"I don't know why I have to discuss it with you" sent an ice cold dagger straight into my heart after her daughter lovingly, nearly pleadingly asked for her mom's opinion. I know this is a 9 minute video but in my opinion, she barely deserves to have the title of "mother"; she's merely birthed a naturally beautiful woman, Victoria. I can only speculate that this "mother" must have bullied and pressured Victoria her whole life about her weight, and never gave her the unconditional love and support a mother should. Poor Victoria seems to seek validation from her as she's likely never gotten it before. The cherry on top is mom is the best kind of critic - one that has nothing positive to say, yet offers no alternatives or suggestions when asked her idea of what she'd like to see - only spews negativity and ice cold disdain and malice. I am honestly shocked at her coldness and cruelty. If I could talk to Victoria directly I'd say: You are naturally stunning, and I thought you looked stunning in every dress you tried on, and dress three actually took my breath away and brought me to tears. Focus on YOUR OWN style and COMFORT. Mom should maybe take a few pages out of your book and lay off the lip fillers and botox. It broke my heart you did not return for the dress you loved. But it's not about me, or your mom - PLEASE buy the dress YOU love and want. x

She looks and sounds like she’s from Eastern Europe. Old school moms from that region are very much like this. Very blunt and can come off cold. They’re also very fixed on their appearance and what other people think of them (that includes their kids and what impression they make for them). My mom is just like this, always fixed on how I look and my weight. She would put me on diets starting at a very young age like 10 years old and above. She always would make comments on my appearance and tell me I need to wear certain things, do up my hair and my makeup… Even just to go to the grocery store. It’s just how they were brought up…
It definitely sucks because I spent my entire life centered around trying to please my mom. You just finally get to a certain point where you just have to stop caring because it’s never gonna happen.
That being said… This is just the way that they show love. My mom absolutely loves me and would do anything for me. It just doesn’t come out that way to everyone sometimes. This mom is probably the same exact way, it just comes out differently.

She got married in 2013 in a kind of modern Jewish ceremony in a form fitted holderneck dress being ca 6 months pregnant. The ivory dress was made out of a beautiful pattern type material , it looked as if bubbles were flying into each other (apology not the best description) She seemed extremely happy (and so did her husband) and guess what „dearest mummy“ wore a black fur type Bolero and a slinky leopard animal print dress. That mother with her lip fillers or botox that does not allow her to move her mouth, needs to stay home when this sweet bride looks for her dress. When my daughter got married, I kept my normally strong opinions to myself. Only when she asked my thoughts did I answer. The only thing that I couldn't control was when she walked out in one of the dresses, I started to cry; that dress was the only one that caused that reaction in me. I didn't want that to influence her decision but she did end of choosing that dress. When we met with the baker of the cake, he said that I was the best mother that he had ever worked with. He said I offered opinions but stepped back when my daughter made decisions. He said he wished that all the mothers were like me. I will add that I am not normally the type of mom that keeps her opinions to herself. 😏

✨💖✨I can so relate to this young bride. I was in a yearlong Army training program, so who had time? That was my excuse to avoid a miserable wedding dress shopping experience with relatives. So I got my wedding dress through a Gunne Sax catalogue-yeah, it was that long ago. It wasn’t until I got out of the Army that I developed a weight problem, weighing in at almost 300lbs before weight loss surgery. I’ve learned that the problem with obesity is complex, and there is no one path to getting to your healthier life. However, a strong need to please others and getting approval, along with standing up for yourself is one common problem that almost all struggling with obesity need to learn about and tackle. It’s hard. Having weight loss surgery and losing 100 lbs are only a the first few steps this bride is taking to secure a happy and healthy and secure future. It’s wonderful that she will have a mate there to support her. I wish her and her future spouse all the best.
