ABOUT SPEAKER
Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera (lovingly known to most as Ajahn Brahm) was born Peter Betts in London, United Kingdom in August 7, 1951. He came from a working-class background, and won a scholarship to study Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University in the late 1960s.
After graduating from Cambridge he taught in high school for one year before travelling to Thailand to become a monk and train with the Venerable Ajahn Chah Bodhinyana Mahathera.
Whilst still in his years as a junior monk, he was asked to undertake the compilation of an English-language guide to the Buddhist monastic code - the Vinaya - which later became the basis for monastic discipline in many Theravadan monasteries in Western countries

While registered as a Buddhist not-for-profit association, Buddhist Society of Victoria (BSV) welcome members of all backgrounds and religions.
Located in Melbourne, our East Malvern centre hosts programs that guide members on meditation; as well as practical Buddhist teachings for kids, teenagers, and adults.

I laughed that my belly could burst
I was sick with hydrocephalus as a kid on and off for years. Mom used to ask me 'how's your head' and look at me all worried and I used to hate that!!!
Parents worry about their children because they love them and want them to be well and happy. It's annoying, even to me now when my mom fusses over me , but I've come to appreciate that I'm loved and leave it at that.
What was the name of that delicious coffee-milk concoction?? I gotta have some of it!

I'm not comfident enough say it all.
He is very funny and a great speaker for sure. No wonder the man offered him the job as a comedian. But for a Buddhist talk, I don't feel like I got much out of it other than just having an evening of fun and laughter. And I find some of his jokes not very buddhist, alluding to stereotypes, eg. The joke about not marrying a beautiful girl but an ugly girl. I wonder if I am being too serious because nobody seems to mention this in the comments

Greetings from the future, where, as an American, I can say conclusively that laughing at COVID has not made it go away. I’m trying desperately not to dismiss this dude out of hand for his terrible take on disease.
