    People forget that when the MCU started they never thought they were going to have Spider-Man. When that changed, they had to find a way to insert him and it would make sense. Tony absolutely would’ve been the one to find him.

      Yeah people forget that whole Sony/Marvel deal. They were in the middle of filming Civil War and they had to rush Spider-man in the movie just in time and they killed it. Could've they have waited and give him a proper movie? Sure but...it's FREAKING SPIDER-MAN lol.

    MCU Spidey's been cool with me since Civil War. Tom's movies got issues. So did Tobey's & Andrew's. Still love them. Maybe I'm more forgiving of the movies. Maybe I don't go into things ready to dislike them. Or maybe I'm just a big Spider-Man fan. And no version is my favorite. Each one's got something to offer

      You're absolutely correct sir .. also, on a pure nostalgia basis i still lean towards Tobey's Spidey bcz that's the adaptation that introduced Spidey to me but looking back at all the adaptations I've went through..the most accurate one is probably Insomniac's Spidey.. just my opinion tho

    I personally never understood why some people bash him for not being a "hardened" spiderman like Tobey's interpretation. I think people forget how young Peter is in these films, realistically a kid his age would still be very optimistic that he could balance out his superhero and normal life without any consequences.

    I love how the three main villains ( Vulture , Mysterio and Green Goblin ) gradually set up Peter's journey into true spider man . Each one tested his responsibility in different ways . Also , I love how those villains respond to Peter's charachter and personality .
    Vulture sees Peter's morality and tries to reason with him.
    Mysterio sees Peter's morality and uses it for his own benefit
    Green Goblin sees Peters morality and turnes it against him

    I love the MCU Spider-Man! I have never understood the hate that he gets. I have enjoyed all of his three solo films and I loved his dynamic with Tony Stark. To me, Tom Holland was the perfect choice for Spider-Man. I was so glad that they went for somebody very young for a change and was able to do his own stunts which was very refreshing. No Way Home is the best of Holland's trilogy for sure IMO, it may have flaws don't get me wrong but it was so good and such an enjoyable movie especially at the cinema. It was my favourite movie of 2021. I disagree with you about the music. I love Michael Giacchino's music for these movies and I love his theme. When I got out of seeing No Way Home, I was humming the theme as I was walking back to my car so it's memorable to me.

    People give the movies crap about the connections to other MCU characters, while I get the reasonings for it but that's what separates this Spider-Man from the other two which I love. As a kid watching the Raimi movies (and many other Marvel and DC movies) I kind of hated how...empty the worlds felt to me. I love a big world with different superhero characters that can have connections with each other. Hell, Spider-man's first issue comic is a Fantastic Four

    I do think if they bring her back it would be great if she had come out of her shell and was doing modeling or something and looking more like Zendaya looks irl since it would line up a bit more with the Mary Jane rendition of MJ but I liked what we got either way.

    The argument that MCU Spidey is just Iron Man Jr is one I've never personally agreed with. Yeah, it's not wrong, he is definitely reliant on Stark tech to a degree, but apart from Far From Home, he doesn't really overuse it. The whole point of the Stark suit in Homecoming was that it was kind of overpowered, and in the end he was able to beat Vulture with his homemade suit amd his own skill. Far From Home does have him somewhat reliant on E.D.I.T.H and his upgraded suit in the climax, but it still never really bothered me. No Way Home definitely does a good job of establishing this MCU Spidey as his own hero. Another criticism was the lack of an origin story and no real mention of Uncle Ben. Until No Way Home, I agreed with this, but looking back, this whole trilogy can be seen as his origin story, with each film teaching him more about what it takes to be Spider-Man, starting with the whole "If you're nothing without this suit", and ending with the iconic "With great power", so you could see the usage of that line as what establishes this as his origin story I guess idk.
    TL;DR, Not Iron Man Jr, MCU Spider-Man good

    One thing I like about Tom Holland's Spider-Man is that he actually wants to save people first and foremost and you can feel that in this trilogy more than the others I feel like, he doesn't let his villains die and makes actual sacrifices. People praise Spider-Man 2 til the cows come home but honestly I feel the movie is antithetical to what Spider-Man is about and shows him acting selfishly and having to learn to be Spider-Man TWICE and all over one girl (who isn't even that interesting imo) while Tom consistently puts things that matter to him behind to do the right thing. I also think Tom's trilogy has the best villains in the series.

