I sang that to my girlfriend two weeks before she died of a brain cancer. For a short while it brought her out of a trance and she gave me a sweet smile.
May she sleep with the Angels now. Til we all meet again I hope you find peace with her memory. I pray she can be your guardian angel til you're with her again. Much love.
My husband is fading before my eyes. He is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s. Keep your loved ones close and thank the good Lord above if you are lucky enough to grow old together.
I’m caring for someone with the late stages of Alzheimer’s and I see her declining rapidly. I don’t know how much longer she will be here. In a lucid moment she gave her life to Jesus.
I watched my mom slowly loose her fight with it too. I know your pain all too well. Just keep your memories together and he will always be a part of you.
Playing this now for mom as I hod her hand. She's fading before our eyes. She's a good Christian woman that prayed for me to know Jesus. Her ❤prayers came true 19 years ago when I was baptized
My mom passed 2 days after I posted my comment. She's sleeping in Jesus now waiting for Him to call her home. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says He will raise the dead in Christ 1st
My mom just passed away 3 days ago from Alzheimer's. This song is such a comfort to me, but I know she is whole again and with our Heavenly Father and all our loved ones. I can't wait to see her again one day.❤
My son, my only child passed on 10/29/22 at 25 yrs old. I came home and found him unresponsive and Police and EMT's said he has passed. My heart scattered into pieces, both my heart and soul went with my son that day. I had to wait to be able to go back in the house and told my son as he laid in the body bag that I loved him and to look up to the light and go to Jesus. I said that to him 3 times and the coroner wanted to take my son and that's the last time I saw him. My son was so talented he played and wrote his own music and songs. He played the piano, guitar, keyboard and percussion on the soundboard. I still have all his stuff and may try to get it published once I'm up to it. But listening to this song reminds me so much of my son. He did struggle with depression but he volunteered and advocated for the homeless, he donated his time, money and heart to different outreaches up here. He helped at the soup kitchen and planted a community garden. He volunteered at the BARN in Brewer/Bangor. He put his heart into his work, volunteering, music, writings and lyrics. He was a kind Soul with a generous, compassionate heart. He was a bright light in this world but now his light has been dimmed. I'll LOVE and miss you forever my son, Robert, Forever 25, Love Mom

I lost my beautiful baby sister in 1998. She suffered from mental illness. She was only 26 . She loved her savior so much. She took her own life. People tried to tell us she would go to hell because she committed suicide. They are completely wrong about that. Her gravestone reads " I'll meet you in heaven"
I had a son who committed suicide... Never saw it coming, and I'm a licensed psychiatric worker, since 1975.. Sometimes you can never tell. A person who commits suicide is sick, whether we see it or not. I don't think God condemns anyone for being sick. I know my son is forgiven, healed, and in the arms of a loving God! Be comforted🙏🙏🙏
In 2017, I was diagnosed w/ stage-4 endom. cancer, that spread to my liver. After surgery, 6 chemos, 5 radiations, and Keytruda infusions until 2020, I became a survivor! You can, too. My chest port was removed in May, 2021. I had a 13%-survival rate, and I'm still no evidence of disease. Hope you're okay❣️❤️❤️🩹
My dad just passed away from Dementia about 5 days ago. He loved this song and though he couldn't carry a tune he always sang it. Never understood how Vince could possibly sing this without breaking down in tears.
I’m so sorry! I’m caring for someone who is in the late stages. I don’t know how much longer she will be with us. In a brief moment she was lucid and gave her life to Jesus
My son passed away 25 days ago. He loved the outdoors and spent many days hiking, riding his motorcycle, and kayaking his way through this beautiful earth. He was supposed to do the Half Dome climb this past summer but could not due to the wildfire. One day, his father and I will do that for him and release some of his ashes into the wind at the top.
My best friend died last year, we "planned" 1 more elk hunt in the high Eagle Cap mountains, sadly he didn't live long enough to make that trip. After his ashes and me make that trip, I will lay them to rest. May all our friends and family rest in peace.
yep, 64 here, and i know every time i listen I am gonna cry, but I do it anyway. I think I want this at my funeral...hope they listen to my wishes... rocker here, not metal but whatever, your thoughts make me think.
