I like the point how he said we should see ourselves people to people. Ang hirap minsan wag maging biased or impartial especially if you put geopolitics into account. Pero we should all remember that a country's people is not its government. Di dapat ma-prejudice against the citizens dahil lang sa government nila. ...Thanks for the Chinese resto tour. Bonus na bansa pa, Taiwanese dessert!
It’s a throwback of my childhood those are the kind of Chinese foods that we had as a family because my stepdad was from Mainland China and he is Cantonese. Thank you for this segment your silent viewer from Monterey County California. More power and God bless.🙏♥️🙏
Kuan Zhai Alley! Been eating there since we first discovered it in 2020! So glad its getting the recognition it deserve! Try nyo guys ang sarap, ang anghang!
This is a good episode. It’s true that we get intimidated when trying to eat in a Chinese restaurant because most of the time people are not familiar with the food and the menu is always written in Chinese. This definitely gives a different view on Chinese restaurants. I super love Chinese food and will definitely try these restaurants soon! Well done, FEATR! 🥂
I met Sir Anson Yu with the famous photographer Fung Yu and historian Xiao Chua a few years ago during our observation of the Traslacion. That was one of the most information-rich afternoons while having met new people in a while. :)
This is very educational. I learned that in some parts of China, it's very dry and they need to sweat so they put herbs and spices to their food to make them sweat, thus, avoiding arthritis. That's their belief. Awesome!
I feel so much closer with our Chinese side of the culture. They were there long before the Spaniards arrived and traded goods and crafts with our ancestors, they were there during the Spanish takeover and colonial period, they were there when the Japanese attacked, they were there when the Americans took over, they were there long after this and still are. A quarter of us have Chinese ancestry even if it is 5%. Our language, cuisine and traditions were influenced. Sure, I do get the "Why are they taking over everything?" opinion, I get the disdain caused by the tension at sea, but I don't want to blame the people who want a better life and move abroad, if anything it is an honour people come to our country and think it is an opportunity, we do the same as OFW. Can't talk about the Chinese government though... as they make their own people suffer too, so no wonder some want to leave.
Because that’s what your new colonial masters feed you to distance you from a people that never once try to colonize it you. These white snakes project their own colonial ambitions on to others while they are doing everything then can to rule over non whites. Believe it or not most Chinese people like their own government, and the Americans are full of crap pretending to be good while invading countries across the world.
the Chinese govt lifted 80 million people out of poverty and their standard of living is much higher than that of the USA. the ones that leave the country (yes the ones you see in the PH) do so in pursuit of more unsavory activities and grey area careers because they can get away with it elsewhere, same can be said about South Korean nationals in the PH. makes sense that Filipinos don't have a good impression of of Chinese people since it's mostly the bottom of the barrel that immigrate. same thing with Westerners moving to the PH, except Filipinos still have white-worship stockholm syndrome mentality from the colonial days it seems lol and more recently k-worship thanks to hallyu.
Yum. Ever since i left china after working there for a year, i realized just how much of thier regional cuisine is mostly unknown outside of china. Cantonese is the most obvious that we have locally, but as the hosts pointed out, the mainstream ones is localized already. Even the second featured cuisine, sichuan, has some familiar things that were adapted by cantonese restaurants, but not the fried spicy fish soups/curries which i learned to love the most when i tried it in china. Sana there is a part 2, baka they can go find more less known things like xinjiang cuisine, hunan cuisine, dongbei cuisine, maybe even yunnan cuisine. But i never personally found those yet, so hard to say.
First wave of Chinese diaspora were southern Chinese. Cantonese, hokkien, Hakka, teo chew. Which is why most people are familiar with dishes from those areas of China.
Went to kuanzhai alley after watching, we used to frequent this hole in the wall restaurant in Bangkal, Maomis, it's the same cuisine, too bad Maomis closed, I'm glad to find this one thru this video
Mapo tofu is my favourite. Mala food is spicy but so good. You have to give Szechuan restaurants at least twice a try to get familiar with the taste, after that you will keep on looking for it.
The bridge you just walked on is also the Filipino-Chinese friendship bridge 😁 thanks for sharing this. These are great places. The guy in green looks like a former president 🤔🤔🤔
There are a lot of good points in the video the camera work is excellent, but the dialogue between the two is drowned by the background noise and it becomes more pronounced when the audio transitions from spoken dialogue to music. I'm sure a lot was edited out but at the end of the day.... I'm not sure if the video was actually recommending the restaurants, because after watching it for the first and only time.... I didn't get the real message of the video...I hope the next one will be better... I'm looking forward to the next one.
Great episode ! any recommendations for Lanzhou or Xi’an style La Mian? (Handpulled aka BiangBiang noodles?) One of my favorite regional styles of Chinese noodles. love the fresh-ground chili blend and sizzling oil they pour on top of those noodles !
Dami tao nung lunar New year. Yung nag lockdown nawala na rin sya the whole place nag iba na. Parang tinayo lang sya to cater to Chinese na tinatawag natin na pogo workers.
Can you pls show the list of the Restos? I know it was flashed on the side of the screen for few seconds but the texts were so small that it’s hard to read. Thanks!
Yun sa 3rd resto parang pati server ay chinese, look so authentic. I wanted to try that resto but I'm worried if I will be able to communicate with the servers 🤭
Thanks for your vlog about hidden Chinese restaurants in manila. No addresses were given so I'm not wasting my time going around looking for the addresses of these restaurants. There are other restaurants around manila. Next time you vlog state the addresses please. This is from Canada.
Try coming to any Chinese neighborhood in NYC...a lot of restaurants don't even have an English menu. lol. You just kind of have to suck it up and go in blindly in hopes that the waitress speaks kindergarten english.
while you spent time and money filming and eating na rin, altho mababawi nyo naman sa views, i hope you include or tell ur audience na rin whats the name of the dishes per resto and the final price is perhaps just kinda like Mark Weins is doing. suggest lang naman kasi yung video nyo will go a long long way na. sayang kung hindi complete. malay ba kasi ng tayo ano yung inoooder nyo eh chinese yan. Peace out!
The difference between a journalist-vlogger and a vlogger who is not a journalist is this vlogger doesn't even say what restaurant he is featuring. If you want to guide your audience to experience what your featuring you have to tell them where and which restaurant you are in.
Hope u really watched the video and not scanned through it?? There's literally graphics of what restaurants they visited, and it's even in the caption.
I don't understand why the LGU seemed to tolerate these restaurants for not being able to cater to non-Chinese speaking customers! It not only intimidates locals but foreigners as well. The problem with this is it divides people. Why can't these restaurant owners hire local crews as well?!
Unsustainable, you'll see soon. - bhuddha i told u so "Can i get the 4 pc nugget with sweet and sour please with medium fries and a Coke" Trying to be different from 20 billion (20,000,000,000) other Asians is super difficult, ya know what I'm saying?!?

