I practiced slipstream for hours upon hours and watched a ton of tutorials, including your slipstream tutorial, and couldn't get it. I watched this video and got it within the span of five minutes.
I know this is an infinite slipstream tutorial, but this is legitimately the best slipstream tutorial out there.
same here bro I started practicing sparrow techs in 4 days from now I don't even know how to sparrow fly but I managed to work it for 20 sec then I missed up
I’m on controller and this tutorial worked better for me than all of the others on console.
Same. Just the simple advice of 'after pulling up the nose 45 degrees, let go of S completely and hold A' made a huge difference on its own.
I’ve been sparrow flying since destiny 1, I’m very comfortable on my sparrow, but I never knew that infinite slip streaming was possible
infinite slipstreaming only became a thing in d2 a couple of weeks ago, so it makes sense why you may have not heard of it before :)

I was slipstreaming all the time wrong, I pressed always ”A“ and ”S“ at the same time
That’s technically not wrong, it’s called a closed slipstream, what’s shown in the video is an open slip which allows for inf slips and slip flicks.

Even wrote it exactly that way out so people do it... and when i explained why it´s hard to understand it that way, he told me i am just bad. Cause "all the others told me blablabla"..... pathetic...

Are you on 60 or 30 fps. I have been doing slipstreaming for about a year just can't get the infinite version down.

@@roundraccoon6141 same, that comment was just saying that I was able to do it. I can’t really get enough height either but I did it across rainbow road so that’s good enough for me

I've been trying to infinite slipstream for probably a total of 10-15 hours over 2 days, and I've almost got it, but for some reason my momentum carries me like 35 degrees right instead of straight forward, and I just cannot understand what it is that I'm doing that is making me do that. It's like locked into my muscle memory now and I consistently go slightly right while flying

And now I have figured it out, I just landed my first slipstream that you did in the video, my problem was I was pressing S too early after dodging, you have to wait a bit before pressing S after dodging or it ruins the slipstream

dunno if youre able to help but for some reason after i get through the first set of infinite slipstream and get to the part where i need to let my dodges recharge i always spin out of control, and even if i dont my next dodges always send me down
Did you fix your mistakes? If you’re spinning out of control that means you’re holding on to your keys for too long, and make sure you’re dodging when body is almost all the to the right

Awesome Guide! The small tips you gave helped alot. Do you always cap it on 30 fps. I havent tried it on 30 yet but heard about it. Slipstreaming for prophecy is fine with uncapped but when i started to learn the infinite slipstream i struggled alot. I really need to try the 30 fps cap.
Infinite flying is possible on 100+ fps, but it is 20x easier on 30fps
I had never heard of this before, thats why I learned it on high fps the hard way 😂
How long did it take you to get your first infinite slipstream down? Love the content btw keep it up
a couple days, prob 5-6 hours in total. There wasn't really a tutorial so I was mostly trying to figure it out myself
not me realizing I practiced this for like two months and didnt know about lowering to 30fps and then getting from red roof to spawn as soon as I lower to 30.....

do you have any more tips on maintaining the proper rotation while waiting for your boost to charge? I cant seem to get it down
Did you figure it out? It’s all about lightly influencing the rotation, gently tapping shift, a and s until your sparrow is in the position for the next pair of dodges

Infinite slipstreaming?
Ive been slipstreaming n tornadoing since D1 n i havent even thought of that.
I guess it isnt good for gaining height...and tornado launching probably gives a lot more speed. But this looks insanely cool and more controlled than tornado.

Idk why i tried it, my brain isnt even fast enough for the easiest math questions, and im right now telling it to be faster then the speed of light sure...
Curious to know from a proper speed runner like yourself, how far will the icarus dodge set back the speedruns that you do?
It will be very hard to beat current runs and will most likely ruin the game for most runners
@@Gunnarhawk damn that sucks. I'm by no means up to your level but i do enjoy trying to speed through certain things like prophecy, strikes and raids. Wish they just implemented the icarus nerf to pvp but once again a pvp nerf hurts pve fun.
@gunnarhawk what should I do if I feel like I'm not even pressing my keys because I feel like it sometimes and I also feel like even if I do hold s then swap to a I can never get the angles right

This is a really good video explaining the mechanic. Question though is this possible with any other sparrow besides the SOTP Sparrow? I always see people using just that particular one and i noticed (as many others before me) that the SOTP Sparrow is faster and maybe even dodges slightly better?! I really just need an answer once and for all is it possible with any Sparrow or am i just wasting my time trying?
The SOTP sparrow has more 1 extra dodge compared to other sparrows so that’s what makes it preferable. I wouldn’t say it’s pointless to learn how to sparrow fly or slipstream with any other sparrow, you can still do a lot skips with what ever sparrow you prefer.
The Always on time sparrow just allows people to move faster or fly forever given the right circumstances.
The sparrow also does move faster. I mean if you have an AOT vs any other sparrow, the AOT will get there faster.
Any thoughts on doing a controller tutorial?
I have never played controller in my life so I don't think I should be the one to make a tutorial for it. Hopefully one of my controller homies will make one at some point

A guy called kusunda shows the basics on controller but after that it’s really just doing it by your own I’ve given this a try but it is kinda harder to do on console

Where should I practice skip streaming in this day and age
First i found a video from gmeiners, is his name. I was looking for videos to show friends how to learn it better.
And compared to him, you explained it waaaay better. What helps newbies a lot is, if you manage to fly for a long time. Show the actual infinite stream and how to transition between each charges. The way gmeiner explained it, is just not understandable. He never dives much into the details as well as you did.
Most part he made about common mistakes.
And the part where he actually does a slipstream is once and shortly.
Not rly explained well. He is like, just do this and it works. So i took my time to explain to him what makes it hard to learn it the way he explained it (i studied at Harvard and know pretty well how to write an entire huge essay about a topic....) and all he answered was like:
"Maybe you are just bad?"
Typical Destiny 2 toxic kid to me, nothing else. And reason why I don´t play raids. Cause these people are hanging on life-support provided by Destiny 2 apparently....

@@thetwitchywarlock that kid straight up lied to you. While you can do it with any sparrow with destabilizers, always on time will always beat a normal sparrow as it's faster and you get more dodges. Don't listen to him

Significantly. The always on time can dodge once more during a slipstream than any other sparrow, and it has a faster speed than others as well.

Are any of these techniques able to be done with out the always on time raid sparrow? I’m struggling to get enough height for my dodges to recharge.
I’m using the tomb rider sparrow with vernier thrusters/destabilizes, would the window of execution be tighter?
For slipstreaming, you need the scourge sparrow. This is because, even with vernier thrusters, you are losing out on a dodge if you boost and 3 dodges if you double boost

I dont know if this is a common problem but my doge for sparrow rarely works and I dont know how to fix it.
smash your keyboard against the wall, take a hammer and smash it it on "A" or "S", then it should work

It’s practically completely impossible to make it a macro. And even if it was possible it would be counterintuitive because your couldn’t adjust.

Could anyone translate the keybind inputs that Gunnarhawk is using for someone on Controller? I use both inputs but i'd prefer to learn this on my Controller since i am more comfortable with it. #CisternGang

No, but it's considerably easier on 30 fps

I think so. I mean you can do the same movement techniques on controller as well AND you have 30 FPS when you play on a last gen Console
I would assume that it is possible. I have never used a controller in my life so I wouldn't really know. Like Silas said, its the same inputs so it should be possible

look more right if you don't want to change any key presses. If you want to fix the root of the problem, make sure your rotation is good and you are not dodging too early or too late