@@ronnietoots6797 Beautiful song. Put your wish for this song in writing. Your loved ones will make sure it will be done. You have many years ahead of you yet. When it's your time "Go to Heaven a shoutin' love to the Father and the Son." Blessings to you, ronnie.
Praise the Lord 🙌. I was just crying about my oldest brothers passing this morning. He passed almost 2 years ago. I miss him terribly. But he is Soo much better off. He was a Disabled Veteran... Navy. I took care of him. This song is beautiful and was done perfectly. 🙌🙏🇺🇲❣️
Hello Pamela, How are you doing? Your comments caught my attention and that is why I am reaching out to you. I'm sure he is in a better place smiling down at you wanting you to be happy. It's nice meeting you here🌹
Thank you Mr. Gill, for I have buried my earthly dad, both brothers, my only sister, all grandparents and more friends from the Marines than I could count. The Lord Jesus Christ has always been with me. He has never forsaken me and He never will! God bless you and your family always! Amen
That’s rough - I’ve just said good by to mom mom 🥺. My dad and oldest son years ago . My best friend in 2017 :( I played the song at my moms funeral on Saturday. I’m so tired of saying goodbye to people that I love. I’m so depressed and it’s just going to be more than I can bare :(
May God be with you always and thank you for all of your sacrifices. I feel Him present often when these three perform. Allison has the record for making me cry lol. Only good people doing God's work and children do that to me.
@@Lisa-zs2iy I know it's rough and you don't know how you will make it. Lean on our wonderful Savior the Lord Jesus Christ When you can't move forward He will carry you. I will lift you up in prayer. Sorry for you loss. Stay strong.
Lost my brother we inlisted the same day in 1971 brought us pain and sorrow pain like no other hell on earth hes gone to rest im still hurtin life gos on lo😊ve ya bro miss you
For anyone that is thinking Vince Gill is just another successful singer, he responded to me personally about a personal matter of mutual interest. We chatted as if we had known each other forever.
I lost my oldest son to a heart defect. He was 25. I lost my wife 12 years later. I cannot listen to this without remembering them with love & kindness. What a beautiful ballad! Thank you.
We played this song at my brothers funeral. He died young and had a troubled heart. This is how we feel. He was a musician and played in a band. He played lead guitar and sang like an angel. We miss him everyday. Now he’s singing with the angels in heaven
Absolutely beautiful. This song was played at three of my brothers funerals. Yes, it brought tears but joy too as I thought about my brothers finding peace in the afterlife with our Lord. ❤❤❤❤
I sang this song at father's funeral after his battle with cancer. The lyrics were such a comfort to me and still are. Thank you, Vince Gill for writing a song that touches so many.
There was a time when country really brought comfort and healing to so many people... far more than just a comedy or play on hillbilly personas, a real serious music that touched people. These artists are that period.
Late to the comment section here, but I feel you. Eric Church gives me hope. She Loves Me Like Jesus Does, Kill a Word, Put That in Your Country Song...
My wife passed 3 weeks ago. Right to the end she found peace in this video. I don't guess the stars read these things but I pray they know the peace and strength they share with folks. Thank you and God bless.
This song was played at my father's funeral. He was just 45 when he passed from Lou Gerigs disease. He fought hard, attended my high school graduation in a wheelchair on a ventilator and made it to my sophomore year at auburn university in alabama. It's so true, he was legally blind and earned 2 bachelor degrees from the university of Alabama in Birmingham, and worked past time that he should have stopped, but most of all, he was an awesome dad..sometimes those that can't see so good, see the best, and love the best. I'm memory of my father. he's jumping and shouting in heaven. Praise God! I'm blessed
God Bless Your Dad he was a great man. You were blessed to have him in your life! I know you miss your Dad but I hope and pray you are living a Godly Life in honor of your Dad. I hope you are happy with your life. God Bless You too.
I lost my 44 year old son last month. I know your sadness. To me, his death was senseless but I guess God had other ideas. Go rest high my dear son, til we meet again.
Lost my best friend today from Covid-19. He fought like hell to beat it but after four hard weeks he could hold on no more. I've always found my heart in Vince's music even when it was hard as stone. Vince, Ricky and Alison are my favorites. Thank you Lord for giving them to this wretched world so that we can see your light and know you have not forgotten us. I'm not sure I can cry anymore but I know I will.
