Sounds great! Amazing how Roland could pack so much into such a compact package. I have these too, and am enjoying them very much. Have a great day, and best wishes for your continued success.🎃🎃🎃
@@SonicgoalieActualhockeygoalie I have only understood now that you mentionned "go" by moby... I thought you were speaking of the track i made... "Go" is a great track though, as "LFO" and other bangers of those (now ancient) times :-)
I wish the t8 had 64 steps Or pattern chaining its ok doing ir by hand but when your changing patterns and muting drums for the next pattern coming in can be pretty fiddly hope they give it a pattern chaining update
Having most of the Volcas the one thing obviously missing from Roland is the noise ;-) If these are not processed later on, then they do sound pretty clean. Superb.
Indeed :-) I have also most of the Volcas ! I always record "live" without post processing. Apart from YT compression, this is what you could expect from these !
I like this sound and try to mimick it ☺ I'm stuck with "sequencing the bass with the J6", could you please detail how you do it ? I'm beginner with J6 + T8 and need a very simple step by step to understand ♥ Big thx !
Thanks ! You need : - to set both the J-6 and the T-8 bassline on the same Midi channel, - connect a trs/trs cable from the J-6 Midi out to the T-8 Midi in. It should work. Let me know if not !
How are you doing this? It seems you have the J6 chords patterns triggering the T8 bass sounds, but I can't get this to work. Any chance of a tutorial?
Sounds like you're playing the same sequence on the J-6 as on the T-8, just with the J-6 volume turned down and the T-8 baseline follows that? Then you can turn the J-6 volume up and down as you change the sounds on it?
Great session! i've read the description but I don't get how the J6 can control the T8 bassline for 16bars, since the only cable i can see is for audio signal from T8 to J6.... what did I missed?
Hello, No magic, the J-6 sequences alone the T-8. The "beat" parameter of the J-6 can be set from "1/4" up to "8". In 4/4 for each step : - 1/4 : 1/16th of a bar - 1 : 1/4 of a bar - 4 : 1 bar - 8 : 2 bar In this track, the beat is set to 4 and has 16 steps. So the melody is equivalent to a 16 bar pattern if I had to write every notes. The strength of the J-6, appart from the beat parameter, is the style/variation feature. In this case, i used arpeggios ("2-3") : - On step 1, i put 3 notes, - On steps 2 to 4, i activate "hold". This way, i obtain an arpeggio of these 3 notes on 4 bars. Let me know if you get it.
Ahhhh, you’re using the the J6 sequencer to sequence the TB sound, very smart! Sounds great ❤️
Thank you ! The j-6 sequencer is great on its own !
I didn't figure that out until this comment, and was confused what was going on. That is indeed very smart
Me too - great solution and very inspiring! Many thanks for sharing and I totally loved the track too :)
Thank you !
Just getting both of these machines. Can anyone explain how to use the J6 as the sequencer for the T8?
That's fire 🔥
Thank you !
That sounds totally fabulous. Well done sir! I’m going to have to have a play about with this. 👍🏻
You're right, that was hypnotic. Was vibing away while working !

This is arena filling sounds, im raving away listening to this🙂🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@bigkik to elaborate, this piece of music actually managed to spark emotions in me, unlike most of the other soulless 4 to the floor jams
@p504504 to be honest, while composing it, it struck me too. It is the power of music I believe...
Brilliant work on this Big !

Worth the wait 😁👍
I try to post as often as possible, but i prefer quality over quantity !

Great to see how much you've improved! If you plan on doing a cover sometime soon, I highly suggest go by moby, a semitone higher if possible.
Thank you. I began yesterday working on a MC-101 version ; might try your suggestion:-)

Totally agree, 64 steps would be a great improvement and/or pattern chaining.

@@bigkik thanks for your answer, i think i get it, thanks. And now i want a J6 :)
I have got the J-6 and the MC-101, and the J-6 is really easier to sketch melodic ideas quickly ! Highly recommended !