    • @critique0767
      @critique0767 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I disagree with the part about him learning to be Spider-Man twice. Now I haven’t seen the Raimi movies in a while so I could be wrong about what I’m about to say. Spider-Man 1 was learning “with great power comes great responsibility” and Spider-Man 2 was learning about the repercussions of such responsibilities and how much you should sacrifice for said responsibilities. I personally see those as two different lessons and journeys. Yes Peter acts selfishly but that’s part of the story, that’s part of him learning to sacrifice what he wants. Which to me is quintessentially Spider-Man, he isn’t Spider-Man because it’s fun (though sometimes it is) or because it makes his life easier, he isn’t even Spider-Man because he WANTS to be, he’s Spider-Man because he HAS to be, no matter how selfish he WANTS to be he HAS to be Spider-Man.

    • @julian2238
      @julian2238 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@critique0767 both things can be true. What you said is facts and I like how you described it. They are two different things in certain aspects. But some of that does kind of double as him learning to be spider man a second time. I mean he throws the whole suit away and literally stops being spiderman. And he has to be motivated later on from Mary Jane getting snatched up, and there was that speech may gave to him earlier about there being a hero in everyone. I mean you gotta give it to Tom on that one.. lost everything in the third movie and went straight to his new apartment. Made a new suit and immediately started spider manning again. We never saw tobey deal with anything crazy like that. He quit for less. There’s still aspects about tobeys trilogy that are better than toms but Tom got it in this scenario.

    • @critique0767
      @critique0767 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@julian2238 Yeah that makes sense. I guess I was looking at “learning to be Spiderman” in a more literal sense than what was meant. I think all incarnations of Spider-Man are valid and have something that connects them to different people.

      Yeah but you always have someone who pushes Tom to make the sacrifice, In FFH nick fury basically forces him to go and fight the villains and he wasnt even gonna do it he was gonna let the others handle the job and he needs a break I get it but to make the protagonist not do anything until hes forced or encouraged to do so is very boring, I found FFH peter one of the most boring versions of the character, Hes grieving so he takes a trip where he doesnt have to be spider man and spend time with his friends but then villains appear and he just doesnt do anything until hes forced to involve himself by Nick and the others thats not peter parker. Again correct me if im wrong no one even mentions peter just disappearing for a few days on a school trip?? Like they couldve had him go through those problems and still step up to stop the villains.

Aunt may was kinda a wast 4 me i wish she woulda played a bigger part in the movie. I think some of the people who have criticisms for these movies get automatically put into the 'hate these movies' categories when they really don't. Not all of us are toxic 'Raimi only' fans.
    Personally, I find Far From Home one of the most enjoyable MCU movies . . . and yet still find it a frustrating Spider-man movie. Outside of Mysterio, there just doesn't seem to be serious concern about source material, about who Peter in the comics is. It misses the context of the Spider-Man themes. And it redoes the development that Homecoming already handled quite well.
    So while I in no way think it's a bad movie, I just don't view it on par with SM 1&2, TASM, HC, NWH and ItSV as far as a Spidey film.

