righttttt i watch a bunch of reactions because i can't wipe my memory and watch the show for the first time, but that scene always punches me in the gut and i shed some tears. i wasn't hype at all, i was just sad 😂
Btw a cool detail about Reiner and Berthold’s betrayal. When they were transforming they felt so much regret that they couldn’t even bare to look at Eren while doing it. Just shows that they kinda treasured the time they had together. And I just bought patreon btw, didn’t know u were this far ahead 💀💀but I enjoyed it. Can’t wait for the rest of the reactions.
Just to give you guys some perspective, all of this happened just a day after they found out about Annie, so Eren is in pure denial that Reiner was what they said he was because he was a big brother to him
This episode had me down and out for a whole week haha. I’ve been waiting for this review since you guys started. Such a tear jerker. What’s crazy is going back through season 1 and rewatching it there are very small bits of dialogue dropped by Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie that hint at them being titans that nobody would be able to pick up on without that info beforehand. Blows my mind how well done this show is.
There is a bunch of information throughout the series that actually lets us know. It's just so cleverly hidden in. I always said rewatching AoT the second time is better than the first time.
@@TheReactPack notice that back in the castle episodes when the castle starts falling with the 104th on top, Berthold is briefly seen with his hand raised to his mouth like he's about to bite and transform to save himself as a reflex but of course never does that. DAMN! Finally, reactors that actually cried like I did when I watched this part for the first time! It's such a heartbreaking moment, and it came so out of nowhere, too!
I have watched many reactions of this ep , and everyone was exited and screaming and raging with happiness and shocked of what happened ; while you are the first ones to really understand eren and reiner' feelings and be sad about it
Reiner’s speech all the way through their transformation with the music slapping in the back gives me the CHILLS 😱 The entire end of this episode is mesmerizing.

yeah Attack On Titan is a great show for going back & rewatch when you have more answers, you see so many hints then that you didn't pick up on the first time watching (a simple one is the one mentioned in this episode that Reiner asked about Eren and then Annie changed direction) Also it was worth to get patreon for the month to see this reaction, the greatest reaction so far :)

As said before. Keep your cleanex close for the following episodes and seasons. It's gonna be a wild ride! And we gonna be here watching you through it! 🤓
I was speechless at the end of this episode the first time I watched. Isayama is an amazing storyteller! Definitely watch again for all the foreshadowing.

Annie: I'm a Titan Ymir: I'm a Titan Eren: Oh really, she's a Titan, you're a Titan, I'M A TITAN, Is there someone else a Titan? Reiner and Berthold: ...👀 (Spongebob Refrence 😂)
When the tower was falling the camera pans at Bert about to bite his hand; they put it in plain sight for all of us to see knowing majority of people wouldn’t catch on…. I can see now why a bunch of episodes from AoT are in the top 10 of greatest episodes of all time (includes live actions series too)
I couldn’t help but chuckle and simultaneously cry when you were talking about why they are doing this and what’s happening... I will just say that it is a long road to the truth of the Titans
My god Sam it made me tear up seeing you so devastated.. Just imagine what goes through Erens head, knowing his two comrades and so called close friends are the sole reason for his moms death and the destruction of wall maria.. His thought process must be going wild, trying to accept the fact that they are the ones. It's almost like Eren was betting that it would be a joke/lie. Amazing reaction guys, stay strong.. Eren: Anyways, while i was.. Reiner: I'm the armored titan and he's the colossal Eren: What Reiner: What Sam: What?
Finally someone who loves Reiner 😍 I cried too. Because I loved his character so much and he turned out to be bad. I couldn't believe it. But then you come to know about things....
_"much and he turned out to be bad"_ Well, that's the thing. Good and bad are faaaaar more nuanced in AoT than most people think. I don't know how far you are in the story, but I wouldn't be so quick to call _anyone_ good or bad yet.
@@Timjer92 I completed the manga too. I just didnt spoil it for everyone. I was disappointed because at THAT moment it seemed like he was on the bad side. That's what I meant.
There are a ton of hints throughout the first season (and a bit in the first few episodes of the second before this ep) pointing towards them being titans like conversations with double meanings, steam coming off Reiner when hes running away from the Female titan after he broke out, Bertolt and Reiners expressions when everyone saw the beast titan were more shock and awe than terror and there was even a scene with Eren at the start where steam was coming off of his head after he flipped and slammed his head into the ground while practicing to use odm gear back in like episode 2 or 3 so while this may seem very left field everything is so well thought out and thats what I love the most about this show.
