As you can see she was speechless.. And since it's a REACTION video, the viewers want to take a moment and hear the reactor's thoughts, feelings, and predictions as new things are revealed.
With reveals in general, people usually expect it to be huge. Tension filled. Like Annie's. But this one was just so casual. Out of the blue. It was so unexpected. And at the same time, heavily foreshadowed. And that's what makes it so great.
What’s great is even people who have predicted who it’s going to be still get caught completely off guard because it just happens so suddenly, no warning no build up. It’s nothing like any other show I’ve seen.

Anyway, im not saying it was masterpiece, and obviously you can like it or not, thats respectable. To me it was a bit disappointing because the show was so good as a whole that i think it deserved a better end, but i dont think is trash. My problem is that there are to much people who because of that throws hate at the whole show, or directly thinks is bad, when the fact is that is an incredible show, with a lot of great moments, characters and an awesome story, and people choose to not enjoy it because they dont like the end.

Ive always found it hilarious that Berthold, the quietest and most minor of minor characters, was actually the huge and intimidating colossal titan; who was, up to this point, the unofficial mascot of the series.
And at the same time when you think about it for even a minute Berthold's meekness makes total sense for the holder of the colossal when you realize he is a total sociopath.
Spoilers for season 4 @@Hawk199031 Bertholdt a sociopath? Really? His meekness came from all the guilt he was carrying, I feel like the beginning scene of season 4 episode 5 proofs that, he was guilt ridden and felt unworthy of forgiveness, a state reiner doesn’t get to until season 4 and that’s why we get to see that scene at that point, Reiner remembers Bertholdt’s words and is finally able to understand them. That’s my interpretation at least.
Sasha's "She likes sweets" observation is so underrated. If you consider how much the price of sugar would be in a society like this only nobles would have access to such things. I doubt anyone from the outter ring, where Annie claimed to be from, has tasted a sweet in their life.

Reiner and Bertholdt's transformation is one of the best scenes in the anime. The animation, voice acting, and especially music are just perfect.

Of course the original voice acting because english dub is the worst always in everything. Is very rare to find a really good voice acting in english. Mikasa sound like Marge(Simpsons) in this one lol the voice of Eren is so plain and bad performed
@ Cowboy Bebop dubs and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood dubs are legit fantastic. I had even heard before I watched them that they were gonna be good but they ended up being even better than I had expected. But yeah oftentimes the dubs don’t sound great and AoT is no exception.

@@ManateeMentality To be honest I can't really judge those shows cause I saw those in Japanese. Why I will hear an okay voice acting when I can hear an awesome top voice acting. The problem in dub you will find sometimes a really good acting voice of one character and the others are really shitty, is better to see the shows with all top tier voice acting in my opinion.
I was hoping people would notice that. There’s just nothing quite like the feeling of that moment, and I’ve waited a LONG time to show Montana. Glad u enjoyed!
The first time I watched AoT, I was slightly confused by Reiner's state of mind throughout S2. But the second time I watched it, everything made so much sense. Dude is broken inside, in so many ways. This is the only place he has ever really felt like he belonged... And it's all a lie 😭
Every warrior's bg is fucked up. People seem to care less about Berthold Of the 3 but that specific moment in S3E18, that specific line tbh, always makes me cry because I know what was going in his mind.

I wasn't trying to minimize the trauma the other warriors have been through, I was just talking about how confused I was about Reiner's split personality/mental breakdown during my first watch. Bert and Annie's motivations were much easier for me to understand.
That's actually hilarious 😂 In context, the flagpole snapping is usually a sign of a bad omen (in Eastern cultures.) Now that I finally notice the flags are red I can't see this scene the same 😭
The smartest part about the writing is how Isayama precedes this with one of the biggest reveals of the show to that point about Ymir and then starts the episode slowly with everyone just recovering. You kind of naturally let your guard down as a result and that's when he hits you with a completely gamechanging moment. Watching this when it first came out with no sense of hype ahead of time was one of the craziest experiences a lot of us ever had. It's brilliant storytelling structure and gives the first glimpse of just how intricately planned this whole story is.
I'm the opposite. Thanks to spoilers because that's what this fandom does, I knew all about this, so I let my guard down with respect to the rest of the squad. So when Ymir transformed, I basically didn't see it coming until she was leaping off the tower as her Titan body formed around her.

