    I would love a show on the viability of ‘big guys’ carrying the ball.

    I have played Elven teams under many iterations of BB and found your variant of heavy flank a little timid. :)
    My standard receiving formation is called "the queue" and aims to a) release a couple of catchers downfield b) create a pocket at or near halfway in one wide zone c) get a thrower, with the ball safely into that pocket... Nothing else. To do this two catcher are in the chosen wide zone, on or near halfway the remaining catchers, both blitzers and a lineman are in the column nearest that WZ. The other linemen provide 2 of the three mandatory scrimmagers and support / join the queue. Finally the throwers are in the standard two deep kick receiving positions.

      Amazing!! I'll have to run that formation out!! 😁

    I actually use the wide offense quite often with dwarfs. The heavy presence of tackle pieces makes dodging through that line on a blitz a very daunting prospect.
    Typically I push the opponent's linemen along the line so that they are not free without dodging away on their turn. I typically take kick off return on dwarf runners, it makes them essentially move 9 on the first turn. If it's a shallow kick he will easily scoop up the ball and make it to the line of guards which basically holds firm on turn 1. On a deep kick the players on the side opposite the ball will fall back and form a new screen to protect the runner based on his new position. It's only against very fast teams where I commit more to the backfield, I won't let my runner get dog piled by rats or wood elves.

    good content. looking forward to seeing some race specific options too. eg. Goblins, which secret weapons go on offense vs defense and where you place them.

    Great video very informative. As a skaven player myself i find you strategy a bit odd but i will wait until you do the race videos to judge. 2 throwers i always find risky in one drive as your opponent may target them and you might suffer later in the game. I say have 2 but keep one as a reserve.

    I need help with rule clarifying. Jumping over players.
    Unless you have leap or pogo stick you have to have at least 2 movement left (or go for it) and must go over a prone or stunned player. If you have those skills you still need to have the 2 movement and you have to go two squares but the square you go over can have a standing player or be empty. Also, I assume you can jump/leap over players of either team.
    If someone would advise me it would be appreciated. Please and thanks!

    When you do by race any chance humans could be one of the first? It would be good seeing as they are the best team for beginners. Thanks
    Also, after this video series you can also do 7s set ups. Probably wait on that for official rules.

      @Suiken44 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Humans are my favorite team but I don’t agree that they are best for beginners. They require you to be flexible in your strategy which requires experience as a player. The teams with 1-2 strategies are far better suited to beginners.

      Chaos and elves are for beginners. Chaos, destroy the opposition and score. Elves, even if you are destroyed you can potentially score with just 3 elves on the field.

    • @ryangriffiths5179
      @ryangriffiths5179 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JesusProtects the reason I said that they are for beginners is because they are easiest to explain the rules to. The have the two key skills (block and dodge) and the rest give rerolls (pass / catch). Maybe not easiest to win with as a beginner but the best to use to teach with.

    This is really useful. I wish GW or someone would create a document or book that would basically be a playbook of general and team specific plays and strategies current to second season. Team build, mercenary builds and even dice stats would be useful as well. Enough of the rant. Thanks for these videos they really help those getting into blood bowl.

    On the 5-4-2 the D is set up on 345 and O is on 23456. When you talk about D setting up wider you adjust. I assume it doesn’t matter if D moves 3 to 1 or 2 I adjust by moving 3 to 1. So it would be D 1or2 3 6or 7 and O 12467. Is that correct?

    I think you missed the kick off Result throw a rock. This is the reason i always place 2 ballhandlers in the middle 6th and 8th square to have one ballhandler left, when the other goes down, he most likeley will collect the ball with mv6+.

    • @Suiken44