This is where the word "traitor" that Eren screamed out right at the end feels more painful and real after all that has happened... This is still, one of the biggest anime reveals that shook the anime world when it aired.
Love people who love Reiner and Berthold, it's so obvious that they're not bad people. People who hate on them don't know how psyche works and just ignore the parts where Reiner for example puts his life on line for his friends and deeply cares for them (the Connie shoulder pat)
"I'm so confused" - that's why Eren didn't react either. As the audience, it's just as hard to believe for us as it is for Eren, and we're questioning whether it's really true, despite him openly telling us. You're wondering why Eren didn't react at all, but you're not certatin whether it's actually true yourself. The writer did a good job of portraying how things don't "hit" you, until you actually EXPERIENCE them.
I hope this help to the beautifull Morgan-Sama Morgan 16:00 "why would Reiner save those people if he has to wipeout humanity anyway" Reiner 7:07 "Our primary goal "was" to ensure all humanity "was" wiped out but "now" there is no need for that" "If you agree to come with us, we won't have to destroy any more of the walls"
Stumbled across your early attack on titan videos and just invested hours watching ya'll react to particular episodes. THIS was definitely an episode I REALLY wanted to see you both react to! I love how invest ya'll are in this! I can't wait to see more reactions!
I can't wait for you guys to get to the final season where all your questions are gonna be answered. You guys are in for a treat. "Declaration of War" is such a masterpiece episode, without a doubt one of the best anime episode of all times.
"Hey bro, do you remember that event in which your mom died? Well yeah, I kinda did it... well, not kinda, I really did it... my fault. But hey, no hard feelings, right?"
Season 1 Episode 3: When Eren was talking to the other cadets about the Armored Titan, the camera cuts straight to Reiner. Season 1 Episode 5: When Eren is arguing with Jean, you can see Bertold in the background looking all exhausted, probably due to his recent transformation. Season 2 Episode 5: When Titan Ymir jumps at the tower and asks the others to grab on her, you can see that Bertold was about to bite his hand.
The GOAT plot twist, in my opinion. Looking back, all the pieces were there. Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt were all skipped in the scene breaking scouts in, the only 3 skipped besides the trio that saw Eren's mom die. Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt were super vocal & willing about not letting Eren get eaten back when no one knew it was Eren's Attack Titan. Reiner surviving getting crushed in Annie's hand, especially because steam was being released from his body. Reiner realizing Ymir can read language from outside the walls. Ymir's look when she noticed how surprised Reiner and Bertholdt are when they see the Beast Titan, clearly distinct from the rest. Bertholdt *almost biting his hand* when Ymir knocked the tower down And JFC.... Even in one of the first episodes, the camera changes from a wide shot of all the scouts to just Reiner when the Armored Titan is mentioned, and then to Bertholdt when the Colossal Titan is mentioned. Seriously what the fuck, it's so distinct. And yet.... Neither a single person doing reacts to it, nor anyone I knew watching it, had anything but sheet amazement at what the just heard when Reiner drops the bomb. From the explicit reveal, to Reiner unwrapping his rapidly-healing arm, to Bertholdt's "right here, right now?", to Mikasa cutting off Reiner's arm and making Bertholdt gurgle his own blood, and then finally them transforming..... it's just the best
@@tserenne the part 2 of season 3 its amazing and the begin of Season 4, but the season 2 was that most surprise me! The Beast Titan, Ymir, Reiner and Berthorld, The Wall, Historia Weiss and more things that will coming!
I’ve watched many reactions to this episode and yours was the best! People reacting are usually talking a lot and guessing things as the very scene and conversation is happening in front of them (i know thats the point but bear with me). But honestly, during this episode its impossible not to sit quietly in shock and absorb as much info as possible while reading intensively and trying to just understand what the fuck is happening. I couldnt even form theories, my eyes were glued on the scene, my ears straining to hear every possible sound and mind racing. All i could do was just say “what the fuck” “oh shit” “oh no” or similar just like you guys did. And the fact that you registered this as something to cry and think deeply about rather than cheer for a fight or be “hype” about it cause its crazy af speaks a lot cuz i think those are the feelings that this whole episode is trying to convey. And silently sitting at the end in misery is sooo reletable that was me and my friend also😂
This episode is one of the best animation or best episodes i have seen in any anime so far the tension, the music and animation is gold. Then ofcourse the reveal of the traitors is so good!
