@@ryandahlberg1527 exactly! Except maybe puscifer which he has a hand in the music writing as well, but i'm excited to hear what comes out of all of them
It is absolutely insane how good this sounds live after almost 25 years. I saw them play this back on their very first tour in 2000 and jesus it's sooo close.
Maynard sounds great, Josh is a beast. they all sound good af. I wish James iha woulda made it. maybe on the next tour after they release new material like Maynard promised. these guys making aging look awesome. these songs take me back to my early twenties. still such a unique sound that no one has duplicated.
Yep. He is a true gem. Top class session drummer, with an impressive resume of bands he played with - hell, he even rented his balls to Suicidal Tendencies in the early 1990s! Oh, and by the way, he is the new drummer for a certain band called Foo Fighters....
And as much as I’m I love with the lead singer and guitarists, the drummer is the unsung hero. He is absolutely killing it! OMG! Just crushing those drums! He is amazing! ❤❤
Trust me he isn't unsung. LOT of people know that Josh helped make this band what it is. He is also a WIDELY used and respected studio and tour drummer for other bands. I think he's probably in my top three favorite drummers along with Danny Carey and Derek Grant.
I just them on this tour leg. I wouldn’t exactly say he’s a hard hitting drummer. He was very precise the whole night. Soft and direct. Judith was the only song he seemed to pick up the pace and out more energy into.
WHOA! A Perfect Circle playing Judith!! Last time I saw them play this was in 2010 at the Avalon Hollywood. And it looks like Josh Freese is back behind the kit. Thanks for this D.A.!!
It’s definitely him! He was just on the Sessanta tour for Maynard’s birthday too, came back for old times sake until he’s gotta go tour with foo fighters.
Such great memories. I saw APC open for NIN in Atlanta back May 2001 or 2002. I think it was only their 2nd or 3rd show. Maynard was at the front of the stage then wearing a long pink wig. I was front row pit and never saw his face. They were unreal.
I saw them live twice in one year. Was 4th row at the Vegas show. Billy rips. You can see he feels the music and really gets into it. Excellent guitarist. Awesome show

The thing that still blows me away is that Maynard James Keenan is no different really than he was 30 years ago....kinda bizarre. Still a great singer and frontman and his voice hasn't changed hardly at all. It's so bizarre when comparing him to other singers from even 20 years ago that can't sing now or are totally out of it.
He does sound great. As for the breath part some of it might be age but he’s also talked about covid legitimately really messed with his lungs for a long time.
Jesus, Edith! I'm almost 50 and though my sack is hanging lower there's only so much 🎶 load I have. This is my 3 video of theirs from you I've watched. Need a baby aspirin. 🤯🤯🤯
Something seems to have happened in the past 12 months to Maynard's voice - in a very good way! He has a lot more confidence and is landing all the high notes effortlessly in these APC bangers. I'd be curious to know if he's had any vocal training in the lead up to the Sessanta Tour. Sounding fucking great for 60 MJK!!!
I just recently saw Maynard open up about his mother and how she had a stroke and he had to grow up watching her suffer. Her name was Judith he made wine in her memory. This song makes a whole lot more sense now. As it was obvious that this still affects him. It comes out in his performance and still helps him deal. I can understand that having his Mom pray during all that trauma growing up would piss someone off at the whole idea of it. Maynerd is a deep. Intelligent within the depths of his deep emotions. I think many have had a tragedy that can make you feel this way.. I have. Yet .. i've come to realize it's not Gods or Jesus's fault. It's people. Probably a reaction to a medication unforeseen by genetics or some kind of environmental issue of some kind that in humans free will was created . Maybe realizing that brings peace and closure I sure hope He finds it.. This sure brought me some closure that this song is not some occultist tribute to the first vampire or demon or something... Once agian it"s raw viceral introspection. It seems Maynard is not what he first appears to be. Great performance.
@@Twister1980 Well because his Mom had a stroke at a young age and he had to take care of her and she remained religious. As a child that could be hard and foster quite normal resentment for God in youth. That's what the song is about. Him dealing with that.. You are not the Judge and you should read some of what Jesus said if your going to claim his religion and go acting like that. It's this kind of twisted version of m Christianity that turns people away from God.. Which for all you know is the bigger sin. It's a song. @scottmitchell2757 I'm concerned about his soul. He always uses his mother's stroke as an excuse to reject God. He clearly hates God. A lot of people go through hard times in life and they don't reject God and His Son. I know all about Tool. They do satanic rituals.
they played the night before in Red Rocks, and their gear got caught in a snowstorm on the way to Vegas. They're not playing their own instruments in this video, it's all borrowed gear or stuf they managed to buy last minute (this was an 11am show I think?). Fascinating stuff! Primus was also playing at that festival and they were in the same boat. There's a video of Les Claypool playing a bass he had to buy the morning of, with tags still attached 😄
Amazing vocals by Maynard. Proff that the vocals style he chose for the most recent Tool and APC albums were a style choice rather than "I cant do that anymore".

@jambi711 Being the truck driver who failed to make the show because of Denver weather and the I-40 closure due to the train derailment, I can confirm this is true
Lol, why wouldn't they know how to play different instruments? It probably took 5-10 minutes to tune the guitar and bass, and Josh just has the drums positioned like he's used to. Not having their own instruments would've made little to no difference.
I forget her name but I always envision the hot bassist that was in the video of this song when it was released. Absolutely loved how she puts her hair up and resumes playing.

So true.
Indeed
bc he's lucky to be where he is with his limited talent. foos sound like crap w/him. he can play the notes, but there's zero style.

Wish he was able to play at the red rocks shows. But had to do his foo fighter stuff
To see maynard, at 60, sing with this much intensity brings a smile to my face ☺️
