    Great vid mate, that last trail did look sketchy haha, you're not human if you don't get scared, such a buzz though when you hit things you normally avoid etc, great work 👍

    Well done on turning the corner on that last steep techy trail. I remember you attempting it before when it was wet and muddy. You're making good progress mate. 😀🤙🤙🤙

    Good work Gordy. Some slopes are definitely harder trying to walk down slow than going down them in the right position on the bike 👍

      agreed, I think i'm just not at a level yet where i can see something like this and make a quick decision how to ride it. no doubt i will do it after watching others go down it and picking my line. I'm sure it will come with experience👍

      @@DownhillDesireMTB I can't quite see from your videos if you use 1 finger breaking? The reason I ask is that when I got restarted mountain biking just under 3 years ago I got into the bad habit of using 2 fingers for breaking and the moment I started 1 finger breaking my riding improved dramatically as you have more control of your bars and bike.

    Confidence is a funny thing. Can be hard to build up and really easy to lose. You ever had any coaching? Working on fundamentals with a coach might be really good for you.

    Great riding Gordy, even trying is succeeding remember that, next we go to Chopwell I will get you down thar line ok as I know you can do it you just need to stitch your skills together now, learn to get more off the back of the bike on steeper stuff as your still bit central but making big strides❤🤙

    • @andylanigan5267
      @andylanigan5267 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Central is good, if you go too far back there's no play in your reach so anything past that point and you could be in a wee bit of trouble.. love your enthusiasm Gordy

    • @davidm2843
      @davidm2843 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another vote for 'central is good'. Hanging off the back is a bad habit that you'll just need to be coached out of.

    • @dirtcheapdownhill2848
      @dirtcheapdownhill2848 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidm2843 respectfully disagree, centralis correct for most riding but if your going down steep stuff everybody gets off the back to counter the angle then returns to central

      @@dirtcheapdownhill2848 The problem with "weight back" as a cue for beginners is, thats what they do. They end up arms locked, bums out over the back tyre, which isn't very balanced. I think it's a hell of a lot more complicated and dynamic than that, but "weight back" is much easier to say than "centre of gravity over the bottom bracket"!
      The biggest technique lightbulb moment for me lately has been "chest to the bar". Forcing myself to bend my arms and lower my chest in steep and tech. You still need to shift your hips back, but you aren't hanging off the back of the bike with locked-out arms. This has seen me ride steep and tech with much more control.
