That's something I always appreciate, especially on the Master System manuals, where they would include what was most likely concept or just additional artwork. Really fleshes out the feel of the game.
Been playing this recently as I'm on a shooter kick. Despite not being very good at them. This is right in my wheelhouse for difficulty and was a nice surprise all around. Hope you were hinting at the 32x Space Harrier port coming next week!
As a reference, looking at the Japanese subscript for its title, ジノーグ (jinōgu), the title actually reads as "geenog", not that it matters actually 😅 It is an awesome game however you decide to call it.
Dave, I have returned from my mission through time and space to save the world. I have failed, totally and catastrophically. Cool review as always though, my dude.
@ZilogandMoto Goodness no, a 2600 homebrew cart. The game was ported back in the day, but this is an updated "Arcade" version, Atari Vox support with voices, etc. Great review as always btw.
That was a very cool and unexpected earthquake effect in level 1!
"What's a Gynoug?" "Ok, what's a Gynoug with you?"
You've been saving that one, haven't you?
The JP manual is worth mentioning here, the artwork is great

Love this game, such a neat shooter. The parallax effect in the first stage with the stage shaking threw me off the first time I played it.
I was NOT expecting it. I was expecting something more like Task Force Harrier EX, this was WAY better.
That looks really dope.
We still getting Phantasy Star 2 by year's end? 👀 👀
Yes. As soon as I stop screwing around with Doom and Halo in my free time. In all seriousness, I'm halfway done with it.
Great US cover. The PAL version is pretty cool too, both the cover and the game. Such a strange name though.
Yeah, I never understood that, but when you look at what the bosses are named, I guess it's not really THAT odd.
That level 1 train boss is extremely Cho Aniki.
I didn't think even about that, but now that you mention it, it does make sense that they would go on to make those games!

I will not confirm or deny any reviews of any 32X games next week. ;)
Great game. I got this one for free back in the day and was very surprised.
For free? Wow, that's a steal.
This game is awesome! Great review!
Thank you!

Geenog, huh? That actually does make more sense. I'll have to remember that for the future.

Well, you'll get 'em next time. And thank you!
This one I have, JP MD version, fantastic game. I'm still waiting for a Wizard of Wor Arcade from the Atari Age Last Chance sale from last year.
Like, the actual arcade machine?
