The game already makes melee interruptions one of the best ways to deal with being surrounded by hunters, I'm sure with a big enough boost some people will notice a massive boost to how often they manage to survive those moments
Gonna sound silly, but I'm glad there are less weapons being released in this warbond than in previous ones. We need serious rebalances for some, and complete overhauls for others. Also, the idea of camo skins is cool.
Honestly, I think this is how they should do warbonds. Fewer weapons and gadgets, but all polished and matching a set playstyle. The bug boys are getting theirs. Now the Bot players need something.
Actually the passives are new, quoting playstation blog; "Both armors in this Warbond feature the Peak Physique passive, which improves melee damage and weapon handling. They both also feature bare arms (and bulging biceps, with a variety of randomized skin tones) to keep you sweat-free when diving in the humid atmosphere." I'm not mad you got it wrong lol, I'm excited for this new stuff either way. EDIT: Ohh the quote mentioning humid atmospheres also hints at the new environment.
As it's my birthday warbond I'm a little sad to say the aesthetics here aren't for me (I'm not into the whole jungle military thing) but I'll be excited to try the weapons and I'm glad arrowhead is working as hard as ever. Of course new planet type will be sick, I didn't even notice!
Neat how it drops on my 1-year anniversary at my awesome job, which is also ten days after my little brother's birthday. Not only is my job the job he should've had (it was perfect for him), but Helldivers 2 is the first game since Gears of War that would've been *our* game. Miss him. But this makes it easy to remember the dates.
If we ever get to the point of cosmetic accessories or upgradable armor, these sets would look amazing adorned with bug bits and trophies. Hell, I'd pay for a cape that's just a shrieker wing.
Honestly, I can seeing this being the most popular and well received warbond so far. I think it's really unique and everything is singing to me so far. The only thing that'll bring it down slightly would be if the weapons end up being trash
I think that's the point of only having 3 total combat items instead of 5. To make the weapons we get feel better and not rushed like how the purifier was not good and the tenderizer stats AND APPERANCE were broken. I'm assuming they will patch those weapons this coming week.
it'll feel like the movie predator when you have to fight stalkers or especially when the illuminate start laser sniping us from invisibility on this map
While I like that the armor boosts the stuff you get in the bond, it'd still be nice to get some sets like these with the engineering or recon kit. Some super-sneaky commando armor would be siiiick

also, I saw the announcement on Steam; these new armor suits actually have a new perk called "Peak Physique." Improves Melee damage and 'weapon handling', whatever that is.
Weapon handling is how fast you can move your weapon through different animations and states, and how quickly the "inner reticle" aligns with the main reticle. It doesn't affect recoil, from what I've heard and read, but it definitely changes the hipfire. For example, HMG has super low weapon handling, so it will shoot to your left or right while you're turning, instead of toward the center of the screen. SMGs and pistols have high weapon handling, so they can ADS instantly and pretty much always hit the center of the screen, even when you're spinning in circles.
I just wonder how you can have bull pup carbine? That gun should be short as hell🤣. Though it didn’t seem to different looking from the original Liberator
Seeing as how polar patriot also had 2 new "rotaional" superstore armors (grenadier/white wolf), mabye they will release an armor more akin to predator there?
I'm praying that the throwing knife doesn't take the place of grenades (even though I'm almost 100% sure it will). I want nothing more than to be able to yeet knives at bots heads while flying with my jump pack but still be able to stun hulks
Why don't go back and update/fix the Polar Patriots WB to, you know, make sense? This one clearly has a theme and purpose and PP seemed like it should too (e.g. the items in the PP WB should synergize with each other to tackle cold environments). EDIT: I suppose they need to go back and fix all the arc weapons, tesla tower, etc to make that WB useful too and i highly doubt they'll do that.
@@JebblesJunior let's hope so. A lot of folks keep adding hopes/predictions to what this patch will contain so by this point it's the "second coming"! 😁
The melee damage part sounds really bad for the new armor. Maybe it’ll combo well with melee weapons in the future, but the punch is already pretty bad, I don’t expect it will be good with like 50% more damage.
I mean I guess it could kill all the fodder, but that doesn’t seem useful to me. It’s probably much slower and more dangerous than shooting them. I guess it’s not for me.
Punching is only for killing Scavengers and Infantry Bots... And stun-countering most medium enemies. You can knock multiple hunters back without taking damage as they lunge. I've stun-locked an upgraded Stalker with just melee, which gave a teammate long enough to stand back up, reload, heal, and then get his revenge. Being able to kill more things faster while countering enemy melees = perfect passive for me.

i am not a big fan of the new armor and the pelican/hellpod/mech skins. 1) why should helldivers have massive arms? They are a bunch of random average people like you and me. There was the standard training that was pretty much just for show and moral boost and after that they were frozen. Also the bodystructure will never match the voices if you have a female voice or random. I know there are some bulky women on this planet but like i said before: helldivers are just average people. i really like the gender neutral armors that didnt allow the player to see any kind of skin. 2) hellpods, mechs and pelicans are mass production. There is no reason to paint that things for people who will survive less than 10 minutes on a hostile planet (Weapon modification is also not a great idea for this setting for the same reasons). 3) the shotgun and the knives look fun. I dont really know of any situation where they would be better than an inpact granade (if they dont oneshot heavier enemies like hiveguards, brood comanders or similar). Sure if you want to be silent, then they would work but that also would need weapons with a silencer. that is entirely fair; jungle-camo is admittedly over-done in...well, most/all military-action games/movies.
Glad it’s not just me. I’ll be honest, even if I did like the aesthetic, the weapons and armor don’t seem very good for high level play.