    I always hated that some fans think that the MCU Spiderman is Iron boy jr. All because he has a good relationship with him, and he's nothing like his other incarnation before him, but you know what. Not all Spiderman should be like the 60's comics or Tobey Maguire. It's supposed to be different. Seriously. I'm sick of reading comments on TH-cam and other websites about some fans who don't like the MCU Spiderman because they don't like something new and different when it's so obvious. Because the whole superhero concept changed a lot as the years go by, it can't stay the same thing theirs always something different from any franchise, some could be good, and some can be bad. It all depends on the people who make it. It does make sense that this version of Spider-Man in that universe is a fan. Where superheroes already existed. So he is already a fan of the Avengers (specifically Iron Man when he saves his life in Iron Man 2), and he idolizes Tony Stark as a technological visionary. So, of course, he does not want to let him down after he came into his life not only being his mentor but also as a second father figure after his Uncle Ben passed away. I'm sure that is the same thing for anyone meeting their idols or working with them for the first time and trying not to screw it up. Plus, Spiderman has always looked up to other superheroes in other iterations. Also, in a way, Tony Stark is the perfect candidate to be the next Uncle Ben for Peter! I'm not saying that Tony Stark is the new Uncle Ben! Tony Stark will always be Tony Stark, and Uncle Ben will always be Uncle Ben. They are two wildly different characters. What I am trying to say is. That Tony fills the Uncle Ben role for MCU Peter. He's a role model and a second father figure to him. I think it's an intriguing spin to the usual story we already knew because we know Tony so well and add a lot to their relationship. Whether you like it or not. You have at least appreciated that they tried something new here.
    Besides, I would rather have Spiderman as the next Iron Man because it makes lots of sense for Tony Stark to pass the touch to Peter. After all, he knew Peter could be a better person and a hero than he will ever be than someone like Riri Williams, who showed up out of nowhere and stole the mantel from him because of Kevin Feige, the writer, and some toxic fans. Of all the people who have a connection to Tony Stark, they had to go with someone who has the littlest connection to him as his successor. If I were in charge of the company, I would go with someone like his best friend, his wife, his daughter, or his protege, any one of those people are a better hero and worthy successor than Riri would ever be. Who's nothing more than some petty thief who steals something that was never hers, to begin with, nor has she ever earned it, while also trying to seek attention, hog up the spotlight, and act like she is better than everyone, just like a spoiled brat. Honestly, Peter or Morgan should have been Iron Man's successor instead of someone like Riri. Honestly, do they have to put Iron Heart in the MCU? She is just a cheap knock-off, a woke token character, and a Mary Sue. In my opinion, she doesn't bring in anything in the MCU, other than the writers wanted more female characters, and just because she was in the comics, it doesn't mean they have to put her in the MCU. Also, the writers had some changes in their universe that were different from the comics. Rather than bringing in more random characters that have no connection to the Avengers, than being saved by one of them or wanting to be like them, just like Kate Bishops in Hawkeye, because she has no place in the MCU. Also, just like Kate Bishops, if anyone who deserves to become the next Iron Man is his daughter or his protégé Spider-Man. Not another random fangirl who wants to be their favorite hero. I mean, we already have Kate Bishops and Mrs. Marvel. I do not want to see another random fangirl who wants to be a hero. That has no connection to anything. Other than some lame excuse that she was in the comics. So they have to put her in the MCU. Also, I did some research about her. She's considered one of the most hated characters in the franchise.

    i really enjoy this mj and this peter but they did away with that relationship and ALL of the character development in 1 swoop and that bothers me so much, just when their relationship was starting to get cute and you want to root for them to stay together and use MJ for stakes then they take all of that and then some away, i really wanted to like this movie and i loved every bit of it even though the latter half had some GOOFY pacing but thats just the nail in the coffin that makes me kind of hate it. i dont know, they will probably find some way to bring them back together in the next movie but im going to judge this movie on its merit alone and i personally think the movie is good but the ending is really horrible, let me know what you think i would love to be convinced otherwise i want to like this movie so bad

