Spy won't backstab him either... meaning Revolver.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 Its less about Matchups and more about environment in my opinion. Every class excels in either Close quarters or open areas. Scout works INCREDIBLY well in an open courtyard or some shit where he, as you said, has a solid chance of fighting some serious power classes if he's careful with his footwork. The corridors of Turbine or 2fort are my bane and will always the places where the others will often come out on top unless I take the advantage with an ambush(something I'm supposed to do anyway.)
I currently have a can of Bonk! and an Atomizer, and I am trying to get a Soda-Popper and any Bonk! themed cosmetics so I can have a full "Sponsored by Bonk!" loadout. Also Bonk! has its uses, I played on a community server that turned the BLU team into MVM robots, and we played a tank game. When the tank is destroyed and the giant robot goes down, I can run in, grab the bomb, and down a can of Bonk! and rush to the end at super speed without taking damage, securing the victory.
I hate fighting Scout because he's so fast you can't get away from him it doesn't matter how hard you try you can't get away from a scout and that's just annoying how he's allowed to pick while you're not
I hate it that his gun doesn't sound powerful enough. It doesn't properly communicate the strength of the weapon and I often die when it doesn't feel nor sound like I should have.
Scout doesn't deserve hate at all, he's the only class that has hard counter, Engy, literally not even close to op class outside of 5 control point gamemode
Scout is what his father wished he could be. Useful. Fast. Hard hitting with all of his weapons. Not easy to counter without having the skill to kill him. Spy got the low end of the stick here. Put in a game where spamming AoE and shooting your teammates has no consequence. One can only hope one day Valve will nerf spamming and buff Spy in a way he can be as cool as in the trailer without causing massive frustration to the one playing him.
Scout is simply the strongest class in the game and often wins fights by taking them when he's at an advantage. There's a lot of players who want their opponent to "fight fair" so they can prove they're better at fighting. The problem is Scout is actively *encouraged* not to fight fair, so this will enrage such players. To top it off, Scout is actually the best 1v1 class in the game, so it's this combination of Scout being more than capable of killing any opponent when in the right hands. This means what you can expect to see is Scout taking fights that are to his advantage, getting a domination on someone, that player might shout at the Scout and tell him to fight fair, and then once Scout fights fair he *still wins.* I'm sure plenty of us are fine with Scout, but the ones who get enraged by this playstyle...? They're probably absolutely tilted.
Unlike some people I admit that I’m bad at something. But I swear upon my life if I want to be good at that something I will do everything in my power to get good at it, if I have the time of course.

Even most of Scouts counters have trouble killing him. Only the Sentry Gun can truly stop a Scout in his tracks.

Yeah, literally every other class is close-mid range other than sniper.
Not necessarily, he contrasts it with being actually outskilled by a competent scout, so he is neglecting hoe people actually when they get scoped (frustrated and powerless) but in principle he gets it, the victim's skill has little effect
It’s because he’s a filthy sniper main 🤮
@Welcome to the Sabbath is that supposed to be a joke?
@Welcome to the Sabbath on what map is that an option?
Fun fact the scattergun shares every stats the shotgun has an everything but damage and looks
For those interested:
Shotgun has a max ramp-up of 150% dmg
Scattergun has a max ramp-up of 175%
Shotgun also has a first reload speed of 1.0s and scattergun has a first reload speed of .7s
And those are the *only* differences that I saw in the wiki
@@Sh1ranu1 If I remember correctly regular Shotgun had higher fire rate and a bit more range
The scattergun i think has a slightly wider spread
aside from the rampup and initial reload the scattergun and shotgun are equal in damage, spread, fire rate, continuous reload and ammo. you only feel the spread difference because of the nature of scout specializing at close range and probably also the models of the weapons
@Blackout every shotgun in the game has that recoil

go on the sides of himi never understand why people treat Sniper like this
My favorite part of this series is the “you type in the chat” gag
"he's long range, I'm mid range. He has the advantage"
Repeat this for every 8/9 classes, sniper is totally fair and balanced

Learning to pick my fights, bail when it turns sour, and gets my hits in quick has been quite the journey and there are many more matches to test my mettle in, but it's a blast when things go well.
well Scout is a hard class to master, if you are not careful u are easy prey.
i disagree. i'd say that with scout, youre in charge of every fight even if its a class with double your health. you can easily force any enemy to play by your rules and kill them as scout because of scouts mobility. the only fight you should really be avoiding is a fully overhealed heavy.
Hello fellow halo fan
Try to main every class and not the only one.
What do you mean? Clearly the best decision in fighting a Heavy is to incessantly engage in close quarters combat

