I believe no politician in India could speak as good as Ram is doing in this debate. Having one religion is monopolistic but accepting all the religions is diversity. And India should always be known for it's diversity.
Dude what you are saying sounds very good, I'm all in for religious diversity and freedom of whoever chooses to follow whatever, but it doesn’t necessarily work on practical terms. All religions cannot be true at the same time. Either there is no god, no true religion; or there is one. God cannot be at the same time have a son (christianity), have no son (Judaism and Islam), have 33 million manifestations (hinduism).
But You should know monotheism only aim is that every human being to believe in their God and it's directly a danger for Diversity . As you can see in Afganistan a particular religion has wiped out every other religion people who were once a majority like in Afganistan It was a Buddhist Majority Country with Hindu's and Sikhs population in Equal numbers
@@kamrulhasan3468 That's your idea of God. When you can't prove God, you can view it like anything. 33 or 33 millions. Actually God is not ultimate too acc to Hindus. So I guess that is better answer to Creator paradox.

As per shastras and lord Krishna himself in bhagawat Gita, it's not by birth but by one's actions and character (Gunas)that he belongs to any of the one varnas (Bhramin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra). Brahmin: predominantly focus on knowledge accumulation, seeking truth and dissemination, does not run behind money or hoard wealth Kshatriya : predominantly Defends people against invasion, wages war. Vaishya : focused on increasing wealth through trading Shudhra: who predominantly follows instructions from others and provides service Eg laborers, farmers, weavers, potters.. involved in lot of physical work What was fluid later became static due and by birth... I think he meant more like in Hinduism we think that our situation (successful or not) is a result of our actions. We are taught not to work with the result in mind, and just focus on making our karma good. It is arguable that good actions would translate in success in this lifetime or the next (good karma begets good karma)
@@vasudhasharma5532 no, he was justifying the fact that communism cannot spread in india because of the indian religion (and he hugely generalised it by saying hindu religion, but okay) as people will accept their fate despite the social factors against them (economically and socially) because it's what their religion says. They will never question their social positioning. It also points to the still, sadly, prevalant cast system which further solidifies one's social standing and reiterates that you are supposed to only be in this class and not succeed further as that's how we are conditioned. Now, he can justify it because he was in a position of privilege, coming from the upper cast. In fact, he is using these problematic tenets in the religion to say that since we have these values, we can oppose communism.

I think what he said is true. As now we all r facing environmental challenges. Whatever we r suffering is what we sown we deserve of our ignorance, our sense of superiority, our arrogance, our negligence. We believe that we hv controlled nature by building dams, cutting the heart of mountains to build road. Able to grow food in most adverse natural condition and more than ever. But after the period of time we come to know that our sense of greatness and achievements r just our foolishness. We r able to grow so much of food with the help of all pesticides nd fertilizer or those lab produced seeds. But know we see after 30yrs that they all r the causes of our poor health, our lands r becoming barren due to their use. Our rivers r turning toxic even the food we eat r not as healthy nd beneficial as we think it might be. And now we want to grow our like we use to grow 40yrs back we all want everything organic, no GMO seeds plant based food. Same with plastic when we made it we thought it make so many things easy now it is choking us. We want to get rid of our own creation one we believed is best. So we r responsible 4 our current situation. Hindu dharma is not just few thousands years old it is older than time. It survive bcuz it believe in change. But it also says everything is like a cycle form where we started we reach back there. It is all bcuz after reaching the peak we lose our visionary mindset and than our downfall started nd we reached where we began everything. It is a way of living. It is as much spiritual nd scientific at same time. In sanatan dharma trees and rivers r worshipped. For that we need to plant trees nd save rivers. We worship animals, birds ,even the smallest creature bcuz and for that we need them. Over the period of time sanatan dharma understood that everything has it's importance nd place in this life cycle. If we tried to change it or remove it . It completely disbalance the whole system. Let's take an ex. To get beautiful plush green grass lawns we started using different kinds of pesticides that eat grass or affect grass growth. But we forget that those insects might be eat by small lady bugs, butterflies which helps to grow beautiful meadows nd daffodils. But our single change made all these things died and in end we hv only green glasses but no plants nd flowers or butterflies or fire flies. In longer term we see how our action effects everything. We need to see long term outcomes of our action.
Ram 12:00 to 12:35 have answered a nearly 2-decade old question for me. I was in India around 2003. Delhi to be exact. I was with a CEO of a big local pharmaceutical company. He is a PhD, educated both in India's top university and in the US of A. We were in a chauffeured and very comfortable Toyota Camry, air-conditioned and all, driving through the busy streets of Delhi. The temperature was around 40 celsius or there and thereabout, and I see many homeless people laying down by the roadside - Many without shelters. I asked - "Dr I wonder if some of these folks could actually die from this heat?" and he nonchalant says - "Yes". I asked if that is a concern for him and I was shocked to hear a rather dismissive - "not much because everyone has a place in the universe" I did not continue the discussion as I felt uncomfortable and I sensed he too felt like not talking about it but that statement lingered in my mind until this video...I think good old ol' Ram finally answers it.
Actually that comes from concept of karma that what we have is result of our karm(deeds) in past life or timr and what we will have in future will be result of our present deeds
And Ram is truthful too without any hesitation whether it shows his religion in bad light or not. Hallmark of a true Hindu is to continue to seek and question. Others act like they have the truth.
Some fellows definitely gonna understand it in a wrong way just like many poor people or I say poor Hindus think that if they are poor it's because of their Karma (yes of course it is) and they CAN'T DO anything to rise above from this poverty.
You with full determination fought poverty and now you are a established businessman, rich, literate it's also because of your Karma. You destroyed your poverty You destroyed your rich successful life You are destroying someone weather they deserve it or not Someone else is destroying you weather you deserve it or not Everything is because of your past lives Karma and this cycle has no ends, cycle of life and death has no ends Until and unless you become a seeker of truth.

