@@cbvss Yes, they're still holding up as the car now has 208K miles. I picked up a 2012 F30 335i mid last year with 151K miles and now at 166K miles w/o that rattle sound. Not sure if it too has the zip tie method done but if I ever hear that nasty sound, I'll know what to do.
My f30 320d has just started making this noise after a stage 1 remap. Thought my car was fucked.. glad its just a broken bracket and to fix with zip ties!
My friend had the issue and used a steel cable and clamp to permanently fix the problem. He also used a nylon cable wrap to prevent any vibration from the cable to the car frame. Zip ties work but can become brittle over time.
Mine is making the noise all the time now even under light acceleration. Been slacking on getting it fixed for about a month. Its time to zip it up. Dont wait to fix this or it will just get worse.
Please tell me it was the parking brake bracket? Been having this noise too and I thought it was the exhaust valve actuator until I coded to be permanently open and still heard the noise.
OMG my m240 is making that same noise. Two months left on warranty but wonder if the cure is worse than the symptom. Should I let a dealer rip apart the driveline to replace a silly plastic bracket that will probably break again? I don't trust that them, only use indy shop I trust
Would this cause a check engine light? I’m getting a shaky start and it normalizes. Then when I accelerate I get the same grinding noise. Screen reads “Drive moderately. Maximum drivetrain output not available.”
Hi Francisco I have a situation with my (2014) BMW 650ixi Grand coupe. I would appreciate your assistance, my car makes a clunk sound when I turn right clockwise at low speed. I have changed both axles, front differential, and bearings. The car does not shake at high speed. When I turn right the steering wheel gets stiff. I have tried everything I think of that could be causing this problem. Let me know what you think.
Had this problem on my f36 on both sides. Used a total of two zip ties for each side and after 100k miles they are holding up well even to this day.
hey man late reply lol but the zipties still good? imma probably do that with my
f30

Make sure the nylon isn’t flammable
Superb fix just done mine cheers
TY for the video, my model is a F32 N26 428i and that noise is seriously annoying.

having this same exact issue on my 2020 M340i, taking it to the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully its the same issue & not a transmission issue.
Please tell me it was the parking brake bracket?

This shouldn't cause a drivetrain malfunction. You could have some other issue, make sure to check it out right away.
This is happening to my 2019 530i .. except I don’t have a hand brake in my mine it’s electronic .. HELP what can it be?? Cause it’s sounds the same
Thank you sir ❤

Dont zip tie shit. Its uneven tention on the parking brake. Buy AGA retainer parking clip
Grinning noise? Seriously? I've never heard a smile.
Very disappointed in BMW