I love this kind of episodes. The unpopular but very good food spots in the metro.

China seems like a great place to live in even for Filipinos.

Good Luck Hot Pot is a gem of a restaurant. Quite expensive but really tasteful! And the experience is quite distinct.
Kuanzhai Alley is located at WMall Macapagal Blvd ., you can try our authentic Chinese Food..❤❤❤

Ps. I really wanna go to that taiwanese shaved ice place. Did not know it was there. We frequent only the rise makati, which is next door
you worked there during Covid Dynasty?
First wave of Chinese diaspora were southern Chinese. Cantonese, hokkien, Hakka, teo chew. Which is why most people are familiar with dishes from those areas of China.
I like this Chinese food crawl. Informative and not just random restaurants that are popular.
Omg Meet fresh!!! ❤️❤️❤️ highly recommended!
Went to kuanzhai alley after watching, we used to frequent this hole in the wall restaurant in Bangkal, Maomis, it's the same cuisine, too bad Maomis closed, I'm glad to find this one thru this video

Mapo Tofu my favorite gotta try that.
The pork belly is actually roasted and not fried. It’s what we call siu yuk / sio bak or lechon macau.

You'll be surprised, maraming Pinoys ang me Chinese blood. I didn't know until i took a DNA test na 78 percent Chinese daw ako.
Missing Moderna Panciteria in Sta. Cruz, Manila, help in finding something close tasting to this legenday restaurant please. missing their Halo!
Try coming to any Chinese neighborhood in NYC...a lot of restaurants don't even have an English menu. lol. You just kind of have to suck it up and go in blindly in hopes that the waitress speaks kindergarten english.

Please do one in manila not in metro manila. Most of the places here are located in pasay city eh.
Make no mistake. It's the gov, not the people.
Hello! Can you do hidden Chinese resto also in Baguio? All I know is the Rose Bowl and the oldest resto in Legarda street

I called Kuanzhai Alley, they hung up on me...
What do I do now?
❤
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽💙💙💙CHINESE FOOD😋😋😋👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🍻🍻🍻
ano po eksakto loc or address at number nla po
Knowing their hot kitchen in a Chinese resto, you will not dare to dine again. I’d rather support local restaurants than these chinese restaurants.
Sa pagkaka alam ko galing sila sa Amoy, Fukien . . . 😂🤭
wew
awow
Hindi naman hidden yan. Try ninyo old captain 😊
Ummmm Onn Kee po and not Onn Knee

Jollibee nga sa abroad puro pinoy and crew 🤣
Duck has no fishy taste cause it is not a fish or seafood. You should have said, "gamy" (game) taste.😅
sorry but learn to respect our territories/ppl before we can start to appreciate your culture. yall have a voice to speak to your govt.
Resto in pasay and pasay is not manila and taiwanese desset is not chinese. Your title is a misnomer.
Tumpak
You have to remove your Cap when eating
Thumbnail, Manila then i heard Pasay🥴???
Better say Metro Manila
Oo nga . Ang gulo Ng geography nila
Click bait! Calling a resto in public space hidden lol
Unsustainable, you'll see soon.

Trying to be different from 20 billion (20,000,000,000) other Asians is super difficult, ya know what I'm saying?!?
Maybe you should take off your cap while eating to show respect for the food.
WAG MO NG VLOG YANG AREA NA YAN MAGKAKALASON DYAN SA BUONG LUGAR NA YAN!!!
