  • The Cross Performance MMWS cylinder kit for the 066, MS660 chainsaw was put to the test against the OEM.
    Mustang Mike of OPEForum.com made some cuts in red oak with his stock MS660 then installed the Cross cylinder. Same saw, same wood, same circumstances.
    Watch the video and see for yourself.
    Bolt-on performance kit by Cross Performance. You can expect increased power when you install this kit. You can buy at HLSupply.com.

    The same kit is also available as a big bore for the 064.

    They are fast but be careful of the Pistons they tend to "come apart" I used the OEM piston with my application . Excellent aftermarket cylinder !

    the question is will there be more cross performance cylinder kits available for other saws in future?

    I muffler mod, but I don’t port or mess with the oem piston. I mean I think my saws are powerful enough. If you can’t wait eight hours a day then maybe you might look into something like this. But then you have to question the longevity of any aftermarket stuff

    Cross cylinder is not a stock replacement part, It’s been optimized by a professional saw builder.
    So I’d expect it to run stronger.

      it did seem to have a higher chain speed when he began cutting

    so if I understood correctly this is a ported topend? decked and etc. this is not just a bolt on then. its got hours of work done to it. tell me if I'm wrong.

    The MMWS 660 should cut even faster once it breaks in. Nice job Mike!

  • @CMLovejoy

    It will cut faster, but will it last longer?

      Good question. We've had some in the field for a year now and still going strong.
      I think we need to test that next.

      you are going to test it for a decade? doubtful... give it to a logger and see how long it lasts.. well that has been done already and it did not work out so well.. hmm

    Put it on the degree wheel set the port timing to 155 that is the perfect work saw timing with the porting I do

      Entirely depends on the saw and what the individual wants

    So for 200 dollars u can save a couple seconds

  • @tristanburke2451
    @tristanburke2451 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    And I could take a stock cylinder and port and polish it for pretty much nothing

  • @ronaldjuhlinjr9309
    @ronaldjuhlinjr9309 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Prove that it was actually installed and mark the saw. Could’ve been aftermarket first and one second. Also could’ve been two oem or two aftermarket. No way to verify the sales pitch

  • @tristanburke2451

    My o66 Magnum ported polished Port timed with a 32 inch bar Full House chisel file would out cut that 660 no problem

    Chinese product ... imho won't last as long due to inferior construction ... the test is basically a ported cross vs a stock cylinder

    • @iraagans3144
      @iraagans3144 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its a well known fact that the tiny Chinese children that work in factories can do better port work then adults with big beefy hands.