    • @conathlnzo8126
      @conathlnzo8126 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the fact that the ending didn't suit to you reflects how heavy Peter's sacrifice is in the movie. Also it reflects real life choices where you have to make a decision in your life which you don't like but you know its for the greater good. This sacrifice also show Peter being selfless. I think thats one of the point of his character since in the comics when he decided to be a prick it cost him his uncle's life. It is also similar to his mentor's action which is Iron man's sacrifice, since in endgame his life is good he had a family and a simple lifestyle. Yet he sacrificed himself to do the right thing. Finally, this is his mess he had to take responsibility to what he did and this is the price. If the ending was all good and happy for the both of them i think it will undermine his sacrifice and the story itself.

    things i dislike about homecoming and far from home is that peter parker dosent feel like a 16 year old to me its closer to a 13 year old. and the acting and the energy these people have feels so not realistic, specially in FFH
    FFH feels like a disney channel film to me ( like a teen movie ) the humor the acting just everything about FFH i dislike. What i mean by that is that homecoming and FFH cant have any emotional Weight and depth, everytime they have a chance to crack a joke in they do. and the lack of consequences Peter gets in these movies also throws me off
    ( sry for my bad english, its not my primary language )
    and in NHW he actually suffer the consequence of his actions and he is acting more like his age now and i really love that peter actually wanted to save the villians instead of just letting DS kill them

    The thing I didn't really like about these films are that Tom's peter/spider-man quips aren't that good. Tobey's quips were rare and when they did happen they were very cheesy, some people bring up meme lines or funny scenes from those films rather than intentional quips; an example is "you're trash Brock.", "My Back", "I missed the part where that's my problem". Andrew's quips felt the closest to Spider-Man but the world those films tried the build did sour it for me. Tom's quips range from shocked reaction, being too polite, or just being awkward; Civil War did him a little bit better but not enough in my opinion.

    Spider-Man Homecoming is kind of the perfect Spider-Man movie, I really liked the movie and how this is a Peter Parker that is young and eager to help out but also makes mistakes and learns from them, just like Tony Stark. My favourite moment from the movie is when we see Spider-Man as a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, I just adore that moment so much. Michael Keaton as the Vulture is great and I felt as though I could understand his motivation in hating the rich and how they step on the 1%. In a way, both Peter and Adrian are played as two characters of the same coin in which they aim to prove themselves, Adrian breaks the law and hurts people while Peter helps the people including his own enemies and I love that too. Plus, this movie, much like plenty of other movies, will prove why Keaton is always a badass while being 69 years old. I agree about the Peter and MJ relationship being rushed and a little unnatural, it felt weird how in Homecoming Peter and Liz become a couple and obviously doesn't work out too well, but in Far From Home Peter decides to suddenly want to be in a relationship with MJ. Say what you will but at least in Spider-Man 1 there were teases of Peter and MJ becoming a couple with the "will they won't they" type of deal, and it was a bit dragged out until the end of Spider-Man 2. In The Amazing Spider-Man 1, there's bits of the "will they won't they" between Peter and Gwen, but they decides later on the movie to put them together. I like Spider-Man Far From Home as well even the biggest flaw with the movie is that it wants to be an epilogue for Avengers Endgame and that's fine, but it does struggle with trying to be a Spider-Man sequel. Mysterio preying on the fears of Spider-Man is perfect for a character who creates illusions and Jake Gyllenhaal did a great job with this character and tying everything together with the Iron Man story was really well done in a movie that was about the legacy of Tony Stark and Peter dealing with that pressure of trying to be the next saviour of New York when all we wants to be is a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, which is a nice tie in to Spider-Man No Way Home. I love Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Zendaya's MJ and the chemistry they translate on screen, and honestly who the fuck cares if Zendaya doesn't look anything like Kirsten Dunst. As much as I adore the Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy, at least this MJ doesn't always feel like a damsel in distress or incapable of defending themselves but not more capable than the main protagonist.

