    In the same show for Willie Nelson where Seven Spanish Angels was performed Alison has a solo on "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground". It's so moving that the woman (wife?) sitting with Willie appears to really affected by the piece. Check it out.

    Just heard the original a few months ago. Never heard this before. Really like both. You were looking for the word "sirens". They sang to sailors to make them crash on the rocks.

    This song always makes me cry. I can relate to the woman in this so much. No one will ever know the number of days I feel I can't go on without the man who so completed me with his love. If I could've I'd have gone with him that Sunday. And I have very few days that I do not wonder how I am still breathing without him much less anything else. I know this life is a gift and I have a grandson who I have to keep moving forward for. It just never stops being hard. It hits me each day when I least expect it. I will never love or be loved like that again.

      @Teresia Diane Yeah, that's brutal, but you're still feeling things so you clearly haven't given up on the human experience. Carly Simon's song "Haven't Got Time For The Pain" has the lyrics, "Suffering was the only thing that made me feel I was alive. But that's just how much it costs, to survive, in this world." Sometimes those lyrics ring all too true. She performed it about ten years ago at Grand Central Station in NYC, and she sounded great. Here's the link if you're interested---keep the faith!! th-cam.com/video/M4HLHuS3hkw/w-d-xo.html

      Such beautiful and painful words... your last sentence gave me goosebumps. I am truly sorry for your constant suffering. To lose something so pure when so many others are willing to just settle...must be tortuous. All I can offer is that I'll keep you in my prayers.

    I love this video, thank you for the reaction! Allison Krauss is the most Grammy-awarded, female vocalist ever for a reason.. she's simply amazing! And even though Jamey is a fairly young dude, he's already a walking legend in my book. He's been my favorite singer/songwriter since he released the Lonesome Song album. Also, I would love to see a reaction to something from Jamey's album The Guitar Song. "my way to you" "heartache" and "can't cash my checks" are all songs I think you would enjoy :) thanks!

    Jamey and Allison, two of the best voices on the planet! Just loved this version...never heard it before but I personally think its beats the original. Great score, but why not a 10? As mortals, there is only so close we can get to perfection. The last line of the song was cut out by the producer for brevity's sake, "Now the people in the valley swear/ That when the moon's just right/ They see the Texan and his woman/ Ride across the clouds at night".

    • @RockN2Country
      @RockN2Country  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @David Emswiler I've gotta leave some room for the unimaginable song-performance combo to come along, so I hold back. I think I gave Red Sovine's "Teddy Bear" a 9.8, so that's the highest. But a 9.5 is almost flawless, and since I leave room for the unknown to happen, I'm leaving a couple of tenths on the table.

Been a fan since "When you say Nothing at all". Anyway, she has a great song with James Taylor "How's the World Treating you. Great duet. I think they sing EVERY line in harmony...they don't trade off lines like most duets. Pure vocal awesomeness! Great song to check out even if you never rate/review.

    Classic! Classic! Classic!! 🥰
    Of course, Willie and Ray version is in a class all of its own... However, I've got to say, this has been the only remake that, in my opinion, could stand with the original. Lyrics and Tempo are the same, but Ray and Willie's version just has a completely different feel to it. Both versions are beautiful, no doubt!

    Check out Alison’s performance of When You Say Nothing At All, live at the White House. The woman is beyond a generationally rare talent. She’s a once in several hundred years talent. I recommend that particular performance because it’s live, plus she is in a room with the most powerful people on Earth and you can see the awe in their eyes as they’re watching her.

    Sirens is the mythical creature your looking for. Which attacked Odysseus’s ships on his voyage home. The interesting point here is the movie “O’ Brother where art Thou?” is based on this book. The part where George Clooney is attacked by the sirens and they turn that fellow in to a horned toad, in the back ground is the song “go to sleep little baby” by Emmy Lou Harris, Allison Krauss, and Gillian Welch! Also great version of this song! You should check out Ian Noe! th-cam.com/video/BEVCCy145cs/w-d-xo.html
