My 2019 Honda Insight works the same. Runs until the engine reaches operating temp usually sending charge to the battery, and it will idle the engine or send charge to the battery when heat is on until the coolant is hot, then it shuts off until the coolant temp or battery SoC gets low enough. The engine hits 1500 rpm charging parked and 1000 rpm if its idling only for heat
I have a 2019 Toyota corolla hybrid euro market. I guess mine is nickel hybrid battery, the 2023 model is supposed to be with ion battery which they say might be better in many situations. Are you sure yours is ion?
The only lithium battery in that car is in the keyfob, lol. The main hybrid battery is NiMH (metal nickel hydride) None of this really matters. But what ever you are doing keep doing it. Love seeing these high-mileage Corolla Hybrids.
E eu preocupado com a km do meu. Está hoje com 132k km que se equivalem a 82k milhas. E o pessoal aqui no Brasil joga o preço lá embaixo por causa do "medo" da bateria de tração. Obrigado pelo relato amigo
Thats clearly value for money transport and motoring, hence reason why Corolla's are one of the best mass produced cars. 2 questions... How many miles do you change your motor oil? Have you serviced the auto transmission, and if so, what mileage was the first service/ change of trans oil?
how often you change oil? like 5 or 7 thousand miles? i had a toyota c hr with the same hybrid engine here in italy 1.8 122cv and i did 154 thousand km that are like 75 thousand miles and i selled because for me was a lot of km here in italy we have the bad use to give away cars with 100 120 kkm that are about 70 80 thousand miles 😅 because we think they are not trustble no more☹... nice job but the way i will follow you... and yes if you switch the heater the engine will switch on myne wad doing like that too. now i have an alfaromeo stelvio 2.2 210 horse power since 3 years and i did 108 thousand km and i think to buy a rav 4 hybrid... i think you have it too i saw in the initial part of the video a car that seems rav 4 right?
He's trying to pretend the 480k miles isn't the whole point of the video, okay so you did 480k miles in your corolla on a highway, something that most cars will do
You are legend
Please continue driving that corolla 1.8 hybrid
See how far it can reach

the 1.8 Corolla has a lithium battery. The 2.0 Corolla had a NiMH. After 2023 all corollas have only lithium batteries in their hybrid system.
Great machine!
