@@parkerwilliams617 I see where you're coming from, I have an iphone but only for the novelty of features like imessage (for my friends), airdrop, and it has a great camera. BUT, I use a $200 chromebook from costco that does its function and I can type notes quickly, do digital notetaking, for the fraction of the cost of apple. (I could have 5 chromebooks for the price of a macbook!) And, apple doesn't even offer a touchscreen laptop! I'm just saying, for those of us who aren't privileged enough to spend freaking $1000 on an ipad, android products work great. I can attest with my top 1% class ranking.

I use my Lenovo T580 charger over the supplied charger. More than doubles charge speed, not that you even need to charge it that often. Love having ChromeOS tablet instead of only Android, best of both worlds. So easy to carry this with me on the go for urgent work cases that come up while being on-call instead of lugging a laptop around in a backpack. Fits easily into back pocket of car seat.

My mom bought me one this morning as an early (very early) Christmas present to help me get through school. Now that everything is online-based through Google Classroom and other affiliated Google programs, I definitely needed something better than my cellphone to get me through my senior year. I loved the detachable keyboard because it gave me more options for digital art and still allowed me to type my essays and do my classwork. I highly recommend this product, even if it does have little flaws. The price is incredible and makes for the perfect 2 in 1 laptop and tablet.

I finally bought one and I love it!
I don't recall it being covered, but here's another awesome feature. When you have the keyboard attached and want to quickly use it as a tablet, flip the keyboard under and it disables the keyboard. Very nice for a quick switch to tablet and back.

I would just keep in mind that unlike a laptop style Chromebook, this one has the kickstand on the back and it's worth noting that it'll increase its footprint a little bit more then one might expect when set up. Won't be much, but it might interfere if you are already limited on space.

I've had my Duet for a couple days now and I couldn't be happier. My reason for buying it was to be a tablet first, laptop second. I think for this Lenovo has knocked it out of the park. It's a secondary device for me, so the processor is plenty powerful enough for me. And the keyboard is great for casual use, I wouldn't want to write a novel on this, but it works really well. It's just a beautiful package overall. My ONLY criticism is I wish the speakers were a little louder. They sound nice, they just don't get very loud. But so far I'm loving this. Looking forward to your full review.

For what I need and want in a laptop/tablet/Chromebook this little guy is really checking all the boxes for me. And the fact that it only has one port is not actually a deal breaker for me. I picked up a USB-C multiport hub that address those needs. I've been eyeing the 128GB model to make sure I have enough local onboard storage and the hub has two SD card slots as well. I like watching your videos they are extremely informative in my decision to buy certain devices keep up the great work.

How could you not get excited for the unboxing experience? lol. like to buy the more premium and higher quality tech stuff, but I rarely every upgrade since I wait for it to pretty much die before I replace it. To poor to upgrade for the sake of upgrading. The unboxing is almost like a religious experience for me, lol. When I got my Note 9, I took my sweet time unboxing and just inspecting and all that. Hoping to keep this phone for 5-8 years. And my almost 3 months old LG gram 17 (Costco version and on sale cant beat it) for hopefully 6 to 10 years, or longer if possible. Still thinking about getting that HP Envy 17 inch laptop though from Best Buy with the NVIDIA mx330. The new model for this year. Would love any thoughts on that if possible.

sold out already at Best BUy? Seems Lenovo may have made a very attractive product! The kicker for me will be how capable the processor is, and how bright the display is. seems great though!
You say it has a MT 8183, but elsewhere all seem to say it has a Helio P60T. I havent found the "T" yet, but the regular P60 seems comparable to the 8183 if not a smidge faster anyway.,

Nowadays I'm really asking myselft, who actually still buys chromebooks?
Surface go is a full os, and ipad os on an ipad with all the tweaks apple made in the last years is also just better than what chromeOS gives us. Especially simple chrome laptops without conventible features don't make any sense, except in schools? Or should this replace a new generation of android tablets?

  • @san-chil

It's a good device for reading books and light browsing while on the go ... Never bought a tablet .. just too many devices ... but ... I am having second thoughts about this one. This certainly has got to be better than Android os, but then it also begs the question, why buy an Android Tablet? Or why do Android tablets exist?

I am kinda believer of Chromebook. since we all know how mess is Android Tablet for regular social media use (like twitter for example). and somehow how mess browsing desktop sites on android (always load the mobile version and sometimes despite we already click "Load Desktop version" still loads the mobile ones) and also sometimes feels kinda slow if we use android tablet for load desktop web (In my experience).
But chromebook, it's nice, fast, and always automatically opening desktop version of the webpages. and It's more useful for me to use chromebook tablet instead of android tablet for daily browsing on facebook, youtube, twitter.
maybe people asing but what about iPad? well since I am too locked with google ecosystem (I am using GSuites, G-One, and many other Google Services for my daily use) right now. It's kinda hard for me to choose iPad instead of this one. Really excited with the chromebook duet. I really hope Lenovo Indonesia will bring this to our country.

I think such devices should have some Linux (as in GNU/Linux, if you will) preinstalled instead of ChromeOS; it is much more useful.

Agreed, such a shame,I need to replace my android tablet, but I also need a headphone socket. Not being able to charge and listen at the same time is a deal-breaker. Bluetooth headphones are also useless for anything but casual listening as they have too much delay.