    With No Way Home, I can easily say that the MCU trilogy of Spider-man movies is one of the best superhero trilogies out there. Right up there with Captain America's trilogy. While one can critique FFH in certain elements, it is very clear that this entire trilogy is a origin trilogy, meant to setup Peter Parker into what folks mainly associate Spider-man as. And for those who disagree with this storytelling, keep in mind the MCU does this with a lot of its characters. Look at Tony Stark? The character changed and evolved not just in his trilogy but all the MCU films he was in, culminating into Endgame and his sacrifice. Same thing with Peter Parker. A star-eyed kid who idolized the Avengers and wanted to join them for superficial reasons only to recognize what being a hero is and the responsibility it requires. To Finally, here in NWH where he must give up everything to save the people he loves but still shoulders on. And that's Spider-man in a nutshell. The Parker luck, but still Peter Parker continues on.
    It is a very balsy choice to go that way but NWH very much was the missing piece in a longer story.

    You know...I didn't like the second Holland movie so much, but the first was GREAT. Despite their bizarre reinvention of MJ as a character the first movie was overall enjoyable. Stark being a guest star character was just icing on the cake for me in Homecoming.
    I'd go even further than Jay and say that the overall MCU wouldn't have been nearly or even half as good as it was with out RDJ/Stark to carry the franchise, which could be argued he did single handedly. But in Homecoming, he wasn't so overbearing that he overshadowed everything and take away from Peter's spotlight, despite what naysayers try to claim.

      Which is a criticism that's probably worse than "no consequences". Most if not all of Peter's villains in the movies as well as comics start off as villains inspite of Spider-Man, not because of him. They then become connected to him the more their rivalries go on, exactly what happens in these movies. I can guarantee that if you switch Tony with Norman Osborn in the MCU Spider-Man movies, not a single person would EVER make that criticism. You know how I know this? Spectacular Spider-Man did the same thing. Villains in that show are villains because of Norman or themselves and situations around them, not Spider-Man. The only one that I remember that is a villain due to Spider-Man's actions is Venom.

    I have no qualms about Toms spidey being different. I enjoy it. But to deny obvious writing flaws in them is dumb. They mention Uncle Ben died in Civil War, but we never see how that affects Peter years after he is gone. We are just supposed to assume he's moved on and forgotten about him. Again, nothing wrong with Tony being the father figure but they needed to show that Peter doesn't want Tony to control him because he had an Uncle raise him his whole life. This is where the New Batman got it right, you don't need origin stories but you can't ignore the people who have had an impact on your life. The new Batman shows through visual subtext that he isn't over their parents death without showing it. Also, Peter as a teenager is supposed to have problems. Teenagers lives aren't easy (Im sorry trying to say that Toms life needs to be happy and perfect is dumb). Peter goes to a private school but lives in the projects?? (Make that make sense). Aannnd we barely get enough of Aunt May. In the beginning of Far from Home, we get Aunt May accepting Peter but at the end of Homecoming she says wtf. Where is the scene where he has to convince her? And Im sorry Zendaya is mid not because of being black or being different but because their relationship is perfect. Again a 17 year old teenager would not have a perfect relationship with a girl because he is immature. If peter is supposed to be learning what it means to be Spiderman, aaaandd he doesn't want to Peter needs to be more needy in his romantic life. Because him being neeedy makes sense to his personality of running away from problems. Aand to show that the relationship has problems, you need Zendaya to struggle to set boundaries because she loves him but can't force him to be Spidey, BECAUSE TOM has to learn that on his own. That's what should have been showed. It just doesn't make sense that he can have a perfect love life if he is struggling to confront and accept that he is Spiderman.

