Humans are such a dynamic team to play!
I always build a Catcher as a free safety (Wrestle then Tackle then either Strip Ball or Dauntless). When going against High Agility teams putting him center-mid of my half generally discourages my opponent from even attempting a quick score. With movement 8 he can blitz any square in my half without needing to rush and should generally be able to get an assist from some direction.

Awesome 😁 my guys don't use an Ogre but I've been playing slight variations of these formations anyway and found the 4 Blitzers, once they have guard, do the heavy lifting just fine. It's all about being surgical with them, as opposed to just murdering everyone like a bashier team would.
    Cheers Ben!

With the Anchor, do you ever put your Ogre immediately behind the line of scrimmage? That way when they push back your linemen, they have to think twice about following up.

The defences are very useful, but none really address a Lizardman opponent, where you are defending against a ST4 scrimmage but also dealing with skinks trying to drop down the flanks for a scoring threat. Would be interested in thoughts

Man, I’ve been playing for 5 years and I still don’t really know how to deal with lizardmen

@@johnharder6380 Late reply, but honestly, its Skink hunting. If you kill kill the skinks early you can reliably force them to score early into their drive. If you manage this you can reliably score 2-1.

@@colprom Against Lizardmen you want to defend first. They will probably score fast. But that still leaves you plenty of time. And you can try to focus attack skinks.
As on defense you are getting at least 2 more people to hit them with. Ideally you want to have a good reserve and use sacrificial solo linemen to tie up their 4 crocodile guys.
Then you get 7 free people to hit some kinks. you should be able to blitz a skink with 2-3 men every turn. If you use your ogre well you might even get a croc stunned or KOd.
But if you can give up a point early to take one 1-2 skinks then they probably won't be able to stop your counter offensive so you have a good chance of going into halftime 1-1.
If you don't manage to score then or don't have enough time for it to be feasible. You can just play keep away with the ball and keep skink hunting and go for a Tie at least.
I have trouble beating Lizardmen. But I can consistently Tie them at least.
Being able to actually win kind of relies on the luck of taking down enough skinks early enough and not losing many of your own people. Usually you lose 1 linemen to a KO or injury if you play good. But, if you lose more and don't KO at least two slinks then the second half can be pretty hard.

P.S. The skinks can dodge through almost anything even better than most elves. So rather than using a screen. You want to just try to funnel them to the edge and have a good reserve nearby. Then you hit them with 2-3 people in a blitz and try to take them down or run them against the wall to surf them. They can try running from that. With two they probably will be able to get out. With three on them you can make a wall and they usually can't get out. Or if they do get out they can only go backwards. So, in about 2 turns you can surf them that way. They are fragile enough that even a single blitzer can get lucky and KO one. And has a decent chance of at least knocking down or stunning.

Hi, Ben! I'm in Playoffs with Humans and I got a chance of face a Lizardmen team with a two times Stat upgraded AG+2 /MA9 Skink. The Lizardmen coach has won all his games, grinding 2-1 victories, with long and layered cages protecting the "elf" skink. 4 of his Saurus have MB/Block, also. Could you give me some strat advice in case I have to play against him? I have and Ogre with Guard, 2 Blitzers MB/tackle, 2 Blitzers Guard. And 1 Halfling with Sneaky Git. I have been thinking on hire 2 more Halflings to throw in to the cage and then blitz... or Helmut Wulf, or Morg and Thorgg... a bit of all. Any advice Will be very welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Aren't these set ups illegal? You have to have at least 2 players on either side line?

The only obligation is to have atleast 3 players in the center Zone directly at the line of scrimmage.