Ram was amazing so smart. Smarter than any Filipino but because there is no Filipino there isn't much views because Indians don't need this to feel good about themselves.
@Harsh _ “India was looted way more than philippines still philippines have nothing of their own” what??? Doesn’t matter if you were looted more than us, we still suffered greatly. Colonization & abuses by the Spanish, Genocide & betrayed by the United States, harsh Japanese occupation, and a bunch of others. Its like saying you were punched more than I was and somehow that removes the fact that I was also punched. The Philippines have something of their own, it’s peoples, languages & traditions. Filipinos have contributed to the world, through inventing games like yo-yo to the medical area like the medical incubator. Yes India invented lots of things more than my country, but that doesn’t remove the fact that we have contributed to many things. “Their language has English script, name based on Spanish ruler and culture by Christians.” That shows the fact that we’ve been colonized for centuries, adopting a foreign script doesn’t make a language a lesser valued one. The name Philippines isn’t changed, so what? What’s the point of changing it’s name? So that the government spends more money into changing names of establishments and a bunch of other things with the name Philippines on it instead of focusing on poverty and more important matters in our country? So what if we are majority Christian? What does that even imply? Christianity isn’t just for the white folks or the western folks, Christianity was present in North Africa, the Middle East (Before Islam arrives, it still is present there), Christian communities in the Steppes/Central Asia, and into parts of western China. Christianity has always been a religion of Europeans, Jews, Nubians, Ethiopians, North Africans, Assyrians, Armenians, Georgians, etc... and has since expanded from those previous historical areas where Christianity was rampant.
@Harsh _ Was* influenced by the Indian language. That has changed due to colonization by the Spanish for 3 centuries. We were not just Hindus back then, we were animists AND Hindus AND Buddhists. We had our pantheons that were inspired by Hinduism and pantheons that weren’t. This depended on the ethnic groups, tribes & kingdoms. Also we didn’t speak ONLY Sanskrit either, we spoke old Malay, and bunch of other languages in the Philippine Archipelagos. “We retained our original culture” and that also has changed. Cultures of peoples from different countries have either changed a little bit or drastically. Even if you’ve retained it, it still has changed even by a little bit. Majority of Filipinos do not have their original cultures & practices, some tribes still do but not majority. To say the Philippines didn’t have any is stupidly ignorant. You can see traces of the original culture in the present culture that majority of Filipinos have. We still have indigenous ancient scripts still alive and some being revived after the Latin script became more popular for the natives back then. We still have celebrations that our ancestors practiced (though a little different).

