First time viewer. Good to see Dameralls still going, bought my first bike from them in 2000. A brand new hornet. Lack of official top box is a head scratcher on a bike like this and heated grips should be standard on a £15k bike in the UK. I’d take a cheaper one with standard suspension.
With bikes that will exceed 100mph with ease manufactorers are concened with weaving and unstability...Not a problem for sensible people 🥰...thanks for watching
Awesome review and hope to swap out my Vstrom soon. As an aside I believe the button under the hazards is the cruise control, which activate at about 12.20, and not traction control. Cheers from boiling hot Auckland New Zealand.
I saw the other video you made with africa twin and i think it was on the same route. Which bike did you enjoy more on these twistes? About acceleration, up to 70mph , which one accelerates better? Is there a big difference in torgoue?
Totally different bikes aimed at very different audiences. For me at 6'5" I prefer the physical size ot the AT, much roomier. The 1100cc twin has no where near the bhp of the 1000cc four, but it has its power where it is needed on UK roads. It is much gruntier too, from 30 to 80 the AT is a beautiful bike......I feel that Suzuki have missed the mark with the GX......a better comparison for the GX is the BMW1000XR, which I also feel is a batter bike too.......thanks for watching

After a knee replacement I find it hard to find a bike that does not pull your knees tight , I currently ride a tracer which is pretty comfortable , I could see myself on one of these if I had the leg room.
I had the 2022 Busa & sold it due to health reasons but I’m back in 2024 & love how smooth Suzuki’s are & cheap to run. I’m thinking about the GX , any negatives please exaggerate if you have to. Its this or the AT DCT or Triumph 765Rs . They are priced at 48k , 56k & 41k in Singapore.
@@theloftybiker3090 does the AT have more punch in lower rpm than GX? Does it get to 60mph equally fast? I am also considering the AT or the GX (right now i am used to a bandit 1250S that i own for 13 years and i love it)
@@theloftybiker3090- I’m 5 “ 10’ & never had a problem with my GS & believe the AT will not be a problem. Suzuki’s have never failed me but the AT could be my unicorn bike . Fuel efficiency, power 80% of the time, reliability, looks great for me. My only fear is that it could get a little boring but I wish I was wrong. It would cost the most but compared to a GS it’s almost 30k cheaper. I don’t intend to change bikes until I turn 62 in 10 years 😂. Then it’s the Goldwing
Although base around the K5 sportsbike engine, this has been considerably changed. Peek power and Torque has been moved to much lower in the rev rage delivering a much more useable and veratile enginge...If you are an in line 4 fan. I would deffo suggest a test ride. Thanks for watching
What was the matt green finish like, it looked really nice ? I chickened out and ordered the Triton Blue. Did you notice that the bike had no rear hugger fitted ? The holes were there, so I'm thinking it should have one, if they didn't intend to fit one you would have thought they would have plugged the holes. By ordering before the 31st of January I have qualified for free Suzuki integated heated grips which are an eyewatering £420. The dealer has ordered a rear hugger for me off the GT model just in case it also doesn't have one and is also fitting the optional centre stand.
The matt green is very similar to the Triumph green...Its a colour that never videos well....the bike I rode was the standard GX no extras(QS is standard)...thanks for watching
Great review man, suppose it is exactly as you say, a real world test. Think it wil be decent seller hopefully, and more realistically priced than some of euro bikes. Keep the vids coming. 👌👍
I would love one of these, but the boss (the wife ) will only allow one bike in the shed. Greetings from South Australia 😎 I have the 2018 GSX S 1000 and love it,
Nice review! I wish you pushed it a little harder. Acceleration looked very slow, how do you compare to your NT engine wise? Does it pull equally well or less?
@@theloftybiker3090 im on tracer 9gt, which has lower seat and lower pegs, with out of the box options to change pegs height. My best bet for this bike is to get peg lowering kid, and to do custom seat, both. There is plenty of room and clearance for the pegs, imho.
Great review as always TLB! At 6’5” you sir are a giant. I can’t think of any motorcycle that you would feel comfortable on🤔 A great first off motorcycle for Suzuki but just short off the mark. If the screen was taller & auto adjustable & the pegs just that little lower, it would be a fantastic motorcycle. I just wonder that peg scraping would be on a tourer’s list of importance? Cheers 🤙
I did own the base model gsxs1000 and now I've seen them brand new for £8750. I really struggle to see where the £4000+ is spent. The footpegs did feel slightly too high to be a high mileage tourer. I think a decent screen and soft luggage on the base model would put it damn near close for £3000 less
Great review i too was very interested in buying one until i was told by the guys on the suzuki stand in nec that no top box was available for this model so im asuming that they don't trust the sub frame tocarry pillion and box together whats the point of the rear rack then hopefully truimph will soon re introduce a tiger sport soon i have the baby 660 sport at the moment and guess what it has 3 piece luggage all genuine parts so come on suzuki i think you will loose sales because of that very thing im not prepared to risk putting an after market box on unless suzuki would guarantee that the sub frame will take it .
Currently have the GT model, the GX was a much better fit for me, feels much more spacious, I'm 70 this year so need a bit more comfort. Also the mirrors were much better. Other than that engine is sublime, the bike had 4 miles on the clock when I picked it up and the brakes felt none existant, but soon bedded in, this was exactly the same on my GT. @@gerokatseros
Why make a tall bike, nice high bars upright position then put high sports bike pegs on it ??? At least have adjustable pegs ??? I’m 6ft 3 and love the look and specs on this but couldn’t buy it as it’s too cramped