It took anime-only people years to find out due to the long break between Season 1 and Season 2. And already it shook the core of the fans. It took Eren around 24 hours to find out after his big fight with Annie. The sense of shock and betrayal is really deep. Come to think of it, the entirety of Season 2 happened in just a little over one day in the story.

For the inevitable comments about us needing to watch sub, we are going to soon! We just can’t on a first watch through because we both have auditory processing issues, and have to watch dub to understand what’s happening! We will watch sub scenes after we watch them in dub thought!
That's okay. We all have our own battles to face. It's great though that you plan to watch the sub afterwards because, personally, the Japanese voice acting in this series has been absolutely marvelous from Season 1 to 4. Both the great hopeful scenes and the dark terrifying scenes.

Nails on a chalkboard. The dub actually ruins the experience. The sub of this is actually amazing. The VAs are really really good and you're doing a massive disservice to yourself without those performances. Erens VA is a master.
Dub did it better honestly. In the sub I think he just sounds angry it sounds like he's just yelling out those words. In the dub I can hear the disbelief and the apprehension in his voice because of the rise in pitch English speakers do at the end of questions.
I love how reiner really just delivered it with such a straight face. "Yes we killed thousands including ur mom, wanna come?". To eren of all ppl. The kid who's sole mission is to "slaughter every titan in his way" because the armored and colossal are at fault for his mom being eaten infront of his eyes and his home being destroyed. Reiner really said head empty. No thoughts. And Berthold was just mortified lmfao
So id like to bring to light something kind of important (not spoilers) but the dub did make one crucial error here. One that isnt small and wound up confusing a lot of people and upsetting manga readers/sub. Reiners line "Remember when that titan almost crushed me?" Was changed in the dub to "Remember when Annie almost crushed me?" Reiner and Bertholdt weren't aware they learned her identity at this point.. it was kept a secret. Only a few know. They have no idea she was captured here. None. So thats kind of a huge mistake. Immediately if he said Annie, our squad would have known what was up. But yeah, at this moment Bert and Reiner have no clue that our squad captured Annie, or that our squad even knows it was her. So him saying annies name there kind of ruins the future reveal when/if they do find that out. Just...weird dub choice that mangles the story a bit
True, but it's also kind of unspoken information that Reiners group didn't know about the stohess operation, so Montana could have just filed it away as "information the viewer and most of the scouts know", they could for instance have been told during the travel from Utgard castle to the wall.

That was a mistake? really? I thought that Riener had just slipped up, which made him more suspicous to viewers. I thought it was intentional. because how would Riener someone who didn't know about the Stohess operation know the identity of the female titan? but then we understand, he knows because he knows Annie. Idk I really liked it, it felt really natural for someone to slip up like that; The same way Riener mentioned the salt water fish "Herring" in a previous episode. I don't think it mangles the story at all.
I just realized that in the dub (I can’t remember if this was in the sub but I don’t think so) Reiner says “Remember Armin? Remember how Annie nearly crushed me like an insect.” That should have been a huge clue that I think most people would completely overlook. I mean at this point nobody has told the squad Reiner was with that the female Titan was Annie, and yet he still refers to her by name.
I’ll never forget watching this episode for the first time lmao, I thought I read the subtitles wrong 😂 Also, the music that plays during Reiners transformation, ALWAYS gives me chills.
Regarding the episode that they flashback to, if you remember the scouts are ordered to put there hoods on. Reiner is the only one that can be seen with his hood off. So the female titan can recognize him.

There's actually a slight mistake in the dub where Reiner mentions Annie nearly crushed him, but he was with the other cadets away from the fighting during the operation in Stohess District, so if he wasn't a shifter, he wouldn't have known Annie was the Female Titan. Luckily seems like Montana didn't catch it.
Well, it's kind of an unspoken plotpoint, up until the flashback it's not outright said that the other scouts don't know about Annie, (though it can be inferred based on the timeline and a line from Miche in the first episode), but yes he should have said the Female Titan, that's also where it's revealed that he doesn't know Annie has been caught.
The best part of the reveal is that it's exactly how it happened in the manga. I had the same reaction as Montana when I read it, slack jawed, thinking that there was no way they would just reveal it like that.
This episode still gives me chills. Gets me emotional. The reveal was masterfully done. I had been spoiled on it and it still got me. The music and lack thereof, left me feeling even more. A+ episode.
*Silent moment* “...launched...an attack...wait can you pause it?” “Nope.” I’m such proud AoT fan watching this reaction, because I feel like most of us fans have been on both sides of that feeling at some point.🙂
The newest episodes/ending allows you to go back a rewatch everything again too. There's so much stuff going on in front of us that we are unable to comprehend at the time.

