Bad game idea your playing as a animal that you make and you start off being peaceful and hunting or running away from predators depending on your traits you gave your animal and every time you die your population decreases and the goal is to survive and after a hour of playing humans are evolved and you now fear humans and run away from them and your going through all of the earth’s existence until your species dies or until you get the future and travel to another planet and it just repeats over and over again (there’s also multi player)
Doom is still 2.5D. It just has better illusions and heights. You can't jump but I bet that's possible in the doom engine. You can't freelook, and the only reason you were freelooking is because you're using a port like GZDoom which is actually 3d. Doom can't also have 3d floors Also, Doom had demos and multiplayer too I'm pretty sure Ik I sound like a nerd, but I just wanna clarify some stuff
Among first person shooter games only CrossFire has one team death match version where you can only kill your enemy with a headshot. Almost all first person shooter games has similar game modes.
to bad Ubisoft cancelled Freaking Splinter Cell Vr imagine how cool that'll be take a studio who really cares and takes time and you have a vr masterpiece I wish there were more espionage stealth games in vr that mostly don't take place in a kayak.
One small correction: DOOM wasn’t “3d” it used and pioneered binary space partitioning, a technique that was in short, ray casting on steroids (but much more complicated) the up and down axis (z in dooms case) was only used for collision, the rest was largely a party trick. Quake was 3d though and one of, if not the first game to utilize its method of of 3d graphics.
some of my favorite fps games come from valve. (this can be seen with my videos about the half life franchise, crack life 2 and my hl1 playthrough) they were the pioneers of fully 3d fps. as far as i know, hl1 was the 3rd game to be a fully 3d fps game (quake was first, goldeneye was second because goldeneye was made in 1997 and half life was in 1998) to be created. some great fps games come from valve: hl1, hl2, (all episodes + lost coast) portal 1&2, tfc and tf2, etc. (also it should be considered a war crime to not include tf2 in this video, ik its a reupload, but at least edit it in)
Vanguard wasn’t hated for being a WW2 game. It’s hated because it’s a mockery of a WW2 game. As were BFV and COD WWII. The problem is that there hasn’t been a compelling AAA WW2 FPS since World at War in 2008, not that the genre is unpopular or “getting less popular by the day”.
Hey Mr. Johnny don’t forget about the indie boomer shooters that’s got on trending and man those games are the best fps games I have ever played I would definitely recommend for you to play New Blood’s games they are the ones that got the boomer shooters popular now in the first place
Great video but I feel like you stopped two thirds of the way through. You covered the 90's and 2000's really well, but nothing about the 2010's. Imo that decade could be characterized by the mainstays of the genre becoming stagnant, with Call of Duty and Battlefield gradually falling from grace after their golden ages. People started to get tired of the same old scripted military shooters being released every year with no change or innovation. Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 were both big failures that really cemented this, although they came out years after the trend started. (They also failed because they were broken unfinished messes like many AAA games are now but that's a different topic.) But in the 2010's you also saw a a new wave of interest in old school shooters, with Wolfenstein The New Order and Doom 2016 reviving those franchises and updating them to the modern day, bringing in a sort of renaissance for those 90's "boomer shooters". After that I think the genre is evolving into a new era more focused on engaging and mechanical gameplay that was started by Doom Eternal, building off the foundations of Doom 2016. Indie shooters like Ultrakill are also adopting this style and innovating on it, and becoming very popular as more and more people are turning away from AAA shooters in search of something new.
The Colony was the original First Person Shooter to use raycasting and it was published 3 years befor Hovertank 3D. You actually missed out on a lot of history and got some thing just very wrong.
theres a lot of games you missed that you should have been mentioned like the midi maze. also, doom isnt 3d, it doesnt really have a y axis like how you might think and duke nukem was made on a different engine

Idk why your long form videos don’t get as much attention bro
This is really good 👍

attention spans have decreased way too much (and dont call it a gen z thing)
@@turbo_marcit’s really sad that attention spans really have decreased that much (I realize this a lot in my personal life)

This was extremely informative and a joy to watch! Thanks, Jonny RaZeR!
Definitely not watching this minutes before a test on the history of games lol. Either way, great video
Is it just me or does this video feel like something from 2022?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... idk. 🤔🤭

YES
And now what's going to happen is CS2 is going to get released, which hopefully means that Half Life 3 is possible.
question is, will it take place after half life 2 episode 2, or half life alyx?
Will valve finally learn how to count to 3?
nah its gonna be half life 2 3/4

@@anamazingloadofgarbage3026 I would honestly hope it takes place after Portal 2. Since they're in the same universe.
I’ve actually played the original doom before I started recording the videos and it was really good
The song at the start is called "We're finally landing" from Home. I mainly know it because of Summoning Salt
And remember, if it doesn't run doom then it must be thrown away
First person shooter have changed so much anhd its crazy to me
Dude i love how you used the impact point audio for this video
Your voice is so calming for some reason.☺️
Bro I love it. I just wish you would stand a bit to the side so I can see what the games you’re talking about look like better.
Keep it up!
This is the earliest I’ve been to a video so far
in first-person shooter what does a terrorist/soldier/shooter/hunter/militia/gang member/mercenary/policeman (armed)/gunny hybrid look like?
the title/credits opening sequence uses 4096s video titled "first person shooter". Its a great video with amazing transitions
I'm from the future and metroid prime 4 still isnt out
*Original Content never disappoint us 😇😂*

nice
It's just the music being a bit too quiet but apart from that i love it

Yeah and it wasn't ray cast, I was waiting for him to explain how more advanced the Doom engine was compared to Wolf 3D
I missed out on Doom as I got into PC gaming in the Quake era, but my dad had Zero Tolerance on Megadrive
