What I can't understand is why people spend so damn much on weddings period- I've calculated costs, and even with a dress, we're looking at spending less than 2k TOTAL, and that's with everything including food.
Yikes at some of these prices! 😬

@@TrinhNguyen-sh4fjI don’t think thats really a double standard because the reality is that every bride wants the groom to like the dress. Brides just want - and should - get the final decision since they are the ones wearing it. But that has little to do with this video, she just wanted to make sure he’d back her decision about spending money.

Her fiancé clearly has the right priorities. He cares more about how she feels than controlling her decisions. The fact that they both have that amount of respect for each other to talk about any financial decisions like adults and are willing to be fair to each other shows that they'll make it.

@@MsJubjubbird absolutely, but my point is that he was rational and fair to her regardless, and he wasn't a jerk about it. A lot of times you see family members who are paying that either won't put their foot down and the bride only cares about what she wants, or the person paying for it is being unfair and making demands about a day that isn't even for them. I'm just happy that they had an adult conversation about it.

I dunno... my late husband made me very happy throughout the 24 years we had together and every time I hesitated over purchasing something for me, he always said "go for it! Get it! You deserve it! I want you to have it!" I don't want much, have always been a minimalist by inclination (if I don't have it, I don't have to dust it, wash it, maintain it, etc) but every now and then, I would feel an irrational attraction to something and he was always there to enable me.
It wasn't always a big ticket item--it could be something like hesitating over a jar of Dundee marmalade at the store, which I love and he just didn't like at all (guess it's an acquired taste). If I so much as slowed down going past the marmalade, he'd be grabbing at the Dundee marmalade to put it in the cart and telling me "you love it, you know you do and I love to watch you eat it on toast!"

There is lots of things we don't get to see, so I presume dresses the consultant was pulling were according an input the bride was giving her, however, I don't feel they were the best fit for her body type, her personality, nor wedding venue/team. She presents herself as simple, down to earth, country girl with matching taste and requirements when it comes to the dress. She is very slim and can pull off pretty much anything, but the dresses she was put in were for slightly fuller and curvier, lusher figure and for more formal, glamorous, even evening wedding. The bride wanted simple and comfortable, the sister wanted strapless lace - hardly something too difficult to find, or very fashionista. Nice, lacy, flowy, light and airy boho dress would suit far better bride's slender figure, her youthful, natural vibe and small country wedding. It would be something that suit her visually, fits great, is comfortable, fits the wedding theme and satisfies sister's requirements. The dress she ended up with is too formal and serious for her, does nothing for her figure and it doesn't fit country wedding theme. She is lovely, sweet girl and she did look beautiful regardless. I just feel she could do much better.

  • @mariahillenbrand8396

Why is it that there's always 1 "fashionista" in every entourage that thinks that they know everything about fashion abd completely disregards what the BRIDE ACTUALLY WANTS!! After all, SHE'S THE ONE WEARING THE DRESS!!!

I'd be a wreck knowing I'd have to continue losing weight before my wedding. It's stressful enough having to plan a wedding so having to lose weight on top of that can sometimes be impossible.

Too bad she just didn't get married on her tractor in jeans. This is someone who has her own farm already. She's feeding us city slickers so if she wants to walk down an aisle made of stitched denim jeans, go head.

I like how the bride said it's going to be a small wedding of 100 people lmao but I was like well they're probably both from farming families and those tend to be huge (I say this from firsthand experience, my mom's side are from a farming background and there's a ton of them lmao I meet more cousins every time I go to a family reunion)