I mean, I love scout. He gives me so many kills from my sentry.
As a Medic, having to watch my back and juggle healing is fun, but having whole sections of the map cut off while I wait for our own Sniper to try and kill the one shutting it all down is honestly... boring.
I still prefer to face scout, even scunt than competent sniper, they're annoying and being insta killed from other site of the map feels unfair.
Honestly the only time it feels cheap dying to a scout is when they spam the guillotine down a choke or they catch you at low health anyways and one peppered shot picks you off. Otherwise, well shit man you earned it.
ngl, scout is actualy well balanced
*flashbacks of the old babyface days*
Not to mention that the character is perfectly tailored to the playstyle, and the voice lines will mercilessly needle your victims posthumously

@@derrinerrow4369 Yep true, I've seen this strat several times both with or without medic. The brighter the colors on the scout the angrier I get
You forgot to talk about the bfb and backscatter (which fair enough are regarded as the worst scatterguns but let’s be honest you can succeed with any scatter gun) the baby face makes the class that already is fast even faster with the caveat that he can’t double jump and the back scatter is just spy lite mode and also he’s very mobile with a good secondary and melee that aren’t relegated to last ditch effort weapons.

Ah yes sniper too does not need to aim and practice
Makes perfect sense
the difference is that sniper has plenty of counters, although not all of them apply to all snipers since it's loadout dependent.
the vaccinator, scorch shot, detonator, direct hit, demospam (both pills and stickies), wrengled sentries, scouts, good spies and other snipers all counter sniper in most cases and even heavy can hold his own unless its a really long range spot or sniper has the cosy camper.
what makes scout more annoying than sniper is that his only counters are sentry guns, other scouts and demoknights with enough heads to chase him down, with the later two still being a 50/50 shot on who wins that exchange and even the sentry only works when its in a spot where scout gets pushed into a corner the moment he walks in so he can't just run back out of the sentries line of sight.

A good scout is like a mosquito that will never go away and you can never hit.
Love the video and the ultrakill music in the bg
In my opinion sniper is far more infuriating to deal with. Scout needs to get close to you since his mid-long range capabilities are pretty bad. Sniper however can oneshot you from anywhere on the map and you can't really do anything about it other than just not being in his sightline. But even when you get close to him he can still oneshot you with either a quickscope (which happens more times than you might think), a jarate+bushwacka combo or just a random crit with any other melee.

And eventually you're just giving it up, not giving a crap about scout, not scout, whatever kills you, you don't care anymore... or do you?
or just switch to gunslinger engie
There is one problem as scout. Since you are fast and can dodge bullets and stuff, you are fast so most of the time you might miss. I have this problem. Without proper training that will happen. It mostly happens to new players or players like me who are decent, but not good at the game and have only been playing tf2 for 3 years.

Scout is also pretty much immune to spies
As long as he moves constantly, social distances from his teammates and spies, doesn’t leave his back to a wall he hasn’t looked at and just move forward and back constantly shooting at someone, letting me.. I mean a potential spy backstab them
How’s it going
I wouldn't say scout has many hard counters, but he dosent have many classes that he hard counters himself.
Fitting how you have music from a game you move real fast in (Ultrakill) playing in the background while talking about Scout.
Easily the most underrated Tf2 youtuber
I hate fighting Scout because he's so fast you can't get away from him it doesn't matter how hard you try you can't get away from a scout and that's just annoying how he's allowed to pick while you're not
That alliteration with the S was amazing
Love the description that you gave for the fan of war but I feel like the same thing could be said about the baby faces blaster.
The production value on this is insane, and what is that I see? Only 38k subs? Blasphemy
Your getting better at sfm keep up the good work even if its hell lol
I just hate how scout excells at being insanely persistent when he hits you once like a shark smelling a drop of blood.
I had no idea that the Boston basher could give you an extra “jump”. Very neat game trick
I hate it that his gun doesn't sound powerful enough. It doesn't properly communicate the strength of the weapon and I often die when it doesn't feel nor sound like I should have.
missed opportunity to make Scout's laugh fade into a reverb echo of a source crash audio bug of the laugh
The alliteration at the beginning is so unnecessary i love it
Scout doesn't deserve hate at all, he's the only class that has hard counter, Engy, literally not even close to op class outside of 5 control point gamemode
This doesnt happen often but scouts with a pocket medic are a thing and if the scout knows how to do the point and click adventure
I’ll be honest, I had a lot of trouble watching this with the stuttering in your gameplay. But the actual talking part is fantastic great vid!
The most effective offensive class in the game, when used correctly.
Don't even play TF2 but this was a really interesting watch! Also, love the Versus music ya put in there :P
that sniper scope is so advanced it can move freely and you can still see through it
I appreciate that intro, a very respectable use of words that start with the letter S
i legit jumped up and started dancing when i heard v2's boss theme from ultrakill in the background
Unlike some people I admit that I’m bad at something.
But I swear upon my life if I want to be good at that something I will do everything in my power to get good at it, if I have the time of course.
Love the Scout loadout. That is my favorite effect on the hat.
