Learned a great tip from a Chinese cook's youtube channel. She mixes her eggs, soy sauce and a bit of oyster sauce into her rice instead of scrambling the eggs separately. Then she stir fries the rice with all that added. It is wet at first, but firms up after a bit of heat. Delicious!
That's super interesting Nancy I've never heard of that thanks for sharing. I'm going to give it a try next time because it totally makes sense. I appreciate you watching.
Haha.. "I had 3 beers to stay hydrated". Lol I love how real you are. Also love that you admit to your mistakes. Honestly goes a long way, makes things real.
Thanks Shane I'm glad you like it. Ya I feel like I have to show the mistakes, it's the only way for me and everyone else to learn, I'm glad you appreciate that. Thanks for watching.
Wish I had bought the 36" Blackstone instead of the 28". 4 burners vs 3. I've had it about 5yrs. Maybe I need to upgrade!. Great meal. Videos are useful
Thanks Tony! Ya I always tell people that if they get a bigger one they'll use it for sure. You can always find something to put down. I appreciate you watching.
I love that you keep pointing out your happy little accidents. Of course you're constantly learning and adjusting, but we can't learn from it if you don't point it out, and that's what I'm here for, to learn to be a better cook on the griddle(I don't have one yet😬), not the money shot at the end or to watch YOU cook a $500 steak. Thanks again.
Thank you so much Robert I really appreciate it. That's my exact goal is to help people learn to make real food for there friends and families on the griddle. So it really means a lot for me to see you say that. Once you get your griddle I'm sure you'll be ready to go. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@JohnnyBrunet I really appreciated you're vid on how to pick a griddle, I think that's how I found you, I was looking for opinions on side vs back grease trap, though you didn't have much to say on that you definitely tipped my scale toward CampChef. I'm kinda waiting till I build my deck and $$$$.
@@robertm4347 that's totally understandable they are not cheap. Ya the grease trap doesn't really do much for me in the back vs. the front. I don't think either one is better I feel like it's exactly the same. I'm definitely happy with my camp chef but Blackstone are nice too. I'm sure I would make just as good food with a Blackstone.
Hey Bryson that's awesome! Congratulations on the new griddle I hope you love it as much as me and my family love ours. If you haven't watched my mistakes video yet I would recommend that before you start. The main two things are 1. Get an infrared thermometer gun 2. It cooks hot so start on low Keep on griddln' brother
Johnny : I made fried rice last month in July , I made a lot of it , turns out my grandson does not like shrimp so I ate fried rice for lunch and dinner for close to a week. My grandson lives with me. Next time it will be chicken fried rice. THANK you Frank from montana...
Ya I remember it when I was young I wasn't a fan of seafood. I bet he'll come around eventually and see how good Grandpa's griddle shrimp really is. Can't go wrong with chicken though, especially with some teriyaki. That's my favorite. Thanks for always watching and Commenting Frank!
Would using my steamer dome to cover the rice while cooking also be an option before or after combining the shrimp or chicken to keep it from getting too dry? Looking good brother.
Thanks so much Patrick I'm glad you like the videos. This one is definitely a must try for griddle owners. Very good and very easy to customize it to your liking.
Isn't it a good thing that the vegetables thawed? My understanding is that putting frozen food on a hot griddle is one of the things that can cause them to warp.
Hey Robert, it's not necessarly a bad thing. And you can put frozen food on a hot griddle I guess it just depends how much. From my experience when mine warped I put a 5 lb log of partially frozen ground beef on my hot griddle. I think that was too much cold food. However I've also thrown some frozen veggies and frozen burgers on there with now problem. So I'm not too sure but I try not to make it a habit to throw frozen food on there too often. Thanks for watching.
Awesome video! We've been waiting for this one. Just did Chicken Pad Tai this weekend, it came out great. Definitely a learning curve there too. Keep um coming buddy!
Ohh chicken pad Thai sounds delicious! I'm definitely going to give that one a try, did you make the sauce or use a premade out of a bottle? I don't know if I got the skills to do a sauce from scratch. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Thanks Larry I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully the recipe and video are helpful. Definitely some things to learn from my mistakes but overall I think it's a good basic recipe. Have a good one and keep on griddln'
Hahaha awesome Chad I bet yours turned out great! I actually am making Steak and Potatoes this week! But I'm just filming it, after editing and what not it won't be released for a few weeks. Thanks for watching man.
Great Griddlers make similar mistakes! LOLI made hashbrowns today and did not put enough oil so they stuck a bit but I managed to salvage them. Your shrimp and steak fried rice looks awesome, I need to make that soon.
Ya it happens to all of us Guy. I feel like you can never have too much oil but sometimes I still go to light. I'm sure your hash browns were still some good eats. Have a good week buddy.
Always enjoy your videos. I find cooking the egg toward the end keeps it from overcooking. I usually cook the meat first on hot (400+) till it’s got a good sear, then move it over on low while I put down the rice and veggies to cook. Then mix the meat back in and combine everything and crisp up the rice while meat finishes cooking.
Thanks Mr Eric I'm going to try it that way next. I have no idea why I always do the eggs first, it's completely not necessary but it's just habit. I think it's from doing it inside where I use one pan and do eggs then hold them on the side. Anyways I definitely think there so.e tweaking that needs to be done to my order. I appreciate you sharing your method. Have a good one buddy.
Hey Jackie, you can use whatever your comfortable with. I use canola most of the time except when I fry stuff. Then I use peanut oil for frying. I think my favorite fried rice however is the one where I used all butter. Definitely be give that a try. It was delicious.
@@JohnnyBrunet ok thank you. I might purchase one of these soon and was wondering. I did a google search to see what Habachi chefs used and supposedly many use a combination of ingredients . I’d prefer to just use one oil!
The best way to cook the steak or chicken hibachi style is do not cut the meat first. Sear the meat then cut your meat. That way you don't lose all the juice plus it looks better.
😂😂😂😂 only 3 during the cooking process. Obviously more were needed to wash down the steak and shrimp. Griddln' is a hard job but someone has to do it 😁
