@TregsTravels GPS is supposed to have a kit pretty soon for it. Yeah, gets sketchy when the brake ain't doing it. Do you get any kind of engine braking from the torque converter, or does it just freewheel like with the clutch? I've still gotta clutch on mine.

Its not the governor you feel at top end. Its the valve float if you did the zip tie right. 18lb valve springs will open up more rpm. Your ready for it with your flywheel already installed. Id call those stage 1 or 1.5 with the flywheel and stock camshaft, rod, valves, head, stock size carb etc.

Nice. But the early belt shifts would drive me crazy. The sweet setup for off road Coleman 200's with a torque converter is a 60 tooth sprocket and a yellow spring for the driven in the tightest hole.
@@TregsTravels Welcome. The idea is to get higher RPM to take advantage of the power mods we add to these engines. The new Coleman is too low, long and heavy. The BT200X has a nice open design which makes working on them a breeze. Good point with the ground clearance.
My first bike is the bt200x and I got a megamoto 212 to be more of a workhorse and loaner bike while I build up the bt200x. The bt200x just handles and rides so much more confidently than the megamoto.
@TregsTravels I've been through all the new big tire bikes including the Trailmaster. I made up my mind that if you need anything more than a bt200x, one should probably get a dirtbike.
@quadriderkyle the mm212 has great brakes and a good neck but it comes at too many expenses elsewhere. Where the BT200X comes up short in brakes it makes up for in simplicity and ergonomics.
@@fatbuddycat I was actually hoping to steal the front brake from the mm212 for my bt200x, but there is no way to make it work without cutting the necks off of both frames, which I considered briefly.
Did you have to remove the emissions box to get the torque converter to fit? Also, did you use the same bolts that came with the torque converter kit? Thanks
Yes on the predator 224cc you have to remove the emissions box, basically just cut the wires and remove it. You need different bolts for the predator because it is standard sizing instead of metric. You need 5/16-24 to mount everything for the TC. OMBwarehouse sales a predator TC mounting bolt set if that's easier!
I wasn't too worried about top speed. I mainly trail ride and these things are perfect for that! I actually just put a nibbi carb on there so I bypassed the governor completely
Torque converter, non-epa carb, billet flywheel, exhaust, governor bypass 👍 not too bad to get to 45mph! I'm going to do a build series on my brother's bikes so stay tuned!
No they're not street legal...in Utah and Idaho I have to have them registered as OHV (off-highway vehicles) to be able to ride trails. I can ride them on county roads too just not in town.
It was definitely a pain! I had to write coleman and show proof of purchase then they sent me the title. Then I had to take the title and the sales receipt to the DMV to get it registered as an OHV. I would reach out to coleman here: www.colemanpowersportsusa.com/contact and ask them to send you the title@@Jdp417
Dang! Was that on the 196cc? Do you know what's broken or is it all the internals...you can try to replace what's damaged or just pick up a predator motor. The 212 ghost is already setup for higher RPM's
The 200u is a great bike! You can purchase the front forks with suspension...that would be the best upgrade you could start with to smooth out your ride! Then start with a torque converter for the motor and building that out 👍

Have you watched this video? This is exactly how I did it...let me know if you still have questions and I can film a short video 👍 th-cam.com/video/AF8xyU7yPUk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eX_em5_S-KfaYe97
Appreciate it
Out the box they go 20? Mine went 38 first rip
Do you have one of the new ones with the torque converter? From the factory with the governor they advertise 20mph max speed
What gas bottle do you recommend for extra gas?
amzn.to/4asrG7U
A 750 ml bottle has been perfect for me, check out that link!
The new Coleman is too low, long and heavy. The BT200X has a nice open design which makes working on them a breeze. Good point with the ground clearance.
I completely agree! The BT200X is my favorite model by far, especially if you're going to be modding them!
@@TregsTravels perfect! Thanks so much🙏🏼
Curious as to why you didn't remove the governor when you replacer the flywheel on the stock 196?
I wasn't too worried about top speed. I mainly trail ride and these things are perfect for that! I actually just put a nibbi carb on there so I bypassed the governor completely
What is the set up on the 196 Colman? Love to make mine a 45 mph machine? thanks
Torque converter, non-epa carb, billet flywheel, exhaust, governor bypass 👍 not too bad to get to 45mph! I'm going to do a build series on my brother's bikes so stay tuned!
Registration? So do u have these able to be rode on streets?
No they're not street legal...in Utah and Idaho I have to have them registered as OHV (off-highway vehicles) to be able to ride trails. I can ride them on county roads too just not in town.
Oh that’s what I figured. There are people who have gotten there’s street legal.
I’m in Utah and I have the same bike, how did you go about registering it? I can’t seem to figure it out
It was definitely a pain! I had to write coleman and show proof of purchase then they sent me the title. Then I had to take the title and the sales receipt to the DMV to get it registered as an OHV. I would reach out to coleman here: www.colemanpowersportsusa.com/contact and ask them to send you the title@@Jdp417
How much you pay if you don’t mind me asking
Do you have a link for those tires?
Here's the tires! Looks like there's a 5% coupon on there today so make sure you apply that!
amzn.to/3Gh8kG4
Thanks!!!
What jetting are you running on your nibbi? I got a nibbi 22mm with for my 196cc.
I have the #35 pilot jet and the #102 main jet and it's running like a champ! I typically ride at 5000-7000 ft elevation.
Awesome video, and very helpful. Do you have a link for the helmet?
Thank you!! I couldn't find the Core brand helmet that I have but this one looks close! amzn.to/3MkQqWq
Close enough, thank you!
I blew up my engine after putting on the mods any tips?
Dang! Was that on the 196cc? Do you know what's broken or is it all the internals...you can try to replace what's damaged or just pick up a predator motor. The 212 ghost is already setup for higher RPM's
Any suggestions for the regular stock model, the 200U? Looking to upgrade it, or just sell it and get a different bike. Not sure which though
The 200u is a great bike! You can purchase the front forks with suspension...that would be the best upgrade you could start with to smooth out your ride! Then start with a torque converter for the motor and building that out 👍
@@TregsTravels awesome, thanks
I can’t find anywhere to buy that model of bike
I see them in stock from Walmart.com, try this!