    Really long analysis, TL;DR I liked Homecoming but could've had less Stark, didn't like Far From Home, loved No Way Home.
    For me it started of pretty strong with Homecoming, still wasn't a fan of how much Tony was involved with Peter from mentor/father figure to being the influence of the villian making it feeling to me that he wasn't Spider-man but rather a sidekick in a sense. Still never been a fan of the MCU's Flash not feeling like a bully and like you said Liz and MJ relationship with knowledge of what comes later felt disjointed to this movie. Regardless still was a fan of Keaton's Vulture, his interactions with Peter, Peter's depiction as a teen with Ned, and Peter's conflict of when he should be Spider-man. Have many issues but still a strong movie.
    Next Far From Home is a movie I liked less the more as time passed. It once again focused a lot of Iron Man, which I get that he died but also once again this time the plot being who's essentially gonna be the next Iron Man and Mysterio tied heavily to Tony again. From the Mysterio reveal exposistion scene and how he was really unconvincing to "Nick Fury" about his plot after felt like the movie was handholding us through the plot which imo was unnecessary, and the jokes overall landed less for me in this than Homecoming. But there still were some highlights like they Mysterio scene imo still one of the best in the MCU, Ned was still entertaining, Peter himself growing his independence and trying to be better than Tony than following his shadow albeit with Tony's tech. Plus the ending reveal set up and J.K. Simmons coming back. Overall by this point I was considering just being done with MCU Spider-man.
    As for the MJ controversy, I understand the issues people had that she's almost nothing like Mary Jane yet goes by MJ but as her own new character I liked the portrayal. If they just never called her MJ it would've been better received.
    However, for No Way Home not only satisfied me nostalgia wise, but also sold me on Holland's Spider-man.
    (No Way Home Spoilers)
    Starting of with Dr Strange, I was concerned he'd become the mentor/father figure replacement for Tony but instead I love that despite his ignorance he stood for his morales and actually challenged Strange's plans.
    Carrying on with Peter's decision I loved seeing again Peter's compassion for the villians like Vulture but to a greater extent making an impact but ultimately leading Peter losing someone. Having to deal with him taking responsibility for it but ultimately carrying out the same objective he had in mind irrespective of the passing.
    Going into more detail of the passing I felt this was by far the best tragedy Holland's Spider-man dealt with since it covered Peter's quintessential characteristics, him blaming himself, using this a moment to fuel his actions by carrying out the what the person embarked to him, and his struggle of maintaining his morales after said event.
    Lastly for Holland's Spider-man I loved the ending imo really showing how far he'd grown not just from the beginning of the movie but of the trilogy standing up truly on his own for that matter for the betterment of those he cared for whilst still showing he hadn't abandoned either sides of his life.
    This was only what I loved from Holland's Spider-man but I also loved the bringing back of characters and how said actors portrayed them, the interactions between many of said characters, learning how some developed since we last saw them, through the movie and how they all felt they had good screen time despite how many of them returned.

But then you have unecessary oversights like Peter's classmated all having 300 IQs, and he fell head over heels for Micheal Jackson in one scene. If Liz was Betty as per the original comics, it would have been a great choice, but she and Ned shouldn't be so important. Look at JJJ in the raimi films, he doesn't really affect the plot because he's goofy, but Ned does. And the throwaway girfriend would work if she was more or less in the background.

      @@Iam123-i5j well can I ask how? If I grade that movie overall with regard to camera work, soundtrack, action scenes it performs on all fronts. After watching it I realized that everyone in that film had their own musical theme which was sandman, venom, black suit Spider-Man, normal Spider-Man, Harry hobgoblin, and emo Peter parker all had their own unique theme. If we’re now talking camera work the scene when black suit Spider-Man first gets his black suit and sees his reflection was epic, the church sequence when he gets rid of the symbiote to Eddie Brock I also admired the 2 great action sequences the one with Harry on the glider coming to Peter from his back and the underground sandman fight scene. I just feel to say Spider-Man 3 is the worst seems a bit harsh considering everything I just listed. Homecoming reason why I didn’t like it was because the action really wasn’t there like for me when he’s on the ferry he has a tug of war kind of deal when he tries webbing his gun they actually didn’t fight each other just tug of war idk