Thank you!!!! I also cried on this episode. Reiner was my favorite and it really broke my heart when I saw Eren crying. People get angry or excited... I was sobbing
6:35 I'm already out of breath and my cheeks about to start aching "Yeah, tell them about... " YEAH, TELL 'EM 16:30 "we were just kids... we didn't know" "If I'd known there were people like this..."
the song during the reveal is Vogel Im Kafig if anyone wants to know, im not german so i dunno if the accents are good but i was surprised to find out that the singers were all japanese and it sounded soooo fucking good
FINALLY!!! Whatever reason they might have, it still doesn’t erase the fact that they murdered innocent people, at least Annie knew not to get attached to anyone because she knew the weight of being a ‘warrior’ disguised as a soldier. Reiner and Bertorld were befriending the people whose families they massacred. Any reasoning doesn’t justify their actions. But you will understand why they did it.
I don't get why some people don't understand why Eren is crying, Reiner was someone that Eren looked up to and wanted to emulate, he wanted to be strong like Reiner and Reiner was everyone's big brother in the 104th. Imagine one day learning that one of the person closest to you, a person you admire and love, was responsible for all the suffering in your life, responsible for the deaths of your friends, family, and comrades(His mom, Marco, Armin's grandpa, Mina, Thomas, Petra, Ouluo, Gunther, Eldo, etc) and tell me you wouldn't also feel heartbroken and conflicted with this information that'll show this beloved person in a diabolical light.
I hope you both packed your bags, because this twisty feels train doesn’t stop from here on now until the end of the series. It gets even MORE INCREDIBLE. You have no idea 🙂
The episode where me and my siblings collectively died lol Such an amazingly paced and well revealed twist. It was all there we just didn’t pay close attention.
I cried at this episode. Reiner was my fav. The betrayal was too much. The music was overwhelming. 🥺🥺🥺 such a great episode. The flashbacks killed me. 😭😭😭 On rewatches and reactions, the fact that Eren was looking them in the eyes when they turn is heartbreaking as well. At that moment, he lost two friends. And Bertholdt has a regretful look too. 🥺🥺
I've watched a lot of reactions recently because I can't let go of the show after finishing it, and you're my kind of people. I was quite sure that Reiner and Bertolt were titans from all the foreshadowing hints, but the way it was played was still surprising, and the buildup was intense, lots of symbolism and great cinematography. But most importantly, you're my kind of people because you were sad, not hyped about the epic fight-to-come. I was sad too, even though I saw the betrayal coming, but having it happen right in front of me, seeing Eren hope against hope that it wasn't true, seeing how Reiner's mental state is deteriorating, watching Bertolt helplessly suffering (which is pretty much his theme). Oh man. It was heartbreaking.
I gotta give credit to The React Pack. They love Attack on Titan. No matter what they see on the show is all about a series of twists and turns. I didn't mention drama; so I'm sorry. I didn't know. I gotta love❤Sam, Morgan, and others who join the pack. I wish I was next.
yarundana!? ima kokode!? (we're doing it right? here? now!?) and KONO URAGIRI MONO GAAAAA!! ( you fucking traitors!!) are two of my fav dialogues from this entire show.
The accepted reason Reiner is so casual with Erin is that they genuinely, truly, think of him as a close friend, and it's clashing with their stated goal of destroying humanity within the walls. He doesn't know how to mentally process it.
Dude I was exactly you guys. Reiner was one of my favorites. My husband had watched it before me and I kept telling him stuff like, “Aw I love Reiner, and I hope he marries Historia.” Lmao

Not really sure how you can blame people though, especially with the info they have available. I think it's perfectly natural to think it's a simple good vs evil tale at this point
Estúpido. Le acabas de arruinar la 4ta temporada a las chicas.
Love how you guys are actually upset during the transformation scene, most reactors were just hyped as hell (nothing wrong with that) it’s really nice to see a different reaction
righttttt i watch a bunch of reactions because i can't wipe my memory and watch the show for the first time, but that scene always punches me in the gut and i shed some tears. i wasn't hype at all, i was just sad 😂
Welcome to our patreon, glad to have you! 🥲And it really was all very heartbreaking. -Sam
Just to give you guys some perspective, all of this happened just a day after they found out about Annie, so Eren is in pure denial that Reiner was what they said he was because he was a big brother to him
Also he was somewhat close to Annie too even though she was so reserved, the anime doesn’t showcase that too well but the manga does
@@beyondviolet I mean she sorta taught him how to fight.