I want to tell you that ETERNITY is real and our loved ones live on in heaven!!! A testimony for that is a story about a mother who lost her child and had an amazing near-death-experience together with the child. It's in an interview of Pegi Robinson who presents Alba Monn! Thank you Vince for this song, I listened to it everyday when my daughter died. Who I know sings with the heavenly choir. Your song and wonderful words touched my heart, and still do! Blessings
I lost my Dad back in May, mu best friend and man words cant describe how much i miss him. This was his song that he played at his mother's funeral in 1995 after she was murdered. He never overcame that loss. I stuck by his side through all the hell he put himself through beating himself up over something he couldn't control. Im almost 34 now. Im so sorry for your loss and nothing i can say will make anything better, believe me i know. Try to stay strong and keep your head up. May they rest in Heaven, your Father and mine.
It’s a tough call man, I think Steve Wariner, Colin Ray, and John Berry are really good male singers, I’m not saying you’re wrong, I don’t even have an opinion of who is actually THE best but the ones I named are the ones that I think are among the best out there.
Him and Garth need to do some harmonies together! They both make me proud to be an Okie! Love my Alison!! I still think she’s an Angel on Earth! 💗 Stupid Covid. I threw a fit w/ her show being canceled in OKC due to quarantine. Uuggghhhhhhhhh
I'm Canadian. I don't have much experience of the depths of what country music means to those who make it their music of choice. But I can tell you this song reaches into the depths of expression and emotion that words can barely describe. This talented group of musicians have done that. Thank-you Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Ricky Skaggs for this timeless hymn that speaks so beautifully to grief and loss.
I'm not quite sure what being Canadian had to do with having difficulty understanding some American peoples depth of feeling for country music. I too am Canadian, LOVE the Stones, Zeppelin, Clash et al (and of course the Hip ;) ) but i cry when i hear this. Between the heartfelt lyrics and Vince Gill's stunning voice - the finest male singer in all of country music imo, the sentiments expressed are nothing if not universal. They transcend cultural boundaries and genres like they're crossing a 3 foot wide fishin' stream. I of course puke when i hear jingoistic GARBAGE like Toby Keith and Hank jr (his father must be SO disappointed) but give me REAL country like Willie, Waylon, Johnny and Kris, and then the younger breed like Steve Earle, Dwight and Vince amongst others and i could be from the moon and it would still touch my heart. Good music is good music - period. And, oddly, one of my favorite 'country' performers are... Ready for this...? The Rolling Stones! 5 old English who could give a phd class in American country music to 95% percent of these god-awful new pop country wet blankets!
And Red Dog Video please forgive me if i came off a little rude and didactic. I truly didn't mean to. I do really like the latter part of your post about Vince, Allison and Ricky and am completely in agreement with you. Long live 'thoughtful' country - also know as OUTLAW!
Sung by professionals - Alison and Ricky sing soft enough with their harmony so that you can still hear Vince singing the melody clearly. A perfect song sung perfectly. ❤️
When I buried my dad, I told him to rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done. He worked so hard all his life raising his family and never once complained.
This song was played at my uncle’s funeral back in 2011. He was a retired war veteran, died at the young age of only 43. Joined the Army right out of High School. Fought in a few big wars. He was injured in his chest while at war, so they put a pacemaker in his chest, and years later, somehow, he had a heart attack. That’s what he died from. It’s really hard to hear this song without crying, like, I just wanna bawl at the moment. He died a hero though, and I find solace in the fact that he is no longer in pain. Thank you to every veteran who has fought for the freedom of this country. If you’re a veteran and you’re reading this, thank you for your service.
Nicholas Smith my three brothers joined the military. 2 served in Vietnam. They came back wounded in spirit and both died, one by suicide and the other was murdered beside a highway after being discharged from a mental hospital
My cousin was killed by a falling tree in grinders switch Tennessee many years ago. We furies him on a mountainside while his family played this song and it was the most moving scene I’ve ever witnessed. Thank you Vince Gill for your wonderful song.
I had a beautiful young lady sing this song to my husband as he lie in a coma minutes from his death. It was such a beautiful song that I had never heard before that day. It was apparent that it calmed my dying husband and eased him to pass away peacefully within 30 minutes of having this song sung to him. I watched him take his last breaths shortly after this song was sung to him. I will always think of him when I hear this amazing song. It fit his life... so many worries, so much pain. but now he is whole at least and the MS that hurt him and left him bed fast at only 45 can no longer hurt him... I Love you my dear DD.. You will always hold a piece of my heart.. I will carry your memory and love with me always... RIP dear one... Go rest high on that mountain.. Your work here on earth is done...
