Even in 2022, I doubt if I could speak like Gopi, if I participate in some debate. @Nisha chambiyal ok well #1, Britian was not the only country that killed millions overseas (probably in the hundreds of thousands, but not millions). And neighboring countries have killed and enslaved each other for centuries. So should you take them out of the UNSC? 2nd, everyone treated everyone like dirt. Literally a couple hundred years ago if you weren’t protected or trading partners or something with another country you were easy pickings for enslaving or killing. And they did not introduce racism. Racism has been a thing since the beginning of different skin colors. If you’re talking about how they “introduced racism” as in the American Atlantic Slave Trade, take the North Africans/other Africans that also sold their neighbors (one less country next to you, more food and land for you) off the UNSC. And no, they didn’t reach the world what a class system was. Class systems have been around since the first civilizations. There’s poor, moderately poor, wealthy, a bit wealthy, and a lot wealthy. Boom, class system. And those were all the acts of the people that aren’t alive now, who’s ideals would be shunned by modern day Britain. Britain has provided a lot for world organizations like the UN, being a first world country in a world without too much first world countries. And as for the South America thing, I have no idea why. But if we were to take Britain out from the UN that would probably spell some conflicts from leaders.

Indian - man of facts, pun, charm, infallible respect for his own country. He counters every argument gracefully as he accepted some of the weaknesses present in his country. I like his use of historical/ geographic/political knowledge to completely Out class the British debater.
Only he seemed to be enjoying the debate
Pakistan - seemed bit emotional in start when argument made on orthodoxy of Islam but make some good argument against the colonial rule. And in he even recognised the neo colonialism back in 50's.
British- she was on backfoot throughout the debate natural for a kingdom shrinking losing territory and her resources in the war. She made some arguments about the 'gift of democracy' bit was completely demolished the Indian guy. He is said it was started in India when Europeans were 'little blue savages'.
Phillipines - he was the only one who really addressed the topic of debate fully stating the negatives and positives of prejudice. Through some real life examples he really stood out. He even gave a solution to negative prejudice that is to know about the people emphasize with stand in their shoes to experience what they did that's only way to combat prejudice.
Overall this awesome debate is compelling me to see other episodes too even though my exams are just round the corner.

and "why ganddhi ji was the bad guy" very very sad , thank god gopi is not here to see all this BS.
same with pakistanis, all these people going "WOKE" not all tho, but its already a start.

It's quite ironic that the Filipinos now admire the Japanese people for their discipline and cleanliness and Filipinos like buying Japanese brand products for their reliability and durability. Prejudices can certainly change over time

Well its been so long and because most filipinoes understand being angry would do nothing so they just forgave .Its also because Japan has fixed their image by giving us trains, train tracks and other aids. Many filipinoes also migrated to japan to work and earn good money for their families.Anime also was aired here so most of the generation today likes japan.

The fact that the British lady actually has the audacity to justify her nation's actions and then demand appreciation from the entire world really makes me question their education cuz it's still this way even today. Not an ounce of guilt, only arrogance.

Let's see if she can tell the same things in these time . Yes many good things has come out of colonisation .But the argument is just like if a child was and parents were murdered by someone they that child got adopted to a rich good family . Did the murderer did a good thing here by killing his parents . Noone owe the Britsh shit

    • @Ds-yy5or

@@sameethfarhaan5214 the arrogance part wasn't directed at her, she seems sweet but it's their education system and society. For Eg, At least Germans know very well and accept what Hitler did and no one glorifies him even tho he brought prosperity to the nation, Britain was much worse than Hitler yet reacts in a total opposite way. Can't even accept their fault or make any public apology but instead considers themselves as some kind of saviours, which no one needed.

The British right wing today still uses the same arguments and holds almost the same position. Yet Indians today are more sympathetic towards them than towards the left wing. I think we all know the reason for this.
Also the British girl seemed like a sweet person, I think it's just the culture around her that has caused her to form such opinions.

Why should the present generation feel any sort of guilt? They were not responsible for the British Atrocities. We should leave history aside and try to compete with them with our present resources. We don't get any material benefit from their acknowledgement of the cruelty of their ancestors. No country would teach their citizens the evil side of their own history.

The damages of colonialism are clear as day in this video, and the only one who seems to be in complete ignorance about them, is the British woman who’d rather stay on the topic of “current prejudices, thank you”.

  • @ninadgadre3934

I love how raw the discussions are, especially the Filipino guy telling his story of prejudice. Had me tear up man. Such eloquent speakers. The Indian guy is as sharp as a ceramic knife. Indian and Pakistani guy teaming up on colonialism is chef’s kiss. The British girl was quite a sport, given the hammering she got!
