Key is to go in slowly and exit out slow. That’s the manufacturers advice too and that’s how these Land and range rovers are tested.

It’s planned to re-open in June next year; this is some old footage + some unused 👍🏼
It's still shut, I actually used to commute through it every day so it's a bit of a pain being shut!

One night in the rain I hit a flooded underpass while driving a Renault 10. It was like hitting a brick wall. But the engine being in the back I was able to drive out :)
If you got a snorkeling device on your Air filters, ie its up at roof level, you will stand a better chance of not causing a hydraulic lock in the engine of a diesel engine one.
It's the same for petrol engines.

@@dot7107 It's been closed for a long time, I did hear on a different video of a potential reopening in April 2025 but who knows. I know Ben, Tom and a few others use other locations now for filming

@@dot7107 mostly due to an idiot in a blue Landy who kept blasting through it and driving up the spillway to the dam.
Plus it was just attracting too many people for the wrong reasons , Ie blasting through just for cameras .
There was going to be a serious accident at some point.

i have a $100k Land Rover what's some water? Get that water in the air intake and you have a $100k doorstop. Stay behind your own wake and you're good.
The key is to have a proper Range Rover. None of that Evoque or Sport nonsense. A proper Range Rover with ground clearance will do the trick

Considering land rovers supposedly are unreliable , not a single one got stuck in the water unlike isotherm wannabe 4x4s , yes couple of them had trouble as they come out of the water due to the soft squidgy organic bit behind the wheel and there stupidity showing off , but proof Land Rover , Range Rover are very capable off roaders , and yes I do own a Range Rover have done for years and no I wouldn’t dream of having anything else .
Is there some sort of engineering or design error? Why are the roads allowed to be flooded? Is this a private road? Why is is not fixed? I am really curious?

There's a saying in the 4x4 community: If you want to 'go anywhere' get a Land Rover. If you want to get back again, get a Toyota.

Also: If you are a poor peasant who can't afford Land Rover but want to comfort yourself, buy a second hand Toyota and pretend you buy for "reliability" not that you can't afford a better car