Linda Downs, so sorry for your loss. I know the emotions also...my sisters had this song played at my father's funeral years ago. I had not heard it before, and it was very fitting and cherished by our entire family!
@Tara Lanzerotti, I agree, this is Awesome, a beautiful song, as well as a tribute. That being said, here's a thought that I have posted (now edited with additional thoughts) in reply to several comments similar to yours. I'll share it with you for future consideration. The wishes at the end are for you as well. Here goes... (edit: Although it is easier to first go to a negative thought when seeing a "thumb down") please consider that many who watch videos, or hear songs filled with emotional content, such as this one, are often watching, perhaps remembering through tear streaked eyes, their own fallen loved ones. On such emotional videos (edit: like this) there is a higher chance of mistakenly hitting the wrong icon and not catching the error. I myself have done so but usually catch the error. I now make it a practice to view the video again a few days later to make sure that if I mistakenly hit the down instead of the up I correct it. I also know that some folks will hit the down icon because the content is sad, not intending any disrespect. (edit: And, sadly, there are those who just cannot help themselves and feel the need to be hurtful or disrespectful regardless of the seriousness of the situation. For those people we must keep them in prayer that they will have their stone hearts and blind eyes opened.) Anyway, just my thoughts on the whole " 👍 /👎" possibilities. God Bless you and Keep you Safe in His Loving Embrace. Have an Awesome week ahead. Tara, I realize your comment is from a year ago, but I am just now seeing this particular performance coming from another audio only. All three of these performers are super talented and Bless us by sharing their talents. Again, Tara, God Bless you.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Ross. I lost my wife to ovarian cancer in August 2017, a month before our 38th wedding anniversary. Then in October 2019, I lost my fist born to the same demon. She was 38. Sitting here crying like a baby :(. I just realized that I posted this while on my daughter's youtube account. She was 'bilbopooh' - an extraordinarily talented writer whose two favorite characters were Bilbo Baggins and Winnie the Pooh. She has a youtube channel called 'Bilbopooh's ong Corner' with several songs she wrote and sang. We played "We Each Can Do A Little" at her funeral. It captures her spirit rather well. th-cam.com/video/ltUggaPJFqU/w-d-xo.html
My little brother also passed away about 6 years ago at age 52 of Cancer. I never got past it, but he did know Jesus Christ as his Personal Lord and Saviour. I asked him to dance around the Throne one time for me. As he laid on his death bed getting worse, a week before he died he woke up his wife in the middle of the night and told her, Kim, God came to me and said, i am healed but that i was going to be somewhere else. (One day we will all understand it better.) I sure miss him.
We buried our son yesterday, and it’s been a rough week. When it was time to pick songs for his service, this was the first one I thought of. The words fit our son perfectly, as though Vince wrote it about him. He was our only son, my boy and hearing this song brought a peacefulness over me, and I heard Vince say at the beginning how it has helped others. Thank you Vince for writing such a beautiful song in tribute to your brother. God bless you.

Our youngest daughter Angel was murdered by her ex fiancee on April 1st of this year. They had three beautiful children and she tried so hard to make their relationship work but in the end he killed Angel and then killed himself. My wife and I are raising her three children . Now she is a heavenly Angel. I always loved this song but now it has a very special meaning to me. I love and miss you baby.
He wrote it for his brother. I had it played at my little brothers memorial. May God rest his soul. I took my brother’s ashes on the back of his Harley Davidson and sent his ashes out into the wind. They swirled around and then came back to hit me right in the face. Yep, he’s still my little brother doing what little brothers do. Made me smile through my tears.

“They wouldn’t pass an extremely important law without Michael Edward being a part of it all. There’s still work to be done. SVU reform gender differentiation.”
I am not a religious man, but this is one of the most moving songs I have ever heard, sung so magnificently by these three gifted singers and musicians. Fantastic accompaniment on the piano, too.
