Realmente espectaculares réplicas de locomotoras clásicas a vapor.

Nice review, i am very happy with a well detailed Jouef/Hornby 241P but it just sucks that they did not do that little bit extra to make it a near perfect model. Realistic coal load, heavier tender and proper headlights would not have increased the price much :-/ P.s. it is not fair to compair a battleship turbine on rails with a conventional steam engine lol. The French had also a 4-8-4 242A1 which produced 5500hp!

Yeah Marco... it's a pitty that they just re-released old model without any improvements... 😏

Great video, love the loco despite the traction issues. Try to find the Trix / Maerklin model for 600 Euros today, and I wonder where the Jouef model can be found. I also like your layout, planning something like this in some IKEA Ivar shelving once I sold some more of my model cars...

Thank you! Actually my layout is temporary. It's in garage. The shelf system is good for sharing of the track layout and other stuff from house. The disadvantage are columns which are blocking a little bit view if you want to look at long train. But yeah, everything is about compromises... 🙂 Happy railroading! Cheers! 🙂

@@MaxSupercars I have another 500 sq ft room that has the Ivar shelving all along the walls already, and I have seen layouts like this. Unfortunately, the shelves are full with stuff I need to get rid of / move. My current layout on a 144 x 46 inch table is temporary as well, as I want to tear it down again and replace it with a Marklin M-track shadow station surrounded by a double DC mainline and a 2nd level station with Marklin C-track...

@@tomsmaerklintrainlayout6742 That's great! I plan to move to attic, where I got 4-times bigger space. But first I have to make it habitable - put insulation under roof, install heating etc. Project for next few years...

@@MaxSupercars I just got started myself with Märklin earlier this year after a 45 year hiatus. I’ve been collecting, buying & selling model cars for the past 35 years, and my basement is basically full (no attic).

I have one of these. The model is pretty crude, and seemed a lot of money for such a basic loco with tender drive. Doesn't like curves either. The real ones weren't much better: cracked frames and various other problems. Chapelon had the right idea: convert them into 4-8-4's!

Hope they make a new production run of this, maybe with a heavier tender. Its good detail for the price!

Yeah nice loco, but miserable driving parameters... 😏

Hello, I did find a couple of these locos, and am running onto traction issues with most of my tender-drive steam locos. But sometimes they run just fine: th-cam.com/video/bT8TcTQhIVk/w-d-xo.html
