Been apreciating Ryobi tools for 25 years now. Glad that the better batteries made my old tools new again. Only a retired DIY guy but use multiple tools every day. My older hammer drill still has more features than the new ones.
I do use it for home use. But being an educated iron worker. And having used Dewalt. Mikita. Bosch professionel. AEG. Hilti. Mostly everything other than Milwaukee... Ryobi is actually really solid tools. Wouldent even mind using them in a professional setting
I don't understand the 4 volt you plug it into USB to charge it but you can't use it as a battery charger for your phone. It would be nice if they integrated that.
That's interesting... we tested it with an iPhone 15 Pro. It could be a setting on your specific phone that determines whether it supplies power or draws power from a 2 way connection, I know I've heard of devices with that capability before.
I wish they would make a 1/2in compact impact. Would be great for doing suspension work in tight spots. I have an old 18v dewalt but batteries are hard to find, If ryobi had one I would get it.
I’m a DIY woman… I buy just about everything RYOBI… when I saw this pop up in my thread to watch… I was interested. I have all lawn tools including a tiller… I have hand tools.. a fan for my dogs crate…and thanks to you… I will be purchasing the tripod light ( how cool is that - you can attach a fan at the top) and a float bow up… most likely will buy a stapler and will upgrade my hammer drill. I like the portability of these tools… the fact that the batteries are interchangeable…the quality and the color is nice.
I think the color of their tools is my least favorite thing about them. But with that said, I'm a fan of a lot of their innovative solutions that many other platforms just don't offer. I also recently have been using some of their 4 volt products. I really like the 4 volt magnetic 8:34 flashlight that includes an integrated red LED that I use at work often and the package opener which I find very useful. Making a stapler that uses that same battery is a great idea and might be something I need to pick up myself.
@@El_Diablo_LI Ryobi permanently banned me from commenting on their TH-cam channel because I said that one of their 18V tools was way too expensive so I'll say it here, the 4V line is way too expensive. You can buy an 18650 battery for $4, why is their 3Ah battery so expensive? Also, $50 for their Power Cutter is insane which is why I don't have one. What's even crazier i that they want $50 for a tiny clamp light! No thanks, there are much, much cheaper options that run off of common AA rechargeable batteries. About three years I bought an aluminum multi-LED pocket flashlight from the dollar store that runs off of AA batteries and it is *_crazy_* bright - I paid $1 for it.
The light is the most interesting tool there. I'm curious how much $ it's going to be. Skill makes something similar but not as bright. It doesn't have the 120 volt option but can use 12 or 20 volt batteries. If you have the batteries its pretty handy and I'm guessing it's cheaper than this one too at $130 last I checked.
I'm definitely looking forward the USB lithium high volume inflator. My 18 volt version broke. (2 weeks after the 3 year warranty) :( It's probably slower, but hey, I've got the batteries now, so why not. I used the 18 volt version for blowing bugs out of my bug zapper. Lol! I also used it blow the dust out of my computer. It's safer than canned air because there's no chemicals that are wet going into it. My computer guy also recommends it over the canned stuff too. I also used it to inflate the inflatables like the queen bed for guests. If it takes too long for that, I'll just buy the 18 volt one. I'll sell the USB one then. Oh well. We'll see.
All I need from ryobi is a tool that has low vibration and quiet. The hp 71/4 inch circular saw is very loud. I think the look alike tools like the drill driver are a money making scheme because they're almost the same. If you by the tool because of its a little more compact and you have the older compact model then you're most likely to use the older model. In many cases its a money making scheme especially if the older models meet your needs and you love tools
I like the color because it makes everything easy to see and find. If their tools were black I might have to look harder… time is important when you’re on a job. I think that the color is gender neutral and I’m sure that was part of the consideration. I have also bought the Auger and saved myself well over a $1000 in plumbing fees. It worked great… no plumber and I have the tool for future problems. I bought the nailer, saws all, and glue gun. I typically use a blower at work around my customers pools. The prices are right and I make money using them. Win win.
ryobi needs to get rid of the "Pod" style battery and move over to "slide" type battery to have a more compact tool design....and also offer an adapter like dewalt does !!!
I disagree with this. Them never changing their battery is why I bought into the platform. Every other brand changed their platform before you can invest in the platform.
This is why I say its a money making scheme. They could've made these look alike tools with the same power and speed when they first came out, but they needed to save that power to make more money. I hope those who have the old model hp tools doesn't buy any of the new look alike tools
So , you think tool companies are not out there to make money except ryobi ? Another way of looking at it that they are just trying to improve earlier models . I reckon that’s a good thing . If you have an old model that still does the job, no one is twisting your arm up your back to buy the newer one . I have a 6 year old ryobi mower , and it was a little down on power compared to my old petrol mower , but it still does the job . There is a newer improved model ryobi mower with allegedly more power, , I may look at that one when I kill the old one , I still love the old one , but when the time comes I will be happy to buy the improved model. ! Your idea that companies automatically just build an amazing product that will never ever need to be improved straight off the bat …… does any company manage to do that ?
@mikldude9376 I understand this but how big of a difference there is between this drill driver and impact driver in this video and its predecessor. They look exactly alike. I wasn't speaking for all tool owners I was speaking for myself. I completely understand in your case about a very old lawn mower that you have needs replacing you appreciate a new one being released. You have to understand that when a new product has been released they should go two steps forward instead of kinda staying in the same place. I've seen tool companies come out with a new drill for example and they say this new drill has 200 more inch pounds of torque than the other and it's not true. I've spent thousands of dollars on ryobi you name it I have it amd there's no excuse for ryobi days this year. They ripped us off a black 4ah battery and a hp 6ah battery. Then the tool selection wasn't that great. Don't get me wrong I don't love ryobi any less but they should never go back a step in your deals