Jesus wasn't ''religious'' either ,that's what killed it's a relationship you have to have with your creator ,and we [people] took something so beautiful and simple complicated it and messed it all up
Jesus wasn't religious? Really? What version of the Bible are you reading. In both Matthew and Mark, it is clear that he is a Jewish rabbi who promises to fulfill the Laws of the Prophets. It isn't until Luke, and especially John, that he got all warm and fuzzy.
The song my mom sang night before she passed even though she was battling lung ca, hoarse, on soup diet due to diminshed breathing capacity and her last hurrah. A spiritial, God fearing woman, the best mother. ❤
We lost our first child in 03 when she was 3 days old, we now have 4 with another on the way, I could not imagine loosing one at 27.... My prayers are with you both that mentioned loosing your children. A friend of mine shot himself and they played this at his funeral. He was a horrible devil worshiper, as was I then, when I hear this song I think of what this other girl said about trying to witness to him while he was dying, she had told him Jesus loves you and he squeezed her hand, I hope to God he was born again before he died...
Add me to the list. I only discovered this song recently. Listened to it about 60 times the past two days, one of which was my daughter's birthday... we lost her three years ago and it still weighs heavy. Thank you so much, Mr. Gill, for this beautiful prayer.
Lost my father 11/17/2022 and my mom 05/20/2023 I miss them dearly 😢 song makes me think of them and the pain just come back everytime. But I know there resting high on that mountain

Reading all these comments shows that we all have pain. Mine was the loss of my lovely wife of 47 years. Just seven months ago and it feels as if it were yesterday.
Vince and Patty singing this at George Jones memorial gets me everytime. But I have always thought Alyson sounds like an angel. Whiskey Lullaby is another song where she sounds like an angel.
I know your life On earth was troubled And only you could know the pain. You weren't afraid to face the devil, You were no stranger to the rain. Go rest high on that mountain Son,your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a-shoutin' Love for the Father and the Son. Oh,how we cried the day you left us We gathered round your grave to grieve. I wish I could see the angels faces When they hear your sweet voice sing. Go rest high on that mountain Son,your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a-shoutin' Love for the Father and the Son.
@Alison Krauss I have recently become a fan of yours although I always knew who you were. My parents and one of my brothers were huge fans. Hope to see you at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA when Covid is over with. Be safe

My dad just passed away from Dementia about 5 days ago. He loved this song and though he couldn't carry a tune he always sang it. Never understood how Vince could possibly sing this without breaking down in tears.
Me either! My good friend died a young man and it was played at his funeral! He’s home with the lord now! What an amazing song!
I’m so sorry! I’m caring for someone who is in the late stages. I don’t know how much longer she will be with us. In a brief moment she was lucid and gave her life to Jesus
look up him singing this at George Jones funeral .
What an amazing song
@jasonfideler1927 Vince did break down when he and Patty Loveless sang it in tribute to George Jones after he psssed
Just lost my son it will never be the same
Bless his memory...
My best friend died last year, we "planned" 1 more elk hunt in the high Eagle Cap mountains, sadly he didn't live long enough to make that trip. After his ashes and me make that trip, I will lay them to rest. May all our friends and family rest in peace.

Praise God! I'm blessed

Sorry for your loss. I had this played at my wife's funeral 11 yrs ago she was only 38. Time does make things easier 💯😇
I’ve been wrong before but I think Vince Gill has the best voice in country music.
It’s a tough call man, I think Steve Wariner, Colin Ray, and John Berry are really good male singers, I’m not saying you’re wrong, I don’t even have an opinion of who is actually THE best but the ones I named are the ones that I think are among the best out there.
Robert Jacobs, He’s the ultimate all around performer. Writer, singer and fabulous musician. It doesn’t get better than that.
Certainly one of yes…😊
I believe you're correct, yes sir!
Him and Garth need to do some harmonies together! They both make me proud to be an Okie! Love my Alison!! I still think she’s an Angel on Earth! 💗
Stupid Covid. I threw a fit w/ her show being canceled in OKC due to quarantine. Uuggghhhhhhhhh
I lost my wonderful husband in July of 1995 due to suicide. This song reminds me of him.
You have now experienced the essence of American Country Music. 💞
Try Brookes and Dunne ( Believe)
Beautiful!
Hello Lisa,how are you doing?
Yes, well said, the back up vocals should never try to outdo, out sing, nor overpower the lead singer...

I am not a religious man, but this is one of the most moving songs I have ever heard, sung so magnificently by these three gifted singers and musicians. Fantastic accompaniment on the piano, too.
