Never tried the ASD2. But I have two fat handle techs. Ones minty in the case and everything. The other is well used but cleaned up okay. It's an excellent shaver. Then I have two thin handle techs in the box. Both brass handled versions. Ones from the 1950's and the other is from the 60's. Love using them. Then finally I have a Tech Travel Razor that's basically new. They all perform so well for what they are.
Great shave Jim! I’m not surprised that the results, from what I’ve seen the AS-D2 is incredibly mild and it needs a super sharp blade to make it work. Sounds like a lively walk along the River! I hope you have a great week my friend!

Hello Robert. The Feather is ultra mild. But a very high price tag. The difference between an expensive razor and a cheap razor is,, the expensive one cost more money 💰
This is an epic comparison vintage vs New. I think many new entrants like myself will benefit from this. If you get a chance try to obtain a British fat bottom tech. That looks exactly like the feather as d2. Thank you for doing this.

I think I have 5 of them now, all different of course. Love the Lea soap and cream, very refreshing scent. The AS-D2 has never appealed to me to be honest, hence why I haven't got one. The Tech would make a great starter razor as long as you adjust to the weight difference. Don't like the 365s much either, one use is enough for me then I bin them. My 365s will end up in a giveaway. They're ok for one use though. I loved the ASD2 when I first bought it. But it just don't cut the mustard nowadays. It's ok for when the old skin is bad. Your right mate the lea classic sensitive cream is great stuff and so is aftershave lotion and balm 👍 just used a Gillette Wilkinson sword blade in my Rockwell 6 s plate 3 what a fantastic blade never used them before 👌👏

Cheers Geraint. Yes mate. We were suckered in by a great looking razor unfortunately. The Tech is so easy to shave with. And there's plenty to be found on Ebay. The English made ones were issued to the task force when they were sent to retake the Falklands. I could kick myself for buying the ASD2. But I did love it when I first bought it. But my 6S quickly superceded it.

A perfect Rockwell 6S set up there Stuart. It's a nice scent that Twa Burds coffee. I wish I could use post shave balm. But It would cause me even more skin problems. Cheers Stuart

ASD2 yeah over priced... the Gilette i believe its called the tech aluminium handle Made in Britain ..DE razors with heavier head are better instead of weight just in the handle