@@mickys333 we got like two short scenes lol
@@simonefrongia3115 yeah
This episode had me down and out for a whole week haha. I’ve been waiting for this review since you guys started. Such a tear jerker. What’s crazy is going back through season 1 and rewatching it there are very small bits of dialogue dropped by Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie that hint at them being titans that nobody would be able to pick up on without that info beforehand. Blows my mind how well done this show is.
Agh deff will have to go back and rewatch! I need to see what I missed -Morgan
There are A LOT of hella subtle hints that become obvious once you know.
This is definitely one of those episodes you have to watch more than once.
DAMN! Finally, reactors that actually cried like I did when I watched this part for the first time! It's such a heartbreaking moment, and it came so out of nowhere, too!
Morgan: Reiner, tell Eren about the Sasquatch!
Reiner: I can't, but I'll tell him about the Armored and Colossal Titans.
I have watched many reactions of this ep , and everyone was exited and screaming and raging with happiness and shocked of what happened ; while you are the first ones to really understand eren and reiner' feelings and be sad about it
i never get tired of watching reactions to this episode
Reiner’s speech all the way through their transformation with the music slapping in the back gives me the CHILLS 😱 The entire end of this episode is mesmerizing.
Gave me goosebumps watching this. The pain is serious.
Just a good stab in the heart -Morgan
A lot of people were waiting for this one. The series is full throttle from here.
P.S. Dani, great job on the flashback editing over their faces. LOL.
"AnImE iS jUsT a CaRtOoN", "iTs JuSt FoR kIdS"!
HECK NO I NEED THIS -Morgan
Both morgan and sam need a hug from this episode this episode was a roller coaster.
The emotion was to real it was crazy
if they thought this episode was heartbreaking then ohhhh boy lol
@@johans3164 I know it's going to be crazy for them lol
Once your caught up with aot or finish the anime since it’s the last season, you guys should rewatch it in your own time there’s a lot of foreshadowing involved in the eps, openings, and endings. Right now you wouldn’t understand it! Amazing reaction!
I will definitely be going back to rewatch it! -Sam
You’ll be caught up in time for the final part of the final season
this is one of those episodes where you feel like you can hardly breathe while watching it. those become more and more common as we keep moving forward. great reaction!
yeah Attack On Titan is a great show for going back & rewatch when you have more answers, you see so many hints then that you didn't pick up on the first time watching (a simple one is the one mentioned in this episode that Reiner asked about Eren and then Annie changed direction)
Also it was worth to get patreon for the month to see this reaction, the greatest reaction so far :)
Yay!! So happy you enjoyed it!! Right yes there’s always something more to catch! -Morgan
Sam's reaction is the best reaction to this scene i have seen! Honest and real. The fact that you get so emotionally really shows that you are paying good attention and care for the show.
The tears just started, AoT was made to break hearts.
Season 4 is gonna be fun for these guys
Finally... after a week of binge watching... it was worth it, and there's still so much to come. Love you guys, one of the best reactions channel out here ♥
Top tier content 👌😅 shout out to the editor too killed it haha
Dani edited this one. I think she had fun with it haha -Sam
Annie: I'm a Titan
Ymir: I'm a Titan
Eren: Oh really, she's a Titan, you're a Titan, I'M A TITAN, Is there someone else a Titan?
Reiner and Berthold: ...👀
(Spongebob Refrence 😂)
what was the original?
When the tower was falling the camera pans at Bert about to bite his hand; they put it in plain sight for all of us to see knowing majority of people wouldn’t catch on…. I can see now why a bunch of episodes from AoT are in the top 10 of greatest episodes of all time (includes live actions series too)
I couldn’t help but chuckle and simultaneously cry when you were talking about why they are doing this and what’s happening... I will just say that it is a long road to the truth of the Titans
Ah man, peoples reaction to this betrayal never gets old.
One of the top 10 anime betrayal of all time.
You guys are the only couple of people that understand the emotional aspects of this scene, not just the “hype” or action
Reiner: I'm the armored titan and he's the colossal
Eren: What
Reiner: What
Sam: What?
When the episode was just posted today but there are comments from a month ago:
Whose memories are these?
Haven't seen too many reactors tear up to this very emotional scene. Definitely watching your reactions all the way to the last AOT episode. LETS GO!
Finally someone who loves Reiner 😍 I cried too. Because I loved his character so much and he turned out to be bad. I couldn't believe it. But then you come to know about things....