@@theoriginalrudeboy2916 vaishyas are the rich ones, Brahmins are the one with the most knowledge - get your facts right.
As per shastras and lord Krishna himself in bhagawat Gita, it's not by birth but by one's actions and character (Gunas)that he belongs to any of the one varnas (Bhramin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra). Brahmin: predominantly focus on knowledge accumulation, seeking truth and dissemination, does not run behind money or hoard wealth
Kshatriya : predominantly Defends people against invasion, wages war.
Vaishya : focused on increasing wealth through trading

the indian guy was the smartest; but he mentioned that indians never socially question their miserable plight because they believe they deserve it... i think that's where the problem lies... It hinders progress in a huge way. This mentality is what taken advantage of by religious groups be it any in india. On that note, the Swiss guy was just not that eloquent, the others were just fine.
One must remember that ,it was the mindset that came out of 200 years of colonial rule ( after our country was squeezed out for everything it could offer) and after many centuries of devastating Islamic invasion…Accepting that life is not perfect helps one avoid an attitude of entitlement and self pity.Nowhere to Hindu scriptures say that do not work hard to better oneself.
@@aleenascaria6851 I was eluding to the fact where you said ‘it’s what their religion says’ …. The thing the religion actually says is that karma and result of karma and how we shouldn’t focus on the result.
And currently I rarely see caste playing a role in society even in rural places where I am from. It is used max for arrange marriages, but even for that they usually now advocate for ‘caste no bar’, as in they don’t want the caste to be a deciding factor.

I asked if that is a concern for him and I was shocked to hear a rather dismissive - "not much because everyone has a place in the universe"
I did not continue the discussion as I felt uncomfortable and I sensed he too felt like not talking about it but that statement lingered in my mind until this video...I think good old ol' Ram finally answers it.
You destroyed your poverty
You destroyed your rich successful life
You are destroying someone weather they deserve it or not
Someone else is destroying you weather you deserve it or not
Everything is because of your past lives Karma and this cycle has no ends, cycle of life and death has no ends
Until and unless you become a seeker of truth.

Very interesting and educative debate on religion. The conclusion i make from this discussion is that, Religion exist for the good of Humanity, if it becomes anything other than goodness, then it cease to be religion but something else.
God exists
Wow loved your perspective of seeing things ... Your conclusion is quite impressive :)
The definition of 'good' varies from religion to religion.
India has a lot of culture, tradition, and religion that spread worldwide. India could be a country with lot of influences, but have failed due to other problems they have.
I agree
The problems that were put on us by the Europeans and Islamics, you mean? We were among the world leaders for millennia until certain groups (euros and muslims) decided that conquest was better than advancement. We are still trying to recover from that. But, ours is an eternal philosophy, so we can handle mistakes from younger children like the Muslims and Christians.

I like how the Muslim guy brought up equality in Mosques but women are not allowed to pray alongside men in Mosques. So equality only for men?
When is equality measured side by side? Men and women are separated, what if someone stared at your family? and focus is God it is not looking at other people or being distracted.
Men and women are equal but are not the same i.e. biological
Women can pray in any mosque, don't spread lies if you are not knowledgable enough.
Women also pray in mosques together, but if men and women were to pray side by side and in front/behind each other, don't you think they'd get distracted by each other? Its a known fact that men especially tend to look at women and admire their bodies, so wouldn't having them pray together lead to distractions?
@@AAA-vf2qr we follow the way of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him at that time men and women prayed in the same place, and prayed separately. In a household we can pray with each other.
The woman interviewing seems a bit ignorant . At 16:48 she asks the representative from Bangladesh about the middle east . Ram was amazing so smart. Smarter than any Filipino but because there is no Filipino there isn't much views because Indians don't need this to feel good about themselves.
@Harsh _ wtf? when did Filipinos start speaking Sanskrit.....stop disgracing our culture
Oh. This isn't about feeling good his concepts are clear and that's what attracts people. I am sorry i really don't know about Phillipines the socio economic or culture things but i know India and really it's something how it turned out to be even after it was attacked by Portugese moughal and British