    My main complaint about Homecoming is that it's not a Spider-Man movie. It's an iron man movie with a Spider-Man paint job. I also love Iron Man 3, but I don't want a Spider-Man version of that. I want a Spider-Man story about Peter and his responsibilities to the people close to him and himself, not about how "he *can* do it without the suit!" Which doesn't even matter because Peter takes the iron spider suit in Infinity War anyway. Same issue with The Vulture, it's just the Iron Man 2 villain again. Someone Tony screwed is coming back to take him down with similar technology. It's done better than Iron Man 2, but again, the most interesting parts of this movie are about Tony, not Spider-Man.
    Peter himself is just a more irritating version of Tony in the first 2 Spider-Man movies, and I get part of his arc is he's supposed to gradually separate himself from that, but it makes his character utterly uninteresting for me to follow in these films. Plus everyone around him is just fine with him being Spider-Man. I hate how Aunt May just lets him do it and takes advantage of it like a creepy helicopter parent, and MJ and Ned think it's cool and help him. Where is the character conflict? Where's the drama? Where's the story? Again, Peter and his allies have little to none, and it all comes from Tony.
    I'm aware No Way Home fixes a lot of these problems and gives the trilogy a greater purpose, but that doesn't automatically mean the first 2 movies by themselves are better for it. I don't believe for a second No Way Home was the plan all along, I think it was listening to the criticism and backtracking, which I appreciate, but again doesn't make me like the dullness of Peter's story in the first 2 movies.

      That's the thing though, the MCU versions of these characters were at very different points in their life. Instead of Mid-20's (like in Comics Civil War) Peter is mid teens and not fully developed as a person let alone a hero when we meet him. If we were taking Tobey's Peter and making him have Tony as a father figure I'd completely agree, but the Tom rendition of the character is more akin to Ultimate Spidey age wise but with the more respectful and reverent attitude of classic Spider-Man.
      I guess what I'm saying is that comics wise that makes complete sense but it seems like this Tony is a way better person both ideologically and morally than the comics one and this Peter is very different to. I think for the characters they are it makes sense.

    I've always had very mixed feelings about Tom Holland's Spider-Man because I absolutely hated how they turned Spidey of all characters into this weird very dependent surrogate son of Iron Man. It certainly didn't help that he was all teched out with Tony's shenanigans either...

      I feel like you’re exaggerating how dependent he actually was. And I think saying he only became Spider-Man at the very end of no way home is wrong. Like why is he only Spider-Man now? Because he made another suit? He already made his own suit before tony found him and made him another one. Tom isn’t even the only peter Parker who didn’t make his own suit. Ultimate Spider-Man didn’t make his either. If you’re talking about him learning great power comes great responsibility. He tells may he already knows that. And he shows it in civil war when taking to Tony. And in homecoming when he decides to go after vulture and in far from home when he decides to stop mysterio or when he helps against the water elemental. It’s more of a reinforcement than a new lesson he had to learn

      @@paigeh7892 Hey its fine if you don't agree with me but Tom Holland has easily been the least Spider-Man-like of the three live action versions. It always felt like he was playing second fiddle to all these other heroes. It was like he always needed some other established hero to lean on which simply isn't who Peter Parker is. Peter is someone who struggles a lot but always manages to come out on top... on his own.
      In No Way Home Peter finally has nothing which in turn gives him the ability to start over and become the Spidey we all know and love... and not a confused kid who got everything he wanted given to him by Tony Stark.
      I know you and others might enjoy this very different take on Peter Parker in the MCU but it really starts to fall apart if you compare him to previous live action versions as well as some comic iterations. On top of that MCU Peter is basically just a white Miles Morales with everything Marvel and Disney borrowed from that character.
      If you love this version tho, go ahead. Nothing wrong with that at all. I just think that MCU Peter has been the best in NWH thus far and I'm actually excited for his new trilogy, now that he has the potential to become the actual Spider-Man.