I loved him from start to finish
_"much and he turned out to be bad"_
Well, that's the thing. Good and bad are faaaaar more nuanced in AoT than most people think. I don't know how far you are in the story, but I wouldn't be so quick to call _anyone_ good or bad yet.
Finally? huh?
@@Timjer92 I completed the manga too. I just didnt spoil it for everyone. I was disappointed because at THAT moment it seemed like he was on the bad side. That's what I meant.
@@angelbedolla347 Yeah finally because everyone hates Reiner once he reveals himself. They root for Mikasa to kill him 😒
There are a ton of hints throughout the first season (and a bit in the first few episodes of the second before this ep) pointing towards them being titans like conversations with double meanings, steam coming off Reiner when hes running away from the Female titan after he broke out, Bertolt and Reiners expressions when everyone saw the beast titan were more shock and awe than terror and there was even a scene with Eren at the start where steam was coming off of his head after he flipped and slammed his head into the ground while practicing to use odm gear back in like episode 2 or 3 so while this may seem very left field everything is so well thought out and thats what I love the most about this show.
This is where the word "traitor" that Eren screamed out right at the end feels more painful and real after all that has happened... This is still, one of the biggest anime reveals that shook the anime world when it aired.
ONE OF THE BEST SCENE IN ANIME HISTORY 🔥
I hope this help to the beautifull Morgan-Sama
Morgan 16:00 "why would Reiner save those people if he has to wipeout humanity anyway"
Reiner 7:07 "Our primary goal "was" to ensure all humanity "was" wiped out but "now" there is no need for that"
"If you agree to come with us, we won't have to destroy any more of the walls"
Stumbled across your early attack on titan videos and just invested hours watching ya'll react to particular episodes.
THIS was definitely an episode I REALLY wanted to see you both react to!
I love how invest ya'll are in this! I can't wait to see more reactions!
In case you didn't notice, at 2:10 Bertoltototo was about to bite his hand :(
I can't wait for you guys to get to the final season where all your questions are gonna be answered. You guys are in for a treat. "Declaration of War" is such a masterpiece episode, without a doubt one of the best anime episode of all times.
I too cried .. they didn't mention the greatness about music 😢
First time I've seen someone cry at the end of the episode, usually it's hype, frustration and anger. Love your videos!
Bertholdt *almost biting his hand* when Ymir knocked the tower down
And JFC....
For me until now this was the best episode from the all serie.

Siiiiii. Finalmente.
2人とも優しいね。
ここで泣くんじゃ、涙が幾らあっても

6:46 the moment of Reiner and Bertolt casual revelation
11:51 Bertolt's cut is the same angle as he looked at Eren when he transformed into a Titan in S1E4.
6:35 I'm already out of breath and my cheeks about to start aching
"Yeah, tell them about... " YEAH, TELL 'EM
16:30 "we were just kids... we didn't know" "If I'd known there were people like this..."
This is some Oscar worthy editing. It adds so much to the video!
the song during the reveal is Vogel Im Kafig if anyone wants to know, im not german so i dunno if the accents are good but i was surprised to find out that the singers were all japanese and it sounded soooo fucking good
It's YOUSEEBIGGIRL:TT not vogel im kafig, vogel im kafig is the first version while YOUSEEBIGGIRL:TT was the remixed one
Everytime i watch this episode or watch someone react to it my heart pump's really fast.
Thank you for crying, I love Reiner too.I'm looking forward to seeing Season 4 of you.🙌👏👏👏
I don't get why some people don't understand why Eren is crying, Reiner was someone that Eren looked up to and wanted to emulate, he wanted to be strong like Reiner and Reiner was everyone's big brother in the 104th.
14:55 that “oh” is an exasperated idk what else to say right now, I’m weakkkk 💀😂
This is the most heartfelt reaction for this episode I've seen thus far. Not just blown minds but also genuine heartbreak... 😰😰
The first time i watched it, it broke my heart too :(
I hope you both packed your bags, because this twisty feels train doesn’t stop from here on now until the end of the series.

Reiner and bertholdth's betrayal is so sad and know knowing where they r coming from and their reasons makes it feel worse.

I have come back to this episode to give myself comfort because the last episode made my feel sad no tears just empty
Dude I was exactly you guys. Reiner was one of my favorites. My husband had watched it before me and I kept telling him stuff like, “Aw I love Reiner, and I hope he marries Historia.” Lmao
