  • This was a really fun challenge and collaboration with Abandoned Miniatures! We both tried our best to create a realistic room diorama that looks like it could exist in real life. Make sure to check out Nic's video as well!

    I love it so much! The photographs at the end gave it the perfect extra touch to make you wonder more about the history of the place. This was a ton of fun and I am honored that you collaborated with me! Thank you Ara!

      I am just now learning the layering concept when i first started i would use to bulky of material to make things look realistic . I was getting supper frustrated with my results , and as u know miniatures take so much time , so when i would finish a project and it wasnt what i wanted i pretty much gave up ! Sometime i just think .. how did i not think of that lol thank u !!

    I used think adults who “played with dolls” were weird. I just enjoyed the artistry. However now that I have been watching y’all for a while I totally understand the appeal. You get to be creative, and get to build a world you want. As if your are writing 3D stories. I absolutely love that.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      I think its definitely the world building that draws me in too! I used to not want dolls in my projects until I built the Addams house... it just had to have the family😄 Now its almost like the story is incomplete without the main character!

      it's so much more than just playing with dolls :D I recommend trying to make minis, it's so satisfying!

      Ignorance is a wonderful thing. A bit like adults that "play" with toy trains. Model building is an art form, regardless if the subject. I am proud of my model building.

    Depending on your project, when using the latex, sometimes you can use the eraser end of a pencil and it comes right off in a blob but here, I think it was best that you picked at it. Great idea!

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will try that too! I saw Nic use an eraser in his video ... that may have been much easier!

    I aways thought this video was part of the abandoned coffee shop playlist, so i never watched it. I accidentally clicked on it when it came to my suggestions, and only then i realised the error of my ways.
    I absolutely LOVE watching the construction of a build, and i love watching realisti builds, especially from materials like cardboard. Thank goodness i clicked on this video.

    Oh Ara, this turned out fabulous. I’m blown away by your talent every time you touch supplies you turn them into something amazing! I love this scene, it speaks of history and the past and what the room was used for perhaps. You almost want to shrink yourself, so you can go explore the room and then the rest of the house!!! Fantastic job on this one and I think it’s one of my favourite rooms you’ve made, so far. 🥰

    I am a big fan of watching abandoned videos. Your diorama was spot on. The biggest issue with abandoned places is black mold because the roof is the first thing to go. I also like when nature (plants) start to creep in. I can't wait to see more from you on this subject. Oh yeah...the other big issue are vandals with their graffiti and breaking everything.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much!! If you enjoyed this build and you want more mold and plants, you might enjoy my 'Abandoned Coffee Shop' playlist. It is much more abandoned and there is a tree growing up through a chair by the end! It was really fun to create!

      @@BentleyHouseMinis Imagine having a few of them in a room and they all look very unassuming, then you look closer and 🤯. That would be cool to make them into a sort of peepshow where one has to look through the windows or small holes to see the realistic inside. That would be really cool too. :)

My kids have to learn some patience for mommy to get off auto pilot before the presents get touched! 😜 but yaaaay! I’ve been anticipating this video and you did not disappoint! I'm really tempted to try this. I love realism in my miniatures, but I'm usually doing the opposite of what you're doing here, trying to make things look perfect. Your challenge here seems like it could be freeing to try and deliberately make a room or scene look old, decrepit and abandoned. You are an inspiration!

I know, it's ridiculous but can't help it.

    I love your work so much. Thank you. I have been sick and I came here to de-stress. I want to start making miniatures again. I use to make miniatures when I was younger. I am a really good sculpture. I can also draw anything. I am autistic and I was born with gifts for sculpturing and drawing. I never believed in myself until I started sharing my work online and people commented and liked my work. It is kinda overwhelming sometimes. I always felt like a unicorn in a field of horse's. The internet has helped me come out of my turtle shell. People like yourself inspire me to improve and to create new things. ❤️ I am very grateful. Also, I love your hair, you are lovely. I use to have short hair sadly it stuck out like straw, so I let it grow. Lol
