What a miracle. I am in Northern Minnesota, USA, at my wilderness nature retreat, seven miles south of Canada. I am the only person here on the lake. I am listening to wisdom from Ajahn Brahm in Perth, Australia. What a great miracle. I am humbled by Ajahn Brahm wisdom. Thank you.

I was diagnosed with cancer 10 months ago ! Diffused Large B Cell Lymphoma aggressive. It was then that I discovered the meaning of my life. For six months, I had a team of doctors, nurses and support personnel working hard to make me better. They were extraordinary. Even though I had given up, they didn’t !! Paradoxically, the last 10 months have been terrific ! The extreme pain, the chemotherapy treatments, the crying, and being poked daily constantly with needles … life had meaning now. It was to survive and not give up!

Human doings seek money, sex, power, fame, and dominion over the world with power by hanging on. Human beings seek true feelings, true love, true compassion, and true selflessness by letting go. Ajahn Brahm is a supreme human being. Thank you for your wisdom Ajahn Brahmavamso. Human doings exist. Human beings do not exist. Matter exists. Energy does not exist. Energy FLOWS. We need so little to be a great human being. Human beings need clean air, clean water, whole food, safe sleep, real local friends, and mind control. Of all these free things we need, mind control is the most difficult to achieve. Practice mind control. Thank you Ajahn Brahm for teaching us mind control, the one thing human beings need the most.

AB has such a positive nature. I don’t think anyone can match it. I’m learning to be like him.

One of the simplest teachings I came across many years ago was this. So, a baby is born and we celebrate this event. But the baby is crying as if to say, "Oh, no, not back here again!" The person gets ill and dies. We break down and weep and are sorrowful, tears in the eyes. The dead person beyond the grave, smiling: "Ah freedom at last!

Aside from my body going to pieces, old age (I’m 66) isn’t bad. Yes, even with my cancer - (DLBCL) I’m good. I feel fatigued most of the time; and even though I only have 15% of my strength left and the medical bills continue to pile up, life is still good.

Why do we tremendous dislike seeing the people we love suffer? While those that we don’t know, would hardly move us to tears.

Listening to AB again after several years I laughed my head off this time. I’m wondering why. I suppose I needed a good laugh after 6 months of chemotherapy .

Ajahn .... your accreditation in Mindfulness and meditation and all of that is in the many many videos you’ve made, the books written and the millions of viewers around the world. No “intelligent” human being would deny you if you were to disrobe and seek employment.

What’s my “ weak point? “ …. my leverage point. What’s my sister’s weak point ? what’s my brother’s weak point? How does one find another’s weak point? What constitutes a weak point?