You can register these to be road legal ?
You can if you add brake lights, horn, turn signals and a license plate...I just have them registered as OHV's but I'm supposed to carry that registration with me
@@TregsTravels I’m just interested in driving it to work 4 miles one way no highway but I couldn’t figure if it qualifies as a mop pad or motorcycle
Where do i even buy one of these
There's a few options on Amazon! amzn.to/3VxQYNz
Otherwise you can find them at camping world, tractor supply, CAL Ranch
How did you do the 2 zip tie cheat for gov.
I basically did it like this: th-cam.com/video/AF8xyU7yPUk/w-d-xo.html but I stuck 2 zip ties in there, each going a different direction and attached them to each other
Where can i get this helmet? thats amazing!!!!!😂 I threw a bell on mine and can help say i can get 70 miles to the gallon on thus hog. Need the helmet to complete the rest !
Hahah yes! I need to add a bell! I can't find the exact helmet I bought but here's the closest thing I could find: amzn.to/3xIPcAa
@@TregsTravels thanks for the helmet, the grips you bought only came as a single grip? So you had to buy a 7/8ths and 1 inch grip separately? Or did they come as a pack ?
@@ktownc936they came as a pack. It was a little tight getting it over the plastic throttle but I got it on there 👍
@@TregsTravels were they both 7/8ths?
I think they sell a 1 inch for the throttle.
So they were the same size, cheers for answering my annoying questions. I subscribed
What kind of knobby tires are they and sizes ?
They're 19x7x8. I got them on gopowersports but they're sold out there...this is the same tire on Amazon 👍🏼 amzn.to/3D7QfsF
@@TregsTravels thank u appreciated soo much
@@jtbassgambler2594 no problem! They're a beast of a tire!
my back kills me after an hour of hittin little bumps like my ribs are hitting themselfs on bumps need rear suspension
Yeah I've seen some guys add springs under the seat to help a little bit. Honestly, since I put the wider foot pegs on there I'm able to stand up a little bit over rough bumps and it's a lot more comfortable
1 turns into 2, so true
For awhile it turned into 4 haha...I'm back to 3 right now but there will be more lol
Only thing I would add is a swingarm and shock on the back.
That would be so cool! It would be a game changer riding on trails
Great video. What is the song at that you used at the end?
"The Colonel" by Zachariah Hickman 👍🏻
I bought the same style helmet for the same reason.
Everyone that sees it recognizes right away lol
I slapped a 6.5 hp Briggs and Stratton vanguard engine on mine and I was able to top out at 55 mph stock it’s a lot smoother and quieter
I was thinking about putting one of those on the orange bike! I like that idea a lot. Thank you for sharing!
@@TregsTravels I love it but I don’t have a channel to share if you do please make a video man also in that van guard engine I use 5w30 Briggs and Stratton synthetic engine oil and it does help with longevity
Mount a ammo bot to the front and put the ryobi battery and light in it
I've got lights and a battery to mount! That's my winter project 👍🏻
Yo you should buy a straight pipe for it
My buddy has one and it sounds amazing! My neighbors would love me 😂
I bet it would be stupid easy to use the milk crate as a mounting point for rotopax fuel/water cans. ADV Minibike 😂
That's a great idea! I'm gonna do that on my next build!
Top speed is great if you're racing. But, If you're riding off-road or even in traffic, acceleration is way more fun.
I agree 100%! I'm really happy where I'm at with these, they're a blast
Imagine if the black & red bike didn't have the exhaust exit right by the air intake.
Heard Coleman went bankrupt. Having a hard time finding parts.
Oh man I hadn't heard that...I'll have to look into it!
After market parts for colemans have been used for years. Coming out of China mostly. I don't think them going bankrupt would have bothered the part market?
It's my golf cart for getting around my property. I leave mine stock and believe in grease so been with me years. Want a better and smoother take off? use some oil in centrifugal clutch. will slip at first but you will see ( you will like) and again been doing this for years. I run the crap out it almost every day. I don't put a basket on back so when riding hard for fun I can separate in a wipeout lol. I have basket on the front where headlight was. By the way I am 200 LBS. Yea I'm a fatass with chicken legs. I have replaced the jackshaft sprocket because even oil couldn't save that cheap made thing and upgraded. nothing special. OIL and GREASE! the wheel bearings etc doesn't come with a good grease packing so make sure you get grease in those . Get grease in all bearings. The plastic cover over the bearings pops out and back in easily. Mine is the CT200 and wrecked many times. Its tough. The muffler sticking out would end up being ripped off mine so again stayed stock.
That's awesome! Thanks for the tips, I will definitely grease em up! Sounds like yours is holding up well!
I got mine CT200U-EX for $150 after a 260lb fat kid broke the frame
😂 that's a steal! Hopefully it was a simple weld!
Can I have free? ❤❤❤
I wish I could give them out to everyone!!
@@TregsTravels 🥺🥺😍😍
Sportsmans warehouse here in Oregon sells them i want the camo one id like to tune one up to get more speed! I want to buy the bike for a scout tool when i camp in the woods to explore sling my rifle hand gun pilot goggles then go!
That's awesome! That's exactly what we do with these. They're tanks!
