best part of the vid was the music - When I heard Mr. Bungle the deal was sealed. This guy and a badass stone worker AND his choice in music was great. ST in there... Beastie boys, bungle. Nice man!
You've got different chisels for different applications. You should also have different hammers. You will be surprised on the ease of cutting different ways.

Gotta use feathers & wedges you won't have saw so much or flip the slab plus you won't have a dawn surface to try and rock pitch away the drill marks disappear with only about a 1" rock pitch, a corner like that can be made in about 30 mins start to finish

I have used www.stonetoolshop.co.uk/ for Lewis Pins (no one makes them in North America), they seem to carry a good selection of chisels and hammers too. I'd look there to start. When I ordered the Lewis Pins I had them 3 days later all the way to Canada, so I'd think you would get pretty fast shipping there too.
Seems like the pitch of your chisel is a little steep, try bringing it a little more vertical to get a flatter face on your stone (i know granite is a bit of a bitch, building a fireplace right now out of muskoka hue)

Got to hand it to you Greg...if there is a hard way to work stone then you will surely find it,this was painful to watch,for an old stonecarver like me.Trial and error is no way to prosper believe me,but 100% for effort to you mate.
why flip it ....just cut the edge downto the bottom....both sides and it shoul split fine with wedges........i found watching that tyre mound go ker-splat.... just felt like a co-worker too much.........im still in shock.