Youseebiggirl is what plays while Reiner is giving his speech and healing his arm, T:T is the one with vocals that plays the episode out. Absolutely my favorite songs in the aot soundtrack, hands down.
Looking back now, after so many rewatches,, it finally clicked to me as to why Reiner does this in that moment. I can't wait to see this when it premiers!
@@svgamer7160 A few months ago, they first witnessed Eren transform. A few days ago, Annie made her move. In Episode 3 of S2, Connie, Christa, Reiner, Bertholt, and Ymir see the Beast Titan. A short while later, Reiner and Bertholt got a devastating reminder when they saw Ymir's Titan form. You get me? Those two got a little reminder of what exactly they're supposed to be doing in a very short amount of time.
Reiner confused me so much the first time around... Now I see he is one of the most complex and interesting characters in AoT, and at this point he is completely broken inside... This is the only place he's ever felt like he truly belonged, _and it's all a lie._

The Beast showing up might not have caused him to be rash about it. He would have still tried getting Eren to join with words, but might have waited for a better moment. Warrior is up there ranked as one of the top episodes of any show of all time and near the top of all anime episodes of all time too. Ground breaking and emotional, with great music, great writing and suspense. This episode and "Hero" both

They way they did the reveal is almost backwards as to how reveals usually are. Instead of a heavy buildup and a bang, the truth comes so out of the blue that at first you don’t even comprehend what they’re saying, until it really sinks in and dread washes upon you. I love the way they the storytelling is is Attack On Titan. The writing is unmatched, the best of the best.

In the sub, Reiner never said "Annie" he said "that Titan" he didn't even say "female Titan" because at that time, Reiner, Bertholdt, Sasha and Connie weren't present during Annie's reveal. Reiner didn't know they found out Annie's identity at that moment, let alone that they captured her.
I knew going into the show who the armored and colossal were, and this reveal still caught me off guard with how causal it was. No buildup or anything.

The smartest part about the writing is how Isayama precedes this with one of the biggest reveals of the show to that point about Ymir and then starts the episode slowly with everyone just recovering. You kind of naturally let your guard down as a result and that's when he hits you with a completely gamechanging moment. Watching this when it first came out with no sense of hype ahead of time was one of the craziest experiences a lot of us ever had. It's brilliant storytelling structure and gives the first glimpse of just how intricately planned this whole story is.
I'm the opposite. Thanks to spoilers because that's what this fandom does, I knew all about this, so I let my guard down with respect to the rest of the squad. So when Ymir transformed, I basically didn't see it coming until she was leaping off the tower as her Titan body formed around her.
I'm so freaking hyped for this. Why? Up to this point Montana didn't noticed that Reiner is acting kinda weird. She is going to be so shocked.

When I saw this part in Japanese I thought my subtitle got messed up...
It took anime-only people years to find out due to the long break between Season 1 and Season 2. And already it shook the core of the fans.
It took Eren around 24 hours to find out after his big fight with Annie. The sense of shock and betrayal is really deep. Come to think of it, the entirety of Season 2 happened in just a little over one day in the story.

For the inevitable comments about us needing to watch sub, we are going to soon! We just can’t on a first watch through because we both have auditory processing issues, and have to watch dub to understand what’s happening! We will watch sub scenes after we watch them in dub thought!
That's okay. We all have our own battles to face. It's great though that you plan to watch the sub afterwards because, personally, the Japanese voice acting in this series has been absolutely marvelous from Season 1 to 4. Both the great hopeful scenes and the dark terrifying scenes.
Hopefully that'll let the people know to finally stop pestering you guys about it

The sub of this is actually amazing. The VAs are really really good and you're doing a massive disservice to yourself without those performances. Erens VA is a master.

Dub did it better honestly. In the sub I think he just sounds angry it sounds like he's just yelling out those words. In the dub I can hear the disbelief and the apprehension in his voice because of the rise in pitch English speakers do at the end of questions.

