  • For this one I get influenced by both synthwave and Eurobeat for the background loop played by the J-6. I then composed a basic beat on the T-8 and used snare for that retro flavour. Finally, i took my mpk mini play (not shown here) and tried melodies which I then entered in the S-1 for the lead.
    Original creation by Bigkik
    Technical details :
    - The J-6 plays the background loop which integrates also the somewhat bassline (2 notes per step),
    - The S-1 is set to "1_8" to extend the length of the loops,
    - On the T-8 i used both snare and clap in the main rythmic pattern,
    - The T-8 is midi master and I used it to switch between the 8 patterns on each units at the same time in a same manner as scenes on the MC-101 for instance.

I really like how you used many pattern switches! I always get myself stuck focusing on 1 pattern. Keep it up!

Thank you ! It was not straighforward though. Sometimes it is good to wait several days and going back to a project with fresh ideas.

Sweet beat! Is synced pattern changing a midi standard or is it only between the Aira devices? Will, say a Microfreak or Pocket Operator change an Aira pattern automatically?

Thank you. The pattern changing is a MIDI feature and corresponds to midi "program change" (PC) messages. It won't work with Pocket Operators since they don't use midi. I don't know if the microfreak can send or receive PC but i can tell you that grooveboxes like the Roland MC-101 and Elektron Model: can send and receive them.
