The theories about who the author of the journals was, Tad Strange being Bill's brother and who the symbols on the wheel represented were some of my FAVORITE theories throughout the series

I would've believed Hirsch that McGucket was the author: he is a genius and he seems to know a lot more about Gravity Falls than most people thought he knew.

The best part was alex was the one who trolled everyone as well as showing a screen cap from the episode not what he seems with a shitpost with soos and attack glitter.

ZaWake thats unlikely with the current slowdown of production due to covid + the show Alex is currently working on for Netflix will almost certainly get renewed for another season after it releases so it would take years before any on screen gravity falls content could even be considered, but we could get more stuff like Lost Legends still

I remember seeing another fake leak similar to this one, It was a muscular Waddles carrying Dipper.
I found it weird that Dipper wrote in it like his journal the first time he found. After that he never wrote it or mentioned it again.
Did you read Journal 3? Dipper writes into Journal 3 until Ford's return.

@Marrino lbarra I want more Gravity Falls, but rather than a third season, I'm hoping for more of a sequel series. Gravity Falls took place in the events of a single summer, we would need a sequel series to capture the events of a second summer. But Alex is working for Netflix which Disney left just to compete with it. Seriously, Disney? I don't want to complain, though, Disney+ was a genius idea. We'll just need to let Alex do what he wants despite how much we want Gravity Falls to continue in the form of a Season 3/Movie/Sequel Series

I love in how Alex Hirsch was so damn sneaky with the fandom! He really wanted to make sure that the author reveal needed to be completely shocking to us, completely fooling us and making us abandon the stan twin theory and then bam! He freaking gets us at the end of the "Not What He Seems" episode 😂
I remember seeing this hoax when gravity falls was going on. I never believed the twin brother theory at the time so seeing Ford actually was surprising for me.

I was only about 4 or 5 when gravity falls aired, so I didn't know they did this. When I found out about it last month, I thought it was a super clever way to make sure people didn't discover the truth during the gap between seasons 1 and 2

I began watching the show between 2016-2019 and got spoiled everything about the author lol
I started watching gravity falls back in 2012
I began watching it in 2017 and luckily, not much was ever really spoiled for me. That's why it's preferable to stay away from the fandom until you've watched the whole show imo.
the cast argument only has one flaw
McGucket's Cast is on his right hand, and the Six Fingered Hand on the Journals is a left hand
I wasn't even aware of this when it came out. I'm not a big fan of social media so this is the first time I hear about it.

I liked that the stan twin theory existed because so many people thought it was a crackpot theory and when it came true it blew everyone's minds! I nearly passed out from my hysterical reaction when I saw him come through that portal!

When the trailer for the society of the blind eye episode came out I came up with a theory that Dipper wrote the journals
Dipper is way too young to be the author.
When I first saw the journal and it said you can't trust him. I thought the Author was referring to the person who possesd journal 2. I thought Gideon was one of the original collaborators and whatever made the Author dissapear turned Giddeon into a child.
In one interview with alex hresh he said if people didnt found out about stanford in s1 he could drag the Reveal to even a 3rd season
i remember when my english wasnt so good at the time, i would watch turkish gf theories. they were your videos but with turkish subtitles. they were giving the link to your channel but i realized that you are the man himself just now, lol.
I only saw Weirdmageddon when the show was still airing, I wasn't really a fan until last year when Disney+ released, and I can only assume I saw Weirdmageddon first because it all seemed so familiar when watching it on Disney+ so I wasn't a fan when the leak was out.
I bet Alex meant it when he said he was fuming, after all, the fandom was too close to knowing the answer to the greatest mystery of Gravity Falls.

I think the only other thing that TV creators managed to fool fans of a tv show similar to Alex Hirsch’s Gravity Falls Author Hoax was Rebecca Sugar’s Steven Universe with “the Diamond Shattering Mystery” that turned out to be a hoax for the reveal of one of the oldest theories from that show.

I stopped Disney shows in 2012 and haven’t had cable in ages so I never saw gravity falls and haven’t heard of it until a year or two ago i only gave the show a chance this year and watched it and I loved it was the best cartoon I had seen in years can’t believe I never saw it when it came out

I think that whole situation was sick and cool and that Alex made the show even more entertaining with everything behind the scenes. I watched it in 2022 and it was completely worth it.