So id like to bring to light something kind of important (not spoilers) but the dub did make one crucial error here. One that isnt small and wound up confusing a lot of people and upsetting manga readers/sub.

Reiner and Bertholdt weren't aware they learned her identity at this point.. it was kept a secret. Only a few know. They have no idea she was captured here. None.
So thats kind of a huge mistake. Immediately if he said Annie, our squad would have known what was up.
But yeah, at this moment Bert and Reiner have no clue that our squad captured Annie, or that our squad even knows it was her.
So him saying annies name there kind of ruins the future reveal when/if they do find that out.

True, but it's also kind of unspoken information that Reiners group didn't know about the stohess operation, so Montana could have just filed it away as "information the viewer and most of the scouts know", they could for instance have been told during the travel from Utgard castle to the wall.

I thought that Riener had just slipped up, which made him more suspicous to viewers. I thought it was intentional. because how would Riener someone who didn't know about the Stohess operation know the identity of the female titan? but then we understand, he knows because he knows Annie. Idk I really liked it, it felt really natural for someone to slip up like that; The same way Riener mentioned the salt water fish "Herring" in a previous episode. I don't think it mangles the story at all.

I just realized that in the dub (I can’t remember if this was in the sub but I don’t think so) Reiner says “Remember Armin? Remember how Annie nearly crushed me like an insect.”
That should have been a huge clue that I think most people would completely overlook. I mean at this point nobody has told the squad Reiner was with that the female Titan was Annie, and yet he still refers to her by name.
I’ll never forget watching this episode for the first time lmao, I thought I read the subtitles wrong 😂
Also, the music that plays during Reiners transformation, ALWAYS gives me chills.

Regarding the episode that they flashback to, if you remember the scouts are ordered to put there hoods on. Reiner is the only one that can be seen with his hood off. So the female titan can recognize him.

There's actually a slight mistake in the dub where Reiner mentions Annie nearly crushed him, but he was with the other cadets away from the fighting during the operation in Stohess District, so if he wasn't a shifter, he wouldn't have known Annie was the Female Titan. Luckily seems like Montana didn't catch it.

Well, it's kind of an unspoken plotpoint, up until the flashback it's not outright said that the other scouts don't know about Annie, (though it can be inferred based on the timeline and a line from Miche in the first episode), but yes he should have said the Female Titan, that's also where it's revealed that he doesn't know Annie has been caught.

The best part of the reveal is that it's exactly how it happened in the manga. I had the same reaction as Montana when I read it, slack jawed, thinking that there was no way they would just reveal it like that.

This episode hits differently after season 4
This episode still gives me chills. Gets me emotional. The reveal was masterfully done. I had been spoiled on it and it still got me. The music and lack thereof, left me feeling even more. A+ episode.
When I first saw the reveal, I laughed for 10 mins while rewatching it. I loved how casual it was its so funny

@@svgamer7160 A few months ago, they first witnessed Eren transform. A few days ago, Annie made her move. In Episode 3 of S2, Connie, Christa, Reiner, Bertholt, and Ymir see the Beast Titan. A short while later, Reiner and Bertholt got a devastating reminder when they saw Ymir's Titan form. You get me? Those two got a little reminder of what exactly they're supposed to be doing in a very short amount of time.
Reiner confused me so much the first time around... Now I see he is one of the most complex and interesting characters in AoT, and at this point he is completely broken inside... This is the only place he's ever felt like he truly belonged, _and it's all a lie._

I actually don’t remember the reveal at all, watching bertholdt cry after being attacked by Mikasa/transforming oh god that says many things
They way they did the reveal is almost backwards as to how reveals usually are. Instead of a heavy buildup and a bang, the truth comes so out of the blue that at first you don’t even comprehend what they’re saying, until it really sinks in and dread washes upon you. I love the way they the storytelling is is Attack On Titan. The writing is unmatched, the best of the best.

In the sub, Reiner never said "Annie" he said "that Titan" he didn't even say "female Titan" because at that time, Reiner, Bertholdt, Sasha and Connie weren't present during Annie's reveal. Reiner didn't know they found out Annie's identity at that moment, let alone that they captured her.
I also noticed this in DUB. Pretty sure it was wrong dubbing but it do not affect much in the sequence of events.