The light is probably the best thing. It is something I've wanted from any brand for a while now.
I wonder if I can put my sawzall on that tripod and use it like a pole saw? 🤣
You'd be unable to do so because there's no trigger at the tripod base to activate the sawzall, wild thinking though. 😂👌🏻
@@Jmdp.94 I could always duct tape the trigger. Get ready for some very creative TH-cam videos. 😆
No
It's been tested. It'll work so long as you use the 18v battery. If you you a 40v battery it won't work. Same as the 120v plug
Yes it works, but you'll have to clamp the trigger down. A video was posted on Reddit.
Such an innovative company, leading the way in product assortment. So great.
I do use it for home use. But being an educated iron worker. And having used Dewalt. Mikita. Bosch professionel. AEG. Hilti. Mostly everything other than Milwaukee... Ryobi is actually really solid tools. Wouldent even mind using them in a professional setting
Just got the USB lithium stapler today. Not too bad for being small & light. Struggles with wetter wood but does perfectly when dry
I don't understand the 4 volt you plug it into USB to charge it but you can't use it as a battery charger for your phone. It would be nice if they integrated that.
You can! One of the 2AH 4V batteries will give your phone about 50% charge, we tested it.
@Protoolreviews for some reason when I plug my phone in my phone was actually charging the battery.
That's interesting... we tested it with an iPhone 15 Pro. It could be a setting on your specific phone that determines whether it supplies power or draws power from a 2 way connection, I know I've heard of devices with that capability before.
I Like The 4 Volt USB Multihead Screwdriver

I'm not surprised that you buy Ryobi, they heavily market toward women.

I'm looking forward to the light
I wish I had known about the lighting before buying one like that from Milwaukee!
I like that you can get them all bare tools.
Yes they finally got a tripod llight

When are they come out with all new customer service

At this point, Ryobi has made more models of air inflators/pumps than actual drills.
Are all of the pics and videos just marketing collateral from Ryobi themselves?

Johnston Parkway
Please Ryobi can you bring out a decent 7 1/4" circ saw ,the current one is PATHETIC?
Right it is gutless. A worm drive would be sweet.
Wouldn't be a new tool release from ryobi without an inflator lol.
The only thing worse then Ryobi tools is the Ryobi warranty.
Ryobi is the best

I wouldn't use Ryobi tools if they were free. Only thing more laughable than the products are the warranties.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Ryobi now has a deal on the compact brushless drill and driver for $129 bucks