Not religion LAW - 10 Commandments. The laws you agree with and have broken - John 3:18
What? If it's in the bible, it's religion, and therefore, nonsense.
Go get 'em, Lex! I'm not religious at all, but like you I appreciate good music. This is good music.

These three have always stayed true to their roots and genre.....I feel they've never "sold out". Simply beautiful.....
True,pure genuine. Yep.
We played this song at my brother’s funeral. He was profoundly disabled his entire life yet remains the happiest person I have ever known.
Thus song reminds me of my brother I just lost. He’s in heaven now. He worked hard all his life now he can go rest high in the Mountian
Hello how are you doing?
If they don't play this, at my funeral; I'm not showing up.
Same
Who cares if anyone shows up at my funeral, Why? because when i die i`m gone out of here in the blink of an eye. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. HOLY BIBLE ,KJV.
@@alansmlth7989 Alan, people who love you need closure! I had a viewing for my husband, had him cremated so I can hold his ashes as we are buried together!
@@rhondaboncutter5812 O my Gosh, you are starting to sound just like my sister in law. After my little brother passed away, Kim who was his wife ,had him buried within walking distant of their house.Every now and then ,she will take a Pillow and Blanket and go to the graveyard and seep next to my brothers tombstone, headstone.
@@alansmlth7989 If that's what she needs to make it through this life, so be it. In Christ, we have hope that we will see our loved ones again, but my greater hope is that I will see, hug, thank, and worship Jesus, my Savior and Lord.
I don’t believe you could ever hear a song with so much love, just Beautiful. ❤Love it. God Bless all.
When God was giving out talent, VINCE got in line twice.
Amen!
You get a hallelujah on that!
Vince gil is blessed with abundance of talent
Yes 🙌🏼 he did ♥️♥️♥️
Lord do not delay. May He keep those who need Him most close to His heart.🙏
Every time I hear this song, it hits me right there (you know, right there). Vince has such a beautiful voice.
hello Cam, hope you're okay?
Yes, a very great voice 😅🎉
He has an amazingly beautiful voice, and soul. Bless his heart!
An astonishing amount of talent on this stage. Magnificent.
My brother in law was brutally murdered and we chose this song. He's right beside his father
Hi Sherri💐💐
I think I just heard the angels singing... the purest sound of love and harmony. Perfection. My parents are in heaven listening...
+Gord Merritt : beautiful !!
+Gord Merritt
My husbands younger & only brother died a painful death (pancreatic cancer) He wanted this song played at brothers funeral. Lord, how my husband grieved, only lived a little while longer. Heartbreak is very real!
+Gord Merritt They are listening in your heart also.)
amen... god bless
I'm sorry.
I don't know how they sang it without crying. So touching.
Hello Marcia......
Yes. Every one has his or her own meaning to this song. How are you Marcia ?
I had no idea about the back story of the song. What a tribute to his brother. Blessings on your family Sir.
love this song my parents both passed in 2022 and this helps me feel peaceful.
Hi Lisa Good afternoon. I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌺🌺🌺
Reading all these comments shows that we all have pain. Mine was the loss of my lovely wife of 47 years. Just seven months ago and it feels as if it were yesterday.
Hey how are you doing?
You could never get better back ups than ricky scaggs and Allison crouse other than patty loveless. True heart felt country music.
Vince and Patty singing this at George Jones memorial gets me everytime. But I have always thought Alyson sounds like an angel. Whiskey Lullaby is another song where she sounds like an angel.
A day without hearing Vince Gill isn’t a good day.
I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain.
You weren't afraid to face the devil,
You were no stranger to the rain.
Go rest high on that mountain
Son,your work on earth is done.
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.
Oh,how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve.
I wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing.
Go rest high on that mountain
Son,your work on earth is done.
Go to heaven a-shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son.
thank you so much for posting the lyrics. Many times I don't hear well enough to decipher the words.
Tyvm for the lyrics, its greatly appreciated.
@Alison Krauss I have recently become a fan of yours although I always knew who you were. My parents and one of my brothers were huge fans. All three have since passed away and after hearing this song, I felt all three were right here with me. I'm 60 years old now and cry like a baby every time I hear this. Hope to see you at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA when Covid is over with. Be safe
